My girlfriend and I went here last weekend for hair cuts, manicure and pedicure. The prices are…read moredefinitely right for the hair cuts (currently $10) and the mani/pedi is currently only $30. We were both satisfied with the services we received. I only got a hair cut and appreciated how much time my stylist spent with me. My girlfriend got an amazing pedicure - always pretty in pink. I'd definitely give them a try - remembering they are students and may take a little longer than you're used to at other salons.

I am very disappointed with my experience at Paris Beauty College. This was my first time visiting,…read moreand I was really looking forward to getting baby highlights done all over my hair. I have had baby highlights done before, and I have never had such an awful experience in my life. Unfortunately, the results looked almost exactly the same as my original color and even appeared darker in some areas. What made the experience more frustrating was that the instructor did not agree or acknowledge that the result was not what I had requested. As a customer, it's disappointing when your concerns are not taken seriously. I paid $120, and like everyone else, I work hard for my money. Now I have to go somewhere else and spend more to get this fixed. I truly had hoped to become a regular client here, but after this experience, I would not recommend this place to others.

This was my first time to JD Academy but I had heard great things…read more I booked a custom facial, be warned they are very booked and busy. You will need to call and schedule about a month out for a service. Diana was my esthetician and she greeted me warmly. During the service she listened to my skin concerns and formulated a plan of treatment. The service was great and very relaxing. I had a great time and I will definitely be back. For being a school, it felt very professional and the students were exceptional.

$27 for a haircut that includes a wash and blow-dry is a steal these days!…read more i was very well aware that this is a school / academy for students to practice styling and cutting hair. I was a bit hesitant but i just cannot imagine paying $100 for a haircut and wash. some were $60 for just cut (no wash) so i decided to just give it a try and told myself that if it's really that bad, i'll just never go back or it's just hair, my hair will grow back very soon. i got there and was attended immediately. Alexandra was my stylist and she told me she was going to graduate from the academy very soon. She was gentle and patient and in the end, my hair turn out very well. I was happy to know that her supervisor was there all the time to watch for any "mistakes" or answer any question the student had. some things that could be better is that the hair washing was too gentle. didn't really scrub; i felt that it was more of a brush and rinse. i've been to other places where the stylist really massage the scalp which felt nice. the haircut itself was a long process and i get it because student is being very careful and have to wait for the supervisor to approve or check on the cut. I was there or 2 hours. my hair was just below shoulder and i cut it to above shoulder with the shortest layer at my chin area. if i had gone to a more experience salon, i'm sure i'd be done within 1 hr. in the end, if you have the time and doing simple cuts - DO consider this academy for haircuts.

Current student going through the program and may change rating based on ongoing experience…read more I started the program about 2-3 weeks ago, mainly because they recently began offering weekend classes, which worked well for me since I have a demanding full-time job. So far, unfortunately, my experience has not been great. I'm not sure if it's because the hybrid/online model is still new for them, but it really feels like they don't have the process fully organized yet. Most of the issues come down to lack of communication and unclear expectations for online students. Once I paid my deposit, I wasn't really guided through the next steps. I was briefly shown the portal we use for coursework (CIMA) and told to download WhatsApp because that's how we communicate with instructors. Beyond that, I pretty much had to figure things out on my own. I even had to personally ask questions in the group chat because I was confused, and it turned out several other students felt the same way. Eventually we found out there's an orientation every Monday, but nobody clearly explained that upfront. The virtual learning environment has also been frustrating. During online sessions, chats are muted and virtual students can't really ask questions because the instructors are focused on the in-person class. That honestly makes no sense to me considering online students are paying the same tuition as in-person students. It feels like the virtual students are an afterthought. Even submitting homework has been confusing. We use Dropbox, but I was basically just told to "download Dropbox" and had to dig through old chat messages to find the actual submission links and instructions. At this point, I honestly feel unclear every step of the way. I spend more time trying to figure out logistics, apps, links, and expectations than actually focusing on learning. The frustrating part is that these seem like very simple organizational issues that could easily be improved with clearer communication and better onboarding for online students. I'm still early in the program, so I hope things improve over time, and I'm open to updating my review if my experience changes.
