Had to redo our roof which had concrete shingles that had cracked and with recent rains we could no longer put it off. Had contact Josh during the early part of the pandemic in the summer and decided to hold off since it was hot af and also lumber prices were high. We did get a quote from Josh and also quotes from other contractors but josh offered the best value and service. Since we had concrete shingles the house did not have the plywood foundation needed for shingles so that needed to be placed (plywood be expensive) , but josh and his crew knocked it out efficiently. Layed out the underlayment and shingles. What was even more awesome was a worker stayed behind one day when there was signs of possible rain, he wanted to make sure the house was protected prior to leaving. Now that is A+ service. They are quite busy especially since it might be the season for new roofs. But he did an excellent job and replaced bad wood where it was needed. Josh replaced my Spanish tile and flat roof recently. I like how he was professional and clear with the scope of work, pricing, and possible additional cost of materials. Fidel was a referral from a good friend, and I'm very glad I hired him. His price was very fair and reasonable compared to others out there. There were no hidden fees upon completion compared to other roofers. Fidel will go out of his way for you to make sure you get quality treatment and you are happy. There were reports of possible rain in Pasadena prior to the installation of the new roof and we were still waiting for the inspector before we could start laying down new shingles. Fidel came out and covered the roof with plastic tarp as a precaution. I selected the Owens Corning Amber roof and it matched the house perfectly. Why?? Because their installers decided they could use my trash cans to clean up their trash and yet not put back the recyclables they had dumped. I had to call the company back to pick up the mess. I recently had roof repair done by Cortez roofing. The guy that I met to give estimate was friendly and easy to talk to. he sounded knowledgeable However, he did not do much of the work and only time I heard from him was when he wanted a payment. They gave me best reasonable estimate however, they were not reliable and did not show up to do work til about 9 or 10 in the morning. One day they did not show up til 2 in afternoon and only worked 3 hrs that day. It took them over a week to complete work that should have been done in 4 to 5 days. Even though they gave best price for work, I would have paid more to have a reliable contractor complete work in 5 days. I would not recommend them even though their cost is lower. It was annoying wondering what time they would show up to work on the roof. The workers doing the work were ok but some were not too experienced. I had walk around to point trash to clean up. They were very good about cleaning up. I would not hire them again if I had my choice. I recommend people get full details of work in written contract...set payments of work depending on progress.
