I am a local who eats at this food truck parked outside Innovation Brewery regularly. They always have a vegetarian option for my son in law and grilled cheese or hotdog for the grandchildren. Their meat patties are hand patted and they use real potatoes, so it may take a bit longer because it's real food. The staff has never been anything but nice, even on super hot days. Definitely the best burger in Sylva! Friendly staff. The burger hear is the prefect thickness...not too thick. Also their fries are also a winner... I will definitely be coming back. While I am hesitant to give it five stars I think that this place really deserves it for its affordability as well...you'd definitely be paying more at five guys or anywhere else with fresh meat. read more

This place is delicious - I mean if I could, I'd get a burger there everyday! I love cheeseburgers and real, hand cut fries and Cosmic makes me like them even more! Someone told me about this truck and my beau wanted to drink a few so we stopped to eat and have some beer. This place is expensive. I realize food trucks are more pricey in general...but 9 bucks for a burger with just bacon and bleu cheese on it? No sides? Nothing special about the meat or bun? My husband and I were staying near Sylva for our anniversary. After a long day or hiking, we were so hungry but didn't get in until about 9:00PM. Cosmic Carry Out was open and we decided to swing by. WOW! One of the best burgers I've ever had...and biggest!! We couldn't believe how much food we got for the great price!!! The fries were AMAZING and crispy and HOT even after a 20 minute drive back to our cabin. The best thing was the staff accommodated us when they ran out of blue cheese and bacon for the burger I asked for. They added extra things without extra charge and were so eager to give us suggestions. Our food was ready quickly and we were amazed at how delicious it was. Hands down, Cosmic Carry Out has the best burgers in western North Carolina for a very good price. I eat there regularly and am never disappointed. Their tacos, fries, and specials are great too! The service is fast and friendly, the food is high quality, and the atmosphere--an outdoor patio shared with Innovation Brewing (great beer and live music!), overlooking Scott creek and nestled in the Great Smokey Mountains--is perfect. It's hard to rate something for the flavor and quality when there was an obvious problem. The burger was a great at first.The fries were okay. Now the problem. Half way through eating my burger, I took a bite and there was a hair in it. It was pretty thick hair too. I don't think the hair was in the burger itself, but probably landed on it while it was being plated (transferred to the bun and put in foil). Then my friend was eating his fries and there was a long, curly hair wrapped around some of his fries. Such a shame since we were originally enjoying the meal. Probably had something to do with the fact that a guy with a pretty full beard was working there and he didn't have a covering for his facial hair. read more

When I first arrived at Cosmic Carry Out, I was expecting the usual mobile food truck setup.. not the case! This little gem of a food truck is a semi-permanent fixture beside Innovation Brewing. It's clear what they specialize in and they're happy to serve it up- a grub burger (along with some other options) and a mound of fries. Because my boyfriend and I were sitting inside the brewery enjoying a flight, after we placed our order the gentleman behind the counter offered to bring it in to us when it was ready. The burger (one from their daily specials) arrived wrapped in foil but didn't stay that way for long. Inside waiting was a cheeseburger complete with blue cheese, grilled onions, bacon, and was topped with a toasted onion bun (yes please!). And the fries? Uniformly long, crunchy and delicious. Nothing fancy, just plain good. Being a lover of all things toppings, I was unaware that the burger wouldn't come with the standard lettuce/onion/tomato trio in addition to the toppings listed on the board describing the specialty burger. I would have liked the chance to ask for those additions before it was in front of us being enjoyed. All in all a very nice accompaniment to some expertly crafted brew! read more
