On way to my ranch near Henderson Tx from Dripping Springs TX I search for a local owned breakfast cafe and so glad I chose Coronas. Service with a smile and very good breakfast and coffee. The furniture is all handmade cedar with a nice finish. You will be glad you stopped in. read more

The service here was good. The issue is the food. The queso was watered down to the point that it had no flavor. We had to add salt to it! The stuffed avocado looked good but the enchiladas were not great. The red salsa appeared to just be runny roasted tomatoes. I would not recommend. read more

Love Breakfast and the enchiladas however, after going over 50 times in last 12 months. Just noticed today they are secretly charging us for chips & salsa and AGAIN when we were asked "do we want more chips and salsa". NEVER have we ever been charged before as the prices have increased TWICE on the menu in the last 12 Month. Which in my opinion is why they should go back to NOT charging for chips and salsa. What's next charging for WATER $?$?$? Owner has NOT done research in town that others DO NOT charge for chips and salsa. Main Entree prices / margins are good for inflation and plenty of industry standard profits but now it's gluttony. We will go less now because of today experience and that's unfortunate. read more

The place looks tidy and clean, but the wait time is too long. We had to wait 30 minutes for a to-go order, and the place was far away from full. But I cannot be mad at them once we tasted the food. We had a variety of breakfast tacos, refried beans and a pork chop plate. Everything was delicious. I could have eaten the flour tortillas by themselves. The tacos were full of fluffy scrambled eggs and bacon made to perfection. We would revisit on a day we have enough time to spare. read more

Coronas has solid, modestly priced, quickly tabled Mexican food. The chimichanga is fantastic and you'll need a nap when you're done! Chalupas also very good, and my wife loves their tacos al carbon plate and the charro beans. Green salsa with the chips is fantastic. Not a fancy place, but the food is consistent. Stopped in here for lunch. Chips and hot sauce are served before your meal, just like a typical Tex-Mex restaurant. They also served green sauce along with the salsa. However, these sauces top ANY I have ever had before!! I honestly doubted whether or not the salsa standard would be consistent through the meal. It was hard to make my meal choice because of the wonderful and unique variety of the menu, but I ended up ordering the stuffed avocado with beef fajita meat which comes with a soft taco (I got chicken) and a bowl of tortilla soup. Each bite of this meal was perfection!! It all tasted home-grown and homemade. I wish I lived closer because I would make this place my most favorite and most visited! read more

We were in town for the evening prior to our Saturday pilgrimage to Snows BBQ in Lexington. We arrived to Rockdale later than we planned and had issues with our room so now it was time to have a great dinner and start the night off right. My better half conducted a YELP search for Rockdale restaurants and we aligned on Coronas, an amazing choice. The exterior of the restaurant is nothing special which is just fine for us since we are here to eat and not photograph the exterior. We were greeted immediately upon entering and told to pick our seat. SERVICE: service overall was average and no notable issues. FOOD: I asked for recommendations and our waiter pointed out the fried avocados and "any of the chickens". The little guy went with the kids quesadilla, mama bear went for the tacos, and I took his recommendation for a chicken avocado. All 3 of us left extremely full and everyone's meal was great. My avocado was AMAZING and perfectly done. Anyone going here that likes avocados has to order this and I mean it. My 5 stars is based on everyone leaving full and me having one of the best Mexican meals in recent memory. Next time I will inquire if they have black bean soup in place of the tortilla soup as it was average. Possible Improvements: the margarita we ordered was average and I would recommend the purveyors move to a fresh lime juice recipe. In closing, I sit here a day after and crave for another avocado. My friend and I met for lunch at this restaurant because it was about 1/2way between our cities of Round Rock and Bryan. I picked it because of the other reviews. We found the service to be prompt, friendly and helpful. The salsa was good, the food we ordered was hot and generous. I ordered tamales and they were delicious. We stayed for 3 hours and were never rushed, our drinks were quietly refilled, and the whole experience was great. We will return. read more

He said everything was great; the beef was tender and the homemade tortillas rocked. I had a single serving of mixed beef fajitas and shrimp with borracho beans. The fajitas were under-seasoned.
