MP&D construction…read more Absolutely horrible experience. Advice for anyone looking to acquire services with Matt Mooney/MP&D Construction solidify a commencement date and incorporate in writing the day/times you have these guys in your home. Secondly, determine the price per day/hour that Matt strings you along and make sure to deduct from total price to ensure consistent progress on the project. Day 1 - Shows up at 9am and does a solid days worth of work which led me to believe they were actually going to complete the job in two weeks as I was promised. Day 2 - Creates a sob story about paying his staff etc which I foolishly bought trusting Matt to be a man of his word. Day 3 - Starts the first and not the last day of apologies and informing me of his staff calling off because they made their money and were paid with no intentions of returning because they had no idea how to completed the work that was delegated. Day 4 - For the next 4 weeks Matt would either show up just to tell me he can't complete the electrical work and plumbing or that his staff called off. After the first week I knew I was bamboozled. I made numerous attempts to make contact with Matt and unfortunately was promised to settle for a price that he proposed which was never fulfilled. His company left me home exactly as shown in the pictures attached. Holes in the floors, malfunctioning electrical throughout numerous outlets and rooms since having them in my home, and a distasteful trust for contractors like Matt. All in all I ended up paying 2 X's the amount that I foolishly paid Matt Mooney and his gang to fix all of what they successfully dismantled in my kitchen. On numerous occasions Matt would arrive on site smelling like he just smoked marijuana en route. I would recommend you not waste your time with MP&D Construction I'm positive this isn't the first time Matt Mooney has left a job like this. I pray no one has to encounter the lack professionalism and disrespect that unleashed on my property.

I would like to tell everyone about a wonder company and person…read more. I cannot speak highly enough of this company and the very special Matt. My husband had set up an appointment with Matt and then died two days later. I could not call and cancel because I had no idea what company was coming out.. Matt showed up and I told him to just give me the estimate since he was there(thinking I would deal with it at a later time) I received the estimate in a email a few days later and a letter from Matt saying he didn't feel right charging me for the job but would do it for free. This was something I had never experienced before , a stranger doing something so awesome for another stranger, WOW! And they did a beautiful job taking my stucco ceiling to a beautiful flat smooth ceiling. Thank you so very much Matt, Tennessee and Lori. MP&D construction I do not have a before picture but this is the beautiful job they did. So if you are looking for a company to do work in your home please give them a chance to show you the wonderful job they can do.

They covered all of our floors leading up to the bathroom (remodel). The completed job matches our original plan. They were able to make adjustments when things were not going according to plan. They were able to obtain all the materials we picked out. Anytime we reached out to our Project Manager he was able to respond and give us information in a timely manner. Since we don't have a garage, they were able to provide us with a trailer which held all of our materials on site. Negatives: They gutted the bathroom as planned. When they laid the floor, they never covered it with paper so they continued to remodel the bathroom walking on the newly installed floor. Seems like not a big issue, but it's winter and they were dragging in dust, snow, ice and salt onto our new black floor. All of the debris was falling onto the new floor. Due to the fact that multiple people are working on multiple jobs, mistakes were made and workers had to come back out to fix errors made. Part of why we went with Detroit Build is because they had a design team. We were still required to go out and find the materials on our own. Our assumption was they would take care of this step. While our Project Manager did get back to us, we had to reach out weekly to get updates. At the end of the project the only cleaning that was done was construction cleanup. We were disappointed to find out that they did not have a cleaning company to take care of this job. It wasn't a clean and pristine feeling that you would expect with a remodel. We had to call and get a "deep clean" on our newly remodeled bathroom.

Detroit Build remodeled our main bathroom and delivered a good job; communication before and during…read morethe project was excellent; towards the end of the months-long project it tapered off a bit (probably because the contractors got used to us working from home and somebody always being there). A slight miscommunication occurred likely in the quoting stage already, where I may not have picked up on a bidet seat being installed where I wasn't expecting that to happen. But that would also explain the higher re-quote that I approved, so there's that. We came to like it anyways and are happy with it. Kevin was a great Project Manager; whenever I saw something that needed improvement, Kevin took care of it. Their Showroom in Royal Oak to pick designs / tiles etc. is definitely a plus. The job was billed exactly as quoted; if there is something I would recommend doing would be a formal, final walk-through at the end of the project. There are a few very minor things I would have wanted to at least discuss or have some advice on. Overall I'd highly recommend Detroit Build and would work with them on a future job any time.
