I usually commute by bike, so that's a bigger deal, especially since it takes some cycling on less than ideal streets to get there. I recently needed some wound management supplies. On the way home, my friend stopped by Bi-Mart first. I am a big fan. They didn't have what we needed. We went by Rite-Aid knowing they are usually the most expensive. They apparently carried one of the items we needed, but they were out of stock. We did take note of the price. I waited in line to ask the pharmacist in case they had some other things in back that weren't on the shelf. They told me to go talk to the other part of the store as they just dispense medication. Another line, and I got a cold, "Nope; if it's not on the shelf we ain't got it." We were going to head out to the other Bi-Mart and Safeway next, but decided to stop at Rice's on the way. I am glad we did. My friend didn't want to stop there, but my friend's mind has now been changed. Not only did they have all the items we needed, the prices were much more affordable. Did I mention the staff is very friendly? No. I guess I didn't. Well, they are. Helpful and friendly. Even though it's out of the way, I think I'm going to tell my doctors to change all my prescriptions to Rices. If that helps keep them in business, it's a no-brainer. Small independent shop that cares about the community, unlike Rite-Aid which is a huge corporation - allegedly number 148 in the Fortune 500. Far more personable. It reminds me of growing up in the '70s. One of our neighbors was a pharmacist at an independent drug store nearby. We always used that pharmacy for the same reasons I'll always use Rice's now.

Translation super tiny short nail beds that are damaged and basically clinging to their last shred of life. It's very hard to find someone who is gentle enough with my dry, thin, brittle nails. For this reason I haven't gotten my nails done after leaving California and moving here as my last nail tech I had met by chance through a agency I was contracted with at a fashion show (they mandated I had my nails done and would send me to different techs they had contracted) and I never thought I would find someone as great as her until I went here! The vibe is super friendly and welcoming and let me just say the quality of nails ABSOLUTELY STUNNING! The prices are also incredibly low for the quality you are getting! She didn't hurt me or make me flinch once which again with my nails is super hard because they are so thin the dremmles get hot a lot quicker on them. With her though? Not a single ounce of pain or mishap. Another thing is I get my nails very short and natural looking which is hard as the shorter you go the more bubbly nails can look because of how powder sits but she took the extra time to make sure they looked perfect and as natural as physically possible! And it sounds like such a simple thing but my daughter has had experiences where she's say "I would like it cut just below my shoulders" and end up with something closer to a "bob." Rather Crystal did make a few small suggestions and then clarified that it wouldn't affect my daughter's ability to have her hair in a pony tail. I asked my daughter if she would want to come back and she said "definitely!" :) We also scheduled out appointment online, which was easy and quick to do. We showed up a few minutes early and Crystal was just finishing up with another customer so we didn't have to wait around at all. There's a comfy couch to sit on, which i really liked b/c normally, I might either sit in a salon chair or in the waiting area (where I'm more out of touch w/ what's going on). But this way it was easy for me to be part of the conversation and my daughter knows I'm right there if she needs anything. Parking is easy as there is reserved parking for customers only. Credit cards are accepted and you can leave a tip using your card (or not) if you'd like. Certainly a place I'd recommend to anyone (guys can get cuts here to) and especially students as they all get discounts :)
