I am so glad that I found The Guild. My intro to blacksmithing class was fantastic - the instructor…read moreand staff were so helpful and knowledgeable, and really made the process accessible. They have literally everything that you need - all tools and materials, even gloves and band-aids for those beginner blisters and free water for your studio time. Blacksmithing itself is definitely way harder than I anticipated, but with their help I was able to make my first piece and I'm so proud of it. They offer tons of classes (blacksmithing and other crafts like leatherwork and welding), as well as studio time along with your sessions to come back and practice. I had a little trouble with the heat so I think I'll need to wait until things cool down again to give blacksmithing another try, but I can't wait to come back and try knife-making! If you're like me and have been itching to try those traditional Ren Faire crafts, be sure to check this place out!

FIVE STARS. FIVE FLAMES. FIVE REASONS TO CANCEL YOUR BORING LIFE…read more Let's be clear. Pompano Beach is known for sunshine, ocean breeze, retirees on bicycles... and now apparently, a full-blown cathedral of fire and skill hiding in plain sight. The Guild is not a "cute workshop." It's not Pinterest. It's not "sip and glue." It's heat. Steel. Sparks. Sweat. Focus. This Valentine's Day, I didn't take Julia to dinner. I didn't buy flowers that would wilt faster than a South Florida ice cube. I brought her here. Six hours. Not a tourist demo. Not a 90-minute novelty class. Six hours in front of a forge forging a heart-shaped candle holder with our own hands. Hammer by hammer. Reheat. Adjust. Strike. Repeat. Learning that steel has rules--and if you ignore them, it punishes you. And here's what makes The Guild different: They don't just teach blacksmithing. They teach skills. Real skills. The kind that make your brain fire differently. The kind that remind you you're capable of more than scrolling and complaining about traffic. Under master instruction from real working craftsmen--not influencers, not hobbyists, not YouTube theorists--you feel the weight of competence in the room. Calm. Precise. Zero fluff. This place teaches: * Blacksmithing * Metalwork * Practical craftsmanship * Discipline * Patience * Teamwork * How not to panic when something is literally glowing red In a world built on disposable nonsense, The Guild builds permanence. You leave tired in the best way. You leave with calluses. You leave with something you made that will outlive your streaming subscriptions. And here's the wild part: You find your tribe. The slightly unhinged, joy-filled, skill-hungry humans who think "let's hit hot steel with hammers" is a perfect date night. Five stars isn't enough. This is five roaring forges and a standing ovation. If you're in South Florida and you want more than beaches and brunch-- If you want to actually learn something-- If you want a date night that doesn't involve a waiter explaining foam-- Go to The Guild. Hit the steel. And remember you're not fragile.

Students receive the most up-to-date technical training from staff members who are either National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Master Technicians or ASE certified mechanics. In addition, each day students spend time in YATC's state-of-the-art automotive shop, receiving an extensive period of hands-on training that enables them to apply their automotive theory lessons and acquire practical experience in a working atmosphere. Students participate two days per week in Life Skills classes. These classes are designed to help students understand how to handle real life situations, familiarize students with current events and enable them to better comprehend issues in society and politics. Class topics include subjects such as job interview skills, resume writing, setting and achieving goals and health and wellness. Field trips, guest speakers and other enrichment activities are offered monthly. This individualized element of the YATC curriculum helps students improve academic knowledge based on each student's needs. Curriculums are designed by YATC's two academic instructors to specifically address each student's targeted areas for improvement based on their performance on the Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE). Students who do not have a high school diploma are able to prepare for the General Educational Development (GED) Tests. Those students who have a high school diploma from a nationally accredited high school will work to improve their general academic knowledge and enhance any areas of need.

My daughter was enrolled for the summer nail tech program after we went to visit the school…read moretogether (she is a minor - the classes for 16 and older). It started off great with the first teacher, but she was pregnant and her last day was at the end of last week. They replaced her with an incredibly incompetent teacher who seems to take pride in making people feel terrible. I heard it all week (only day three and it's that bad) about other students, crying, going to night classes to actually learn which she isn't teaching them, and overall made the feel terrible about themselves. The contact at the school loves to reply using the excuse that it's an adult program (does that mean adults should tolerate this - pay for this type of treatment and classroom atmosphere?!?). First of all, it's not an adult program or they wouldn't accept 16+. Adult or child, no one should have to endure this type of atmosphere, which is night and day from just last week when the original teacher was still there! I think it's horrible that the first response is an excuse, let alone this excuse. This is not what I paid for and this is not what my daughter signed up for... I highly suggest looking into another school before signing up for Boca Beauty Academy. I will update once the issue is resolved, but looking back I wish I did a little more digging into prior feedback as this seems to be a redundant issue with the school at both locations. Disappointing, to say the least. Also, I was told that I was paying for everything needed, and that is not the case. I had to spend a lot more money on decent supplies since what I paid for was junk. I will compile a list total how much out-of-pocket I've spent on decent products compared to what I paid for initially when I paid for the summer program.
