They were willing to take my girlfriend right away, but there was no ophthalmologist or Eye Specialist on duty. My girlfriend was very upset wanted an eye doctor, we looked online to see if there were any local doctors who could take her right away. We were so lucky to find Dr. Smith, who was kind enough to fit her in and take us on a late Friday afternoon. Not only did he find the eye not to be infected, it was an inflammation on the inside. That probably would have been misdiagnosed anywhere else . He has a really new nice office in a new building, its all set back from itself and other offices it also has a parking garage and room to park a car . I will say he is really nice guy and patient friendly, along with being accommodating, he answered all the questions we asked and made us feel very comfortable, but most of all..prescribed the right medicine, gave us a few options for future, & my girlfriends inflammation is almost gone. She was great, kind, energetic, and finally gave me a diagnosis that explained what had been going on with my eyes. I felt hopeful after that visit. After completing the 10-day treatment, my eyes were better still not right after I stopped. I called the office on March 11 and left a voicemail. I eventually received a call back and was told to continue treatment and come back in sooner, so I scheduled a follow-up for March 30. I also asked for a refill on my eye drops and was told it would be called into my pharmacy. That never happened. I called again and left another voicemail. No response. I waited about a week, called again, and still no response and no prescription called in. At that point, I had no way to continue the treatment I was told to follow and my follow up appt was approaching. Today, Friday March 27, I received a call from Jose asking if I was keeping my Monday March 30 appointment. I explained the situation and said that would depend on the doctor wants, since I had not been able to continue treatment due to the prescription never being sent in. Instead of addressing the issue, he repeatedly asked if I wanted to cancel. When I asked about the cancellation policy, he said there would be a fee if not within 24 hours, so I told him to cancel. When I asked for his name, he avoided answering and kept talking. I had to ask multiple times before he finally said his name was Jose and started spelling it even though I didn't ask for it. The interaction felt dismissive and unnecessarily frustrating. I'm not going to lie, he pissed me off. Overall, this experience has been extremely disappointing. The doctor seemed great - although I didn't know my condition was chronic until I looked it up on the internet. The lack of follow-through, poor communication, and unprofessional front office experience completely undermined the care. It is unacceptable to leave a patient without access to prescribed treatment and then push them to keep an appointment anyway. Very disappointing.

Three weeks ago, I had a full eye examination with Dr. Wise, an ophthalmologist (MD) in Florida. Since I have worn glasses since high school, all I needed at this visit was a new prescription after losing my glasses. Last year, I also had a full exam at LensCrafters in Aventura, where the front desk clearly explained all costs and insurance coverage before my appointment. That visit was handled transparently and professionally. At MyEyeDr, however, the front desk did not explain what my insurance would or would not cover. During my appointment, a technician took retinal images without informing me that this would result in a $44 charge. I should have been told in advance and given the choice to decline. In addition, I was charged $140 for a contact lens fitting that was never discussed with me beforehand. The optometrist attempted multifocal lenses, which did not work for me. I was the one who had to suggest the lens setup I normally use (one lens for distance), and only then did he agree it would work. This left me feeling the fitting was unnecessary and not worth the fee. At checkout, I was presented with a bill of $640 that included these undisclosed charges. I was not prepared for such an amount and chose not to proceed with the purchase. The interaction with the sales associate afterward was uncomfortable and unprofessional. Because I was not informed of these additional services or fees beforehand, I am requesting a refund of the $44 retinal image fee and the $140 contact lens fitting fee. I believe this is a fair resolution given the lack of transparency and communication at my appointment. Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter. My experience occurred almost 10 years ago. The reason I decided on posting this review is that I…read moream still living with the physical and emotional trauma as a result of a minor procedure. I gave 2 stars because Dr. Weiss was a nice and approachable doctor. I've been to this office for another procedure with decent results. Doctor Weiss decided to spot test my under eye with 2 different types of lasers to see which one could help with minor dark circles around my eyes that I was concerned with. He used one type of laser on on the right eye and a different laser under my left eye. I recalled the laser on the left eye is the same one used for tattoo removal. He lasered in the groove above my chin which didnt even have any hyperpigmantation in that area. I Immediatel felt a stinging sensation and when I looked at my face, the skin under my eye where he lasered was abrased and peeling off. When I asked if that was normal, he said yes and put some sort of gel on it and told me to stay out of the sun and follow up in a few weeks Well a few days later my skin started to hyperpigment and turned really dark in the sane area that was burnt. People started asking me what happened to my eye. It looked as if I had a black eye. I returned to the office a short while after to report what had happened. All I recieved was a temporary fix to the issue. I cannot use hydroquinone for the rest of my life. It is not meant for long term use. The black mark returns after use is stopped. I have stayed out of the sun as much as possible and use sunscreen, sunglasses religiously. The scar is still in my face and I've been living with being self conscious and embarrassed all these years.I've had some major depression because of this. I don't have a permanent solution to this issue and I woul like to look at my face once again and like what I see.
