After signing an agreement that I am going to be working with them, I had a beautiful, detailed diagram to present to my condo board for approval. Once I had the approval, we signed our official contract and went over the payment schedule and Jermaine and his crew completed everything from start to finish in 5 days. I was extremely satisfied with the whole experience. My fence is beautiful. Jermaine is very hard working and professional, friendly and polite. Shana handled all communication and emails and inquiries I had during the whole process and her customer service was amazing as well. I highly recommend this company to anyone in durham. They are outstanding. I've already requested them for my next job of redoing my patio and laying fresh sod and I am excited for the end results, because I know Jermaine will do an amazing job. With 2 large dogs, we cannot let them get out of our yard, and we had held our collapsing fence together with several beams of wood and large pots filled with rocks. I contacted 6 companies. Need A Hand was the first to respond. Jermayne, the owner, showed up soon after to measure the fence, ask us our preferences, and gave us a quote on the spot! Eventually, we had a few other quotes, and Need A Hand was the most cost-effective of all, and they had several suggestions for strengthening the fence so that it was not as susceptible to winds (we live in a wind tunnel!). Jermayne and his crew were pleasant, responsive to suggestions, and built a very beautiful fence in timely fashion. They left the yard in pristine condition, and even managed to preserve some of my plants, including heirloom roses. Those have nasty thorns, but they willingly worked around that. The results were great. For a professional job, pleasant and reasonable workers who will listen to you, and offer you a reasonable price, Lend A Hand may be the place for you to go if you need home repairs. Throughout the construction process, Wendy frequently changed the contractors assigned to the project--ultimately involving four to five different teams. I was present on-site regularly and personally observed these changes. The subcontractors engaged by JP Lucky often delivered substandard work. Once deficiencies were identified, JP Lucky would dismiss the existing team and hire new subcontractors to continue. Although I fulfilled my obligations under the contract, JP Lucky failed to complete the project on time, and the work completed was defective. Due to these issues, I submitted a claim for adjudication through the Ontario Dispute Adjudication for Construction Contracts (ODACC), Case No. XXXX. On December 18, 2024, ODACC issued its Determination, providing copies to both the Respondent and me. The Determination ordered the Respondent to reimburse me $XXX,XXX (including HST) and $X,XXX (including HST), representing 50% of the adjudication fee. Despite my repeated demands, JP Lucky has failed to comply with the Determination or remit the required payment. While Wendy and JP Lucky initially present themselves as amicable and reliable, their conduct reveals a failure to act in good faith. Despite receiving payment for services, they have refused to return funds for work that was either unfinished or materially deficient, thereby disregarding the interests of their clients.

My deck was re-sanded and re-stained and they even replaced some damaged wood planks that were in bad shape. It is a pleasure to see that there are still companies and people out there that care about the work that they do and ultimately care about keeping their customers satisfied. Yuri is a man of his word and he took care of whatever issues that we had and I highly recommend his company. Thank you Yuri for being a gentleman and a good business person. Very disappointing experience with Roofing Monkeys…read more Work was poorly done -- the sun tunnel was installed incorrectly, the could not even match the opening in the ceiling with the opening in the roof after doing it twice. It leaked almost immediately, and workers caused damage to my walls, staircase, ceiling and trim. They also left a mess behind (debris and shingles were swept into flowerbeds). The gutter work is still not finished to this day, even though I paid for it and it was clearly included in the quote. I gave them multiple chances to fix everything before writing this review, but I've now gone months without any response with multiple followups. The crew was unprofessional -- some workers didn't speak English, misrepresented work being done, and were openly speaking negatively in Spanish in front of me. Christian was also extremely rude and dismissive. Overall: poor workmanship, damaged property, incomplete work, and zero accountability. Would not recommend.

After several days and many calls, a rep from RM showed up and recommended roof cables and said he wud send someone to clear the ice jam. They never showed up or returned my calls. I called another firm to remove the ice jam and they said they saw several problems w/the new roof and provided photos. Plus they said the roofing cables are ill advised , esp for the amount of snow we're getting in Toronto. I would not recommend roofing Monkeys to anyone.

The final price was the same as the estimate and was way less than we had expected to pay.

The standard of work was impeccable and Luis actually ended up making suggestions to our architects to remodel our original plan which ended up saving us money whilst maximising space and creating a higher return on our money. This company is very cheap with their workers. I highly recommend not going with this service…read moreprovider because all they care about is their bottom line. Their wages aren't competitive and they do not value their labourers. They promise a wage, but then they do not ensure that at least a minimum will be paid to their employees. Example : worker is promised X wage. But then the real factor is how many rain days are in a week, or the religious holidays that aren't paid, or the simple fact that there isn't enough hours to provide for even a workers basic lifestyle. Ok the service that they are offering are mostly covered by subcontractors. So I ask you : Why not just save yourself and call the guy doing the work instead of a company whos primary purpose is to profit off the worker, then never call the worker again once they find a cheaper way to carry out a job. My overall recommendation is find a company that is more service orientated , not so focussed on how much they can make off of you and your properties. Yes they have been around for X number of years, but how many workers did there job but got fired so this company never had to pay any benefits to them : fired before the 3 month probation.
