Like the previous review, I also had a mortifying experience at Rite Aid…read more 7.24.24 1:15 PM I had a Paxlovid script (Covid anti-viral) called in by my doctor who told me I didn't need to isolate, but wear a mask. I, masked in N95 - no cough, went to pick up the script and the woman behind the desk asked my info, saw what I was there for and freaked out on me: "YOU SHOULDN'T BE HERE! IF I GET COVID, I COULD DIE!" I responded with "WELL I HAD CANCER!" She wouldn't help me so I went to the front desk to pay for my items. I asked for a manager, and none were there. A customer who witnessed this unprofessional behavior followed me to the front and said she was so sorry that happened to me and saw how poorly I was treated. The employee told me "they didn't have that (Paxlovid) here." I then checked the website and it says Rite Aid carries it. I call the pharmacy and wait 36 minutes on hold to talk to a Pharmacist, who was very nice. Turns out Rite Aid's supplier hasn't sent them Paxlovid so she said I can have another pharmacy transfer the script. Helpful! I called Safeway and they picked up the phone immediately. Have Paxlovid in stock, no problem. They fax over a request at 2:45pm. My husband went to pick up after 5 pm and Rite Aid, hadn't yet sent over the script. Called again, no wait time, and took care of it. Safeway, Freddy's, and Walmart all have the drug in stock and won't treat you like a leper. I posted online in the Newport FB group about this horrible experience and this employee has a long history of treating people poorly and has been reported multiple times. Why is she still employed? Why is someone who can die of Covid working behind the desk AT A PHARMACY?I Also, a suggestion: if you don't want sick people coming into a store that's called a PHARMACY, put a big sign out front directing customers to drive-thru! Tell them you don't carry the drug. Have masks available and hand sanitizer at the door! Also, call people who have the drug called in and tell them you don't have it and then they don't come for it. Problems all solved and no customer will be treated with disrespect - against Rite Aid's Code of Ethics and poor business!

1/5 Stars - BEWARE: Gross negligence, deceptive fees, and nearly lost an $1,800 gold set!…read moreMy family bought a gold chain and bracelet set from this location for nearly $1,800, plus an extra $150 upfront for sizing. When I went in to get them fitted, the staff immediately tried to double-charge me another $150 for the exact service already paid for on our receipt. It gets much worse. Instead of properly soldering the links closed with fire like a real jeweler, their bench jeweler lazily pinched the metal shut with pliers. As a direct result of this horrific work, the $1,800 piece broke and fell right off my hand. The ONLY reason I didn't lose an $1,800 gift on the spot was because an honest stranger luckily found it and turned it in. When I went back, an employee explicitly admitted on the spot that it was their jeweler's fault for not fixing it properly, but then tried to lie and claim I couldn't return or exchange it! It was only after I threatened corporate action that the manager magically changed their story and agreed to process the refund. Because of this store's gross negligence, dishonest counter service, and total lack of quality control, I have officially filed formal reports against this store with: The State Attorney General Consumer Protection Division The Better Business Bureau (BBB) Kroger Corporate Management Fred Meyer Jewelers Corporate Do NOT trust this store with your money, your time, or your fine jewelry. They nearly cost me $1,800 through sheer laziness and tried to cover it up. Absolutely unacceptable.

Very Disappointing Experience with the JEWELRY DEPARTMENT!!!!!!!…read more I'm extremely disappointed with my experience with Fred Meyer's jewelry department. I purchased a rose-gold, ring with a teardrop opal, and within a few months, the opal fell completely out. I eventually found the stone and brought it in for repair and resizing. Unfortunately, when I received it back, the repair was poorly done and the ring was actually hurting my lady's finger. She has worn it fewer than five times since we bought it originally and after we got it back. Also never left the house and stayed in a box (we just finally noticed why it's hurting and not in good shape) I was eventually told the ring was too damaged to repair, and employees acknowledged that the previous repairmen were not good!! What makes this even more frustrating is the manager's response. I was told, "I am the one who checks rings and wouldn't let this slide." Yet it clearly did slide, and I felt there was no real accountability for how the ring was returned to us. I asked for a contact above the manager and was told that information was confidential. so there was no one above her that I could speak with directly. I later asked if they could call me, only to be told they were on vacation and, if they did call, it would be a in "incognito mode." Phone number...So honestly, I feel like a hopeless customer. I can't speak to anyone above the manager, and upper management feels completely inaccessible--and truthfully, a bunch of crooks hiding under rocks. I understand their standard return/exchange policy, and I take full responsibility for not addressing the issue sooner. I'm a truck driver and frequently away for work, which contributed to the delay. On the day I brought the ring in, I checked Fred Meyer's website beforehand and saw the stated 60-day return and 90-day exchange policy, so I understood that I was outside the normal window. Also at the store I was told it's actually 30 days, however the stores website at this location stated 60-90 day exchanges. I also understand that Fred Meyer Jeweler has contracts and policies they have to follow. However, I don't believe having a contract should mean customers can't have other issues considered when something like this happens. This wasn't buyer's remorse--the ring failed, was repaired, and came back in unacceptable condition. They offered me everything except a full refund, including exchanges. I didn't want another ring, nor did I want this ring back because I genuinely believe there is a design flaw. I worried that if I exchanged it, I would only end up back in the store asking for repairs again. I even tried to settle for another of the ring but asked for a free warranty going forward, especially after being told the previous repairmen "were not good." Instead, I was offered a gift card to Fred Meyer... I didn't spend this much money for grocery's.... it's my lady's proposal ring. I'm not here looking for a gift card to buy a bunch of groceries. I want to feel respected and understood based on my experience as a customer. At this point, I don't want another repair or exchange. I wanted a fair resolution to a situation that was not simply me changing my mind about a purchase. This was supposed to be a meaningful proposal ring, and Fred Meyer's jewelry department has turned it into an incredibly frustrating experience. I expected much better. To anyone ever considering Fred Meyer Jewelers, I wish you nothing but the best. But there are much better people to work with. Harry Ritchie's is the GOAT, and I honestly wish I had never considered this place to begin with. This is absolutely my last purchase ever from this business. Horrible across the board. Godspeed, and hopefully nobody else runs into an unfair situation like mine, because when you do, your gonna be locked in and not understood- I don't want anything to do with this business again so I simply excepted the same ring (new) resized. No warranty. I will get repairs from someone else. Goodbye Fred Meyer jewelers and not another dollar more.

I usually commute by bike, so that's a bigger deal, especially since it takes some cycling on less than ideal streets to get there. I recently needed some wound management supplies. On the way home, my friend stopped by Bi-Mart first. I am a big fan. They didn't have what we needed. We went by Rite-Aid knowing they are usually the most expensive. They apparently carried one of the items we needed, but they were out of stock. We did take note of the price. I waited in line to ask the pharmacist in case they had some other things in back that weren't on the shelf. They told me to go talk to the other part of the store as they just dispense medication. Another line, and I got a cold, "Nope; if it's not on the shelf we ain't got it." We were going to head out to the other Bi-Mart and Safeway next, but decided to stop at Rice's on the way. I am glad we did. My friend didn't want to stop there, but my friend's mind has now been changed. Not only did they have all the items we needed, the prices were much more affordable. Did I mention the staff is very friendly? No. I guess I didn't. Well, they are. Helpful and friendly. Even though it's out of the way, I think I'm going to tell my doctors to change all my prescriptions to Rices. If that helps keep them in business, it's a no-brainer. Small independent shop that cares about the community, unlike Rite-Aid which is a huge corporation - allegedly number 148 in the Fortune 500. Far more personable. It reminds me of growing up in the '70s. One of our neighbors was a pharmacist at an independent drug store nearby. We always used that pharmacy for the same reasons I'll always use Rice's now.

With lots of parking, on a convenient intersection right off of I-5 and near the Woodburn Outlets, it's very convenient to stop here. And it's spotless - even the bathroom! Really have no idea how so many people have given this store a low rating. I'm an inner City girl, live downtown Portland and have to walk past multiple tents and step over people to get in Walgreens, harassed for money to and from my car. People, seriously, be thankful! Picked up some items I needed, and grabbed some dark chocolate covered marshmallows Easter eggs because the basket in my kitchen counter somehow got raided! Those working here were are friendly and were delighted when I told them how impressed I was with the store. Will definitely stop in when I'm in this area, shopping at the outlets or heading out to the Wooden Shoe Tulip Festival, Schreiner's Iris Farm or Sauvie Island Dahlia farm. Seems like I'm in Woodburn frequently, especially when the gardens are open!!
