I used to come here regularly years ago when I was in school, so I figured I would make an…read moreappointment since I was in town. I made an appointment online, but I was instructed that it's better to call them directly because I wasn't in their system. Fortunately I was still able to be seen when I came in. I wanted a silk press and the instructors are making efforts to ensure all students know how to do a proper silk press. Taya was my student stylist and it was her first day back in the floor. Poor girl had me as a client to welcome her back lol. My hair is thick and plentiful! It took some time to get the blow dry right but fortunately the instructor was there to provide ample guidance. Taya's flat iron skills were already on point, so fortunately that part was smooth sailing. All in all my hair came out amazing and I left a satisfied client. After tackling my hair, Taya should be ready to handle a silk press on any 4C girlie with thick hair!

Mr. Ned has been a barber for nearly 40 years and is probably the most compassionate and gentle soul you'd ever meet. This school teaches you the core old school barbering skills and sets you up to pass the Louisiana State Board Exam. Classroom work is conducted in the morning and afternoon for about an hour, the rest of the day students are gaining practical experience by cutting hair in real customers that walk in.
