They let me come back to adjust them and on the second visit he suggested ordering new frames with no additional charge. Picked up my new frames yesterday and they are perfect. They have a huge selection of frames!! My visit was quick and painless. They were easy to get an appt with and I was able to call and get someone on the phone quickly as well. My only recommendation would be to allow a few extra minutes for parking as I typically had to circle the block to find somewhere to park! 10/10. 5 stars!

TLDR: My wife and I had new patient eye exams at Sirgany and everything seemed to be fine until we…read moreboth decided we did not need to buy new $800+ glasses with fancy prism lenses from them. Due to incompetence, shirking of responsibility, and shady nickel and diming, we will not be returning. I should have taken it as a hint that appointments were so much easier to get here vs. Cortland Eye Center. I can't speak to how good that place is, but it can't be any worse than Sirgany. First, during my wife's exam, Dr. Sirgany said my wife's eyes had gotten slightly worse, yet the prescription we received showed a dramatic improvement in one eye. Hmm... After multiple attempts to brush away our concerns without listening to details and just saying "improvements happen sometimes," the staff FINALLY talked to the doctor, who admitted his mistake. I would have had no problem with this, as it was simply a 0 where a 1 should have been. Not an enormous deal. It was the multiple phone and in-person conversations with staff who were unwilling to even fathom a mistake had happened that were the bigger problem. Had I not been persistent, my wife would have ended up paying for glasses with the wrong prescription. We're not done yet, though! A couple weeks later we both received bills from their office for co-pays. That's weird... My insurance specifically says that a routine eye exam is fully covered. Well, because we both simply mentioned symptoms that either a) do not affect our vision or b) are incredibly common with no clear links to our vision, they submitted diagnostic codes for these "health issues" to my insurance company. This changed our appointments from a routine exam to a clinical/specialist visit, incurring a co-pay charge. There was no discussion from the doctor that this was happening either. The insurance company said all Sirgany had to do was submit a corrected claim with routine codes (like they should've done in the first place). They refused. I've always been open with my doctors during checkups, discussing potential problem areas, and I have never been charged a co-pay for routine visits. I guess we should've kept our mouths shut with the Sirgany office.

The office is very modern and spacious. At least 3 staff members greeted us as soon as we got there for our apt today. We had virtually no wait time. I was still filling out paperwork while they brought my 3 kids back to get started with their exams. We were seen by the Optician first and then by Dr Sirgany for our exams. There is no Doctor who is better with kids than Dr Sirgany! He had my kids laughing and engaged the whole time. He kept it moving at a good pace but took plenty of time to answer their questions (they have a lot)! He shared some fun educational things with them and talked with them about how our eyes work. Regarding my exam, he reviewed my pics and chart with me and talked me through my options, what he recommends and why. I didn't feel rushed at all. Dr Sirgany is wonderful with questions and gives his full attention to his patients. They are extremely thorough and have cutting edge technology in the office. They have tons of brand new frames (sunglasses too) in the front to choose from. Victoria stayed with me and helped me choose what was best for me which was great because I would have been lost on my own. Its hard to find a Doctor's office with great staff and great Doctors but this place definitely has it. They do stay very busy (easy to see why) so be sure to make an apt in advance. We have found our family Optometry practice at Sirgany Eyecare and have no interest looking anywhere else!

So maybe the business person messed up, that's not a reflection on the competence or professionalism of the doctors there. I had a great experience. I, like everyone else have had many eye exams over the years but none of the optometrists have communicated what they were doing and what they saw in the tests like Dr. Curran did. The reason I was in there was because the glasses I got from my last exam that a different local optometrist did over a year ago never felt right. I ended up wearing an older prescription. Dr. Curren examined the glasses from my last exam and told me exactly what was wrong with them. Only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because I haven't placed an order for glasses using the new prescription yet. I'll update this review after I get the new glasses.

He guarantees access to his care By telling to come in right away if there is a problem. He promises to care for chronic situations right away, even often stepping away from the active clinic to help in regular patient rooms. Deb, his PA, consults with him on challenging treatment options. Both have an excellent "bedside manner" as well. The office check in kiosk is very helpful. The office staff are insistent on patient responsibility and advocating for themselves. The office professionals are learning to recognize urgent care situations in this highly specialized office. Come prepared to advocate for what you need To feel better. Good communication between patient and office staff is so important. I look forward to growing that relationship as much as I can knowing the staff will do whatever it takes to do the same.
