    Chili cheese fries

It's a lazy Saturday afternoon and we happen to be in Parsons. We decided to give the Cosmic Castle a shot. It is a small town sandwich and ice cream shop trying to make a go of it. The food was surprisingly good. H got the cowboy burger. I got the pizza panini. We also got the chili fries. I am very please with the food. H is a burger connoisseur and she plowed through. The BBQ sauce on the cowboy burger was very good. The service was great too. I suspect the waitress was also the cook. The panini is well cooked and the marinara is good. I suspect it's from a can, but I'm in Parsons. The chili fries had a nice taste. The articles on the wall are from 1962, celebrating the start of the space age. The video games are okay. It's not Dave and Busters, but we're in Parson. The whole downtown is quaint and this area needs some love. Help America be America and support places like this.

Starbucks...watch out!! This place makes a mean, decadent, mocha latte like no other! I say that in all honesty. I did not expect to get anything special here at Cosmic...the surroundings is quite spooky...A coffin to showcase the pool room...nostalgic video games inside what seems like a carved out dungeon in the back...I did sneak back there to see if I could still maintain a high score on PAC Man, and centipede...That was sweet fun, y'all! I needed "something" to give me a mental boost, a break, a happy let's go-again moment after spending a couple hours at the Kids Museum. Cosmo's offers sandwiches, hot dogs, nachos, sundaes, and gourmet coffee...all the good stuff! I opted for something sweet, so did my daughter. She enjoyed the chocolate ice cream. I ordered the Macadamia Nut Mocha Latte and their Salted Caramel cookie....both were the best I've ever had. So here it is...the place that had that special something to kick start me up again. Sugar...the way it's meant to be;)

Really cute location with eclectic arcade games and pinball. There is a pool table in front and a half second story area with tables for role plate if board games in back. Lots of sandwiches of their own creation. Also Nathan's hotdogs with homemade toppings. Finish off your post school excursion with a hand dipped ice cream or shake.

Over priced food served here. No one is ever hear to eat so obviously the food isn't to fresh.

If coffee is your thing, this is your place. service: Everyone we interacted with was professional and helpful. Excellent recommendations and attentive service. food: Based on staff recommendations, my wife had the club panini with pasta salad and I had the chicken salad with chips. Both sandwiches were prepared to order and served quickly. My wife bought a couple of cookies from the case near the cashier. Everything we had was excellent. space: We didn't expect to find such a cool space. This is a former storefront with high, pressed tin ceiling and what appears to be original flooring. In addition, it's great to see such a cross section of diners. The place has a welcoming neighborhood vibe. There are shirts, ceramics, and other items for sale along one wall. details: Downtown Parsons has plenty of surface parking both along Main Street and in a public parking lot on the North side of the building. There were diners at every table; however, some tables are large so we shared with another person.

First for 8 bucks, the sandwich had barely any salad in it. did not come with tomato or lettuce and no cheese? This place would be so awesome if they had more variety with choices and not scrimp on what they put between two slices of bread. Highly disappointed to say the least. However, the staff is awesome and friendly and makes up for the weak sandwiches. I want to show this place how to make an awesome sandwich!

The manager, or whomever I spoke with, was very defensive and said some crazy condescending things. Honestly, I realized at that point that I was not dealing with someone who cares. My only question was why at least one of the car hops never noticed that I was sitting in a pickup stall for 20 minutes. Customer service seems to be non-existent. At least she could have been kind!

Continue to drive in a direction that resembles "up." 5. End up in Kansas. Take a picture of the "Welcome to Kansas" sign. 6. Actively make the decision that you will not touch interstate until you hit Kansas City. 7. Be hungry for lunch. If you do this, you will most likely end up in Parsons, KS. You will look for an authentic, horror-movie style diner in which you will stand out so much people will stop eating & talking when you walk in. And you will find out that this diner is, inexplicably, closed. BUT you will find a shiny, brand new Sonic drive in filled with some of the nicest Kansasans you will ever meet. Not that I'm a proponent of fast food - but when you options are limited and you KNOW you can get a sweet ass cranberry limeade, (oh, yes.) a chicken sandwich, and some onion rings to hold you over knowing very well it may be just you and the road for the next few hours...I'm in. Honestly though, the food was as tasty as it usually is at Sonic, and the people were very friendly to this out of state fellow. Even though this trip was a little while back, I still remember it fondly. Trust me, if I ever end up back in Parsons, KS - I will pay a very nostalgic visit to the Sonic in remembrance of my first time there.
