I visited the office about 6 months ago. I was interested in making minor eye lid adjustment and the doctor was a great salesman in making me feel comfortable and signing up for additional services which I don't really need. I had 20/20 vision but this is something that is not detectable by me, did not affect my vision. I would have never known about this had I not gone for semi regular eye exams. So make sure you go for your eye exam because you never know. Anyway, Dr. Wolfe did an excellent job of opening my angles. He explained every step of the way to me. He has steady hands and while it was no picnic, it was bearable. And let me tell you....I am a big baby! I don't even like to get blood drawn let alone anything to do with my eyes. I go for yearly check-ups to make sure everything is still okay and hopefully it will continue to be. He's very professional and speaks on a level that I feel comfortable with. Sometimes doctors like to talk in a way that is very sophisticated with their medical terms. I recommend him for a regular exam or hopefully nobody needs a surgery like I did.

That visit was handled transparently and professionally. At MyEyeDr, however, the front desk did not explain what my insurance would or would not cover. During my appointment, a technician took retinal images without informing me that this would result in a $44 charge. I should have been told in advance and given the choice to decline. In addition, I was charged $140 for a contact lens fitting that was never discussed with me beforehand. The optometrist attempted multifocal lenses, which did not work for me. I was the one who had to suggest the lens setup I normally use (one lens for distance), and only then did he agree it would work. This left me feeling the fitting was unnecessary and not worth the fee. At checkout, I was presented with a bill of $640 that included these undisclosed charges. I was not prepared for such an amount and chose not to proceed with the purchase. The interaction with the sales associate afterward was uncomfortable and unprofessional. Because I was not informed of these additional services or fees beforehand, I am requesting a refund of the $44 retinal image fee and the $140 contact lens fitting fee. She was great, kind, energetic, and finally gave me a diagnosis that explained what had been going on with my eyes. I felt hopeful after that visit. After completing the 10-day treatment, my eyes were better still not right after I stopped. I called the office on March 11 and left a voicemail. I eventually received a call back and was told to continue treatment and come back in sooner, so I scheduled a follow-up for March 30. I also asked for a refill on my eye drops and was told it would be called into my pharmacy. That never happened. I called again and left another voicemail. No response. I waited about a week, called again, and still no response and no prescription called in. At that point, I had no way to continue the treatment I was told to follow and my follow up appt was approaching. Today, Friday March 27, I received a call from Jose asking if I was keeping my Monday March 30 appointment. I explained the situation and said that would depend on the doctor wants, since I had not been able to continue treatment due to the prescription never being sent in. Instead of addressing the issue, he repeatedly asked if I wanted to cancel. When I asked about the cancellation policy, he said there would be a fee if not within 24 hours, so I told him to cancel. When I asked for his name, he avoided answering and kept talking. I had to ask multiple times before he finally said his name was Jose and started spelling it even though I didn't ask for it. The interaction felt dismissive and unnecessarily frustrating. I'm not going to lie, he pissed me off. Overall, this experience has been extremely disappointing. The doctor seemed great - although I didn't know my condition was chronic until I looked it up on the internet. The lack of follow-through, poor communication, and unprofessional front office experience completely undermined the care.
