    So Gouda chicken
    Nicole L.

We shared the beet salad and while I did like it, I do think that they needed a bit of the good stuff - more beets, more goat cheese. But it was very good quality but more of an arugula salad with toppings. The reason for the 5 stars is that So Gouda Chicken! It's the kind of meal that you're still thinking about the next day. So crispy and crunchy mixed with the rich sauce - Yum! Served with mashed potatoes and some collards to cut the richness. Delicious! We sat a bar which was comfortable and cozy. Bartender very knowledgeable and friendly.

This is a great spot for families with good beers and good food. It's kid friendly as well. They had a beer special that was a birthday cake beer and it tasted like birthday cake. I've never tried anything like it. For dinner I got the steak teriyaki bowl. It was very good although it was more of an American style teriyaki bowl it was still very good. I like this place a lot and this is my second time visiting this town and this restaurant. Highly recommend if you are traveling with kids.

Awesome little restaurant in downtown Waynesville. Glad we stopped when we did because it quickly got busy. A good sign! We were seated right away and our server was fantastic. We had some picky eaters in our party and they were more than happy to make substitutions and swaps to certain menu items. My husband and I got the whistle pigs as an app to start. Holy smokes. I think this was a top ten appetizer I've ever had! The bites were crispy and cheesy and the perfect amount. I had the double cross cocktail and it was well crafted and delicious. Both beers that my husband got were also very good. My husband got the so Gouda chicken and I got the steak frites. Everything was bursting with flavor. The so Gouda chicken was rich and creamy. My steak was a little underdone but still good, and better than being overcooked. The fries were crispy and you could really taste the truffle flavor. We were both stuffed but couldn't stop eating. Our server was super attentive and so friendly. He even told us about Boojum, and that it's another name for Bigfoot (we had no idea!). Perfect location as well, as after we were stuffed from dinner we walked down to Kilwin's for a sweet treat. Fantastic experience and highly recommend!

Stopped in on a Sunday afternoon and sat at the bar. Two TVs to watch football on. Good beer selection. Ordered the cookies and beans blonde. I got the smash burger and my husband ordered the fish and chips. Very good burger. Saved half for later. My husband liked the fish and chips as well. Bartender was friendly, fast and helpful. Loud and crowded but that's ok. Fun place to stop in for a beer. I love their salmon but it's not available until after 4 pm. Always fun and decent food. Will be back!

It's not a trip to Waynesville unless we come to Boojum at least once. This trip, we came twice in three days, and each time I got the beet salad. You might be thinking why a beet salad, and why twice. Well my friends, it is that good. I am a sucker for goat cheese and a good vinaigrette, and this salad hits on all of those points too. The walnuts add a nice crunch also. Of course my group does not come to Boojum for the beet salad. They come for the whistle pigs. Each time we come, the amount of whistle pegs that we order increases. You can't go wrong with a homemade pretzel that is loaded down with pimento cheese and bacon. That is a piece of heaven on earth. The wings are good also. We like to get them plain with sauce on the side, as not everyone in our group has the same tastebuds. We've sat at their big round table, the long table in the middle of the main room, in a booth in the main room, and outside at a table, and there is not a bad seat in the restaurant. Now, if you need to be close to the bathroom, that's located towards the back of the main section. You pay at the tables. Service is always on point. The wait time can be long, but just put your name on the list and pop across the street to another downtown establishment and scurry back when your table is ready. We love Boojum Brewing and always make this a stop on our annual Waynesville adventures.

The Low Down: This place has great food, good atmosphere and plenty of seating! Our server was terrific and went above and beyond to make us happy!

    Pulled Pork Slidres. WTF?
    Ken F.

This was my go to in Waynseville. The place I send visitors brag about and can't wait to return to when I am in town. Last night it disappointed, so I am writing this in hopes management reads and responds. I had Ahi Nachos and the Pulled Pork Sliders to go. Both were WAY below the quality I had known from my numerous previous visits. Nachos were 90% chips and 10% nachos, the pulled pork was dried out and disgusting. I only realized how bad the sliders were when I got home. I mentioned the nachos to the bartender, who said nothing, just collected my plate and walked away. Uncharacteristic of this establishment. The beer here is good, but I can get beer anywhere. Please fix your kitchen problems, I want to start recommending this place to friends and family again. Sad to see.

Waynesville, NC is a quaint small town with a walkable downtown lined with shops and fun restaurants/breweries. Boojum had a busy Saturday afternoon crowd and the Beer and Food did not disappoint. Beer Selections 5/5: Boojum Light & Hounds of Helles Lager. Shared Lunch: 5/5 1/2 order of the Whistle Pig (stuffed soft pretzel of bacon and pimento cheese). Smashed Burger with a side of fries. Service was spot on and portions were perfect.

Wow! Great place! We literally drank our way across Asheville and waynesville. Server was cool and took very good care of us. Very clean, slick style... my cousin visits here often.

My wife loves eating outside, and loves hearing/seeing water, so this checked off those boxes. Nice to see they're very pet friendly too! For starters, our waitress Kiersten was a DELIGHT! So sweet, knew the menu, and a pleasure to talk with. She needs to get props for making our first visit so enjoyable, that we WILL be coming back! It was before 5pm and we wanted to take it easy, so we ordered the brussel sprouts app and the Philly Cheesesteak to share. Great choices! The fried sprouts app was HUGE and delicious, especially dipped into their homemade ranch! So much that we brought a third of it home! The Philly was very flavorful and the curly steak fries were crispy and filling! The menu is so big, that we are going to have to come back MANY times to try it all -- and that's something are looking forward to!

I asked for no lettuce on my burger (due to recent gastrointestinal events all over the news) but got it anyway. He had more mashed potatoes than pot roast on his plate. Service was mediocre - she was nice enough but just going through the motions, I think. Our table was directly in front of the house music. Strategic error on our part but it turned out ok. He wasn't singing and the music was mostly bland background. Our table was a high top and the stools were just a little too high for the table to be comfortable. Ah well, the best part was sitting alongside the mountain creek and sipping beer.

The live music was an awesome touch and made for a fun atmosphere. I was able to bring my pup since I sat outside, which was a huge plus. Ended up using the back of the booth for our water bottle and condiments and still struggled for space. Buffalo wings were good but not exactly Buffalo. No buttery spicy hot sauce. It was more peppery than buffalo. Wings were cooked perfectly though Reuben is excellent as are the jalapeno Mac bites. Cheese dip was also excellent but we (and the table next to us) had to ask for more chips. Not portioned terribly well. Beer options were very slim (2 on tap from what it gathered). I'm sure there were plenty of bottled options but draft was disappointing. We ordered the ale but they tapped out and brought us brown ale. At 5pm...only a brown and stout on tap. Overall, it was a pretty middling experience but the food was good and they offer a military appreciation discount.

Out of all the breweries we hit on this trip, this one takes the crown!…read more From the minute we walked in and saw them making Jell-O shots, I knew this wasn't just a brewery, it was a party brewery. The kind of place where you stop in for "just one" and suddenly realize the sun has set and you've somehow made three new friends... aka my favorite kind of brewery! I wish we could've stayed for the live music because the stage setup looked awesome, complete with disco balls and plenty of Instagram-worthy areas for pictures and boomerangs (yes, I'm a millennial and I'm sticking with it)! The beers were excellent, and it became clear pretty quickly that this brewery is woven into the fabric of the town. Their brews popped up at several restaurants we visited, and after stopping in, I totally understand why they're so well-loved in the area. The space is huge, with high ceilings and plenty of room to spread out. There's even an outdoor area built out along the sidewalk--probably a COVID addition that was too good to take away. The vibe was laid-back and welcoming. Service at the bar could've been a bit more attentive, but everyone was friendly and chill, so it never bothered us. And my favorite moment? Watching a grandpa-aged regular stroll in with his own paper plate "poor man's charcuterie board." I absolutely loved it. That's the kind of place this is, a spot where regulars feel at home and newcomers instantly want to become regulars! No food that I could tell, but honestly, with great beer, good vibes, live music, disco balls, and Jell-O shots, who needs much else?! If you're brewery hopping around town, make sure this one is on your list. It was our favorite stop, and I'd happily spend an entire afternoon getting lost here. Also, not sure if the Jell-O shots are a staple or not so don't be sad if they aren't there, I didn't asked, just vibed lol
