Mountain Green is a cut above these places as the condos and the public spaces may not be luxury, however MG is definitely not a dump. The place is clean and fairly well maintained. Also, all of the condos are on one electronic key system, like a hotel. There is also a front desk. This is useful as during our stay, our keys stopped working and we had to get them replaced. No big deal, we popped into the office and got new keys. The best part of Mountain Green, whole reason you go to Killington, is that it is about a 10 minute walk to the lifts.

As long as you understand that this isn't a luxury resort, I'm SURE you'll be more than happy staying over at the Killington-Pico Motor Inn. Ski trips (particularly the lift tickets) are expensive, and when coming here with friends ever since college, all we ever really need are just a few comfy beds for the end of our wild Killington nights. Add to that the complimentary hot/cold breakfast, year-round hot tub, and the awesome family that runs this hotel, and you've got the perfect "best kept secret" that Lynda M. describes. Rooms are kept clean, owners know me by name even though I'm far from a "frequent flyer" here, and the other guests are always fun to chat with in the cozy hotel lobby / living room area. A couple notes on mass transit for those that plan to rely on "The Bus" (the Killington region bus system). Morning buses en route to Killington pick up outside this hotel's entrance at 30 minutes past the hour (as of this writing) on the "Diamond Express" (Rutland-Killington) line. Evening buses are pretty much the same deal - just make sure you get on the Diamond Express, as the other bus just goes back and forth on the access road.

While it was a bit expensive for what you get (a little over $120ish), I really liked the cleanliness of the room. The bed sheets were cleaned. No questionable, weird looking stains anywhere to be found. The water was extremely hot, the heater worked very well (took a while to heat up the room) and the bed was surprisingly comfortable. I also liked how the room was set up. There was a lot of room and coat racks/hooks for all of your snow gear. The owner was also extremely friendly and was always very polite and smiling.

We booked this resort through timeshare and had called separately to add 2 days to our trip (Friday…read moreand Saturday) months before our February ski trip. When we got here, they told me they only had me for Saturday! I was NOT a happy camper! Apparently despite they took my money months ago and sent a booking confirmation of the correct date, someone changed in the system a week before my travel date and removed my reservation for Friday night. Luckily they were able to find another room to accommodate us, but annoyed that we literally will have to check out the next day and move into our booked room. They can't even move our stuff for us because they are so understaffed, so we literally had to checkout in the morning, put our stuff back in our car and check-in at 4 pm. Ugh, rant over! Ok, so about the rooms (since I had the pleasure of staying in 2 separate units). Nothing flashy or spectacular about this place but they do have all of the essentials and the rooms are clean and well-kept. The beds are surprisingly comfortable but not so much of the pullout couch. The queen suit 1 BR had a full kitchen, 1 Bathroom (access in the bedroom which is poorly designed since you have to walk through the bedroom to get in), 1 queen bed in the bedroom, and a pullout couch in the living room. For the other suit (we stayed at room 214/216), it's a 1 BR with 2 Bath, much bigger but only has a kitchenette. This was much better setup and had space in the entryway for ski/snowboard equipment. The unit seem to had new carpeting and has a nice view of the mountain and stream. Amenities-wise, they have a outdoor heated pool which opened 3-9 pm in the winter, a laundry room ($2 quarters for 1 load - same building as the office), a library room with books, limited DVD, coffee & tea and small workout gym (downstairs from office). Location-wise, it's at the end of Rt 4, intersection with Rt 100. There's a BBQ restaurant and bar across the street as well as a gas station. For skiers/boarders, it's about 15 min drive to Killington Ramshead lodge. If you have loaded pass, you can take the Skyship gondola to the mountain much closer (5 min drive) to Bear Mountain. Overall we are happy with this place despite the reservation mixed-up. Timeshare resorts are slim picking for ski mountains so will definitely stay here again.

Our group of 5 people stayed at #43, which is actually located at 144 Village Circle, Killington VT. The entrance to the Resort is right across the street from Peppino's Italiain (747 Killington Road). ** The 450 Killington Road address is the address of the lease office from where you get your keys&lease agreement, as well as return your keys+check out, for your stay. ** The condo that we stayed at was very comfortable, with a livingroom (fireplace, couch (sofa-bed), t.v. with dvd&vhs players, as well as boardgames and a puzzle!), master bedroom, 1 bathroom, 1 upstairs loft area with couch (sofa-bed), laundry+drying machines, as well as a decently sized kitchen with EVERYTHING (utensils, cups, glasses, plates, bowls, toaster, coffee maker, frying pans, soap+sponge..). Although sheets+towels were provided, shampoo/conditioner/body-wash were not. What was also great about this accomodation, was that.. as we stayed here for a winter weekend and were planning on snowboarding/skiing, our stay at The Woods included door-to-door shuttle for our group to be transported to/from Killington Ski Resort! This was absolutely wonderful (just make sure to make your reservations a day earlier!). The location is very conveniently located to restaurants and markets in the area, as well as to the Killington Ski Resort (should you decide to just drive there on your own). The spa/pool area is very nice, complete with locker rooms w/showers, etc. All in all, I felt very much at home at this location.. and almost wish that we were here for a whole week, rather than just a weekend!
