This and Aritaum are, currently and from what I've seen wandering around, the only K-beauty shops at the Source. The funniest thing about this location is that you can see all the boyfriends, husbands, and partners and their kids just waiting outside milling around on their phones while their S.O. is shopping inside. When I went on the weekend it was pretty packed. I liked that there are some brands you don't generally see at other Asian beauty shops and that there are samples you can, I guess smell or swatch. There's make up, skincare (serums, toners, sunblock, face wash, etc.), hair care, body care, and some household goods like those air freshener sticks. However, after a quick look through I was just ok with the prices and the selection that they have here for my own beauty and skincare needs. Some of the items are a couple dollars more expensive that what I could find online, but that's understandable. I think my only issue was the stock that they had of what was carried and the state of the samples. Most of what did pique my interest, the cute eye shadow palettes and make up, were all sold out but were still on display (10+ items like this not just a couple) and the samples that were out for swatching looked absolutely disgusting and dirty. Smeared lipstick and cream and blush everywhere, some had hair and dust and other things in it. I dipped real quick. I don't know, I've been spoiled with ShinuyaLa and I'm genuinely quite surprised there's no K-beauty shop equivalent that does it like them. read more

One Star Review They wouldn't let me exchange a product since the box was open but the bottle inside was never opened. On the receipt it says New/Used but they don't hold up to their own policy I guess. This was my go-to place for Korean Skincare but I'm going to find another place since they were not willing to accommodate and gave me a "free" mini item which doesnt even equate to the amount of money this product costs. read more

I needed more facial serum and happened to step upon Cosmetic World in Buena Park at The Source. So convenient. The ladies working were helpful to me. Even tho there was a bit of a language barrier, she was able to make recommendations and I left with a new serum and lip tint. She recommended the lip tint and I tried it on and it was pretty. It was a bit of a splurge buy, tbh, lol. It costed $17.90! She was very sweet and it was great customer service! After I checked out with the cashier, I asked for samples. The cashier offered me only 1 sample. With is very surprising for me, considering my past experiences with other Cosmetic World in LA. Then after she gave me my receipt, she told me how much points I had (3000+) and that I can use it next purchase. Smh, I could have used it for that purchase but not sure why she didn't let me know til after she rung me up. read more

This replaced K-Pop Beauty in The Source OC not too long ago in late 2021. It is another store that specializes in Asian beauty and skincare products and brands. Unlike its predecessor, this store offers a variety of brands from Korea, Japan, Taiwan, and a few popular Western brands like Fresh. There is plenty of parking available in the structure. Regardless of when you go during the day, one can usually find a spot. The store is well organized, with sheet masks, beauty tools, and cosmetics at the front of the store, facing parallel to Aritaum. In the back, you'll find some specific categories like certain brands, products for men, and bath/body products. Everything is clearly labeled so you can find items easily without issues. The staff are very friendly and happy to assist you, if you have questions. Someone was always welcoming new customers to the shop and the staff seemed pretty knowledgeable about the products offered. I have not had a chance to purchase anything yet, but I would come back here again, as they offer many brands of sheet masks that I love using. They also run promotions on individual sheet masks where you can buy a certain number and get some free. read more

I've spent hundreds of dollars at this store, but after today NEVER again. I have a membership here and this was my third time here in just the last month! Today my husband and I were 100% discriminated against. We walked in and started looking at products like usual. I had 1 product in my hand and an older worker named Jamie stopped in front of me holding a basket. I said "no thank you" and she replied "store policy" and forced us to take it. All the while, I'm thinking- Um, no it's definitely not store policy lady. We have never been forced to use a basket any other time, it's always been optional. What confirmed my suspicions is that I started looking around at all the other people who had been in the shop before us and they were all holding products in their hands. By this point Jamie was following us around. My husband noticed she was constantly behind him. And when Jamie saw me looking at the other shoppers she started pushing baskets in those people's hands. When we were at the register to pay, a different worker was helping us and I flat out asked if it is store policy that we HAVE TO use a basket. This worker told me No!! It is not required! That was the last confirmation I needed to know we were definitely singled out. My husband and I don't look Asian (even though we are both mixed Asian). We also came in dressed in sweats - (because it's our day off from our corporate jobs!) If you still choose to shop here just beware because Cosmetic World hires racist, problematic employees like Jamie and if you don't "look" Asian or if you dress down you'll be targeted. I have been using L'Oréal hair color for many years as individual. This time I Purchased 6 tube of hair color L'Oreal Marjorie 7.12 and developer from cosmetic word . It was supposed to cover the grays and give a brilliant color. But not only it did didn't cover my gray but made my roots to purple color. I called cosmetic world after passing me to too many phone number's and calls they told me I need to call L'Oreal directly. I called L'Oreal. They said cosmetic world is not authorized to sell their product to individuals and they did not take responsibility for the quality of the product. I'm not sure if cosmetic world is selling their real L'Oreal product. I have been using this color the same brand for many years, but this is the first time I purchased it from cosmetic world. The only help customer Service gave me is just passing me to another phone number to call this is not appropriate and I do not recommend this company for purchase. read more

This place WAS my favorite go-to place for skincare / makeup products; however, I was highly disappointed at how UNHYGIENIC and unprofessional the worker/owner was. I couldn't tell if she was an employee because she did not wear an apron like the other employees. She was tall with middle length hair and would bring in a makeup box full of makeup and do her makeup at the cash register, then would PROCEED to pick out PRODUCT SAMPLES on the shelves and APPLY THEM STRAIGHT TO HER FACE. I went on two different occasions and she was there on both days; (1) applied the lip gloss sample straight onto her lips with the product wand, (2) used a sample lip tint straight on her lips + used a sample gel eyeliner. This is absolutely GROSS. So many people put these samples onto their hand, samples wands, etc. to compare colors to buy. Knowing that probably more than half of the store has touched someone's lips / face is something everyone should be aware about. Please take precautions when going here. read more

Mayhaps I have found my new go-to skincare spot! I'm definitely a textbook skincare junkie and am always on the look out for new products to try out, which this store has no shortage of! They carry all the latest and most popular skincare and makeup products from the Asian beauty scene (focusing on Korean and Japanese products). Ended up picking up some pimple patches, masks, and lip tints! Already itching to go back for more goodies. read more

I am Korean, and I spoke English when purchasing a product and overheard the staff wearing red, body shaming customers' legs in Korean. She said it loud and clear thinking the people around her couldn't understand Korean. Extremely unprofessional and disrespectful. read more

I like the skincare brands but the customer service is sooooo bad and lowkey racist. Me and my friends were shopping and I didn't notice the lady was fixing the stuff I was looking at just to see me because I was so focused on my conversation and meanwhile she left my friend pointed it out and came back with a basket and said to put the stuff there and not hold it in my hand like ??? And then I noticed they didn't say hi to us when we walked in and other Asian people walked in and they did say hi which was weird. Finally they had to vacuum my feet while I was still looking and had the audacity to get mad at me for not moving. read more

Had such bad experience shop at this store. The price at the shelf does not match with the register. The clerk Michaela and Renee tries to gaslight me that I saw the price tag wrong. When they finally went check the price tag, they doesn't admit it's their mistake for putting the wrong price tag and will not honor the price.
