This review is for Costcutters in Antham. AZ on Daisy Mountain Rd. Very irritated at this salon. When I called for an appointment they didn't tell me that I was required to wear a mask. When I got there they told me that the mask I did have was unacceptable and they gave me a paper mask. When it got time to pay the bill they charged me $4 extra for a "Surcharge". But a recent experience with my former hairdresser had me seeking out a less expensive option for my fine, curly and colicky hair. a neighbor suggested Veronica. We are in Anthem from out of town. My 7 year old got wood glue in her hair two nights ago and didn't tell me until this morning. I was afraid she would have to have 7-8 inches cut off to undo this damage. However, Bernice squeezed us in and worked on it with a special brush and then washed the rest out. She was so gentle and patient! We had a little trim and we are so pleased! We will definitely come back to Cost Cutters if we ever need any hair services while we're visiting Grandma and Grandpa. read more

Been here twice. First time was terrible. Today was horrible. Hair cutter first initial K. All she did was try to cut my hair as fast as possible, while answering the phone. As she was cutting you could tell that the shears she was using had not been sharpened in a while. It was more of a pulling than cutting sensation. I paid for shampoo and that was terrible and received no conditioner. Save yourself a bad haircut and go up the road to nearby competitor. Worst haircut ever in Anthem. read more

2 stars because this morning was a zero star and the last time I was there it was about 3.5, so I think 2 is fair. In the past I went there w/ a family member who received the haircut, while I waited. The lady who cut his hair was not much for customer service, but not terrible either. She did give him a good haircut, so we were like well, OK, I guess they're worth another chance. However, I stopped in this morning and encountered the rudest lady ever. Maybe she was so cranky because she was alone and working on someone's hair? Not sure what her problem was. She greeted me rudely by yelling something across the room. Fine if she is busy and the only one there, but I cheerfully greeted her and she responded back in a snotty tone..can I do something for you..with a tone like why in the world would you actually be here??... I was a bit shocked and asked if I could get my hair trimmed. She made a nasty face and sarcastically and rudely said "NO." Silence....So I guess she thinks I'm asking a stupid question at a hair salon. I just turned around and started to leave without saying anything. About this point she managed to start walking toward the front and asked me if I wanted to come back later (again very rudely, like she was totally annoyed if I would come back). I said no, not with an attitude like that, half laughing as I left, because I just couldn't believe anyone would be so rude in a service industry, esp one linked to making tips. Good grief. I drove a mile down the road and had a very nice experience at a similar salon in the exact same price range with a nice cheerful welcome and very kind stylist. This was my second visit to Cost Cutters in Anthem. Stephanie did another terrific job cutting my hair. I have already referred several friends to her. She makes suggestions on what she thinks my hair needs and she was right. I love my haircut and more importantly, so does my husband. read more

I went to cost cutters in Anthem a few months ago. The girl did an excellent job on a color only service. So today I decided to go in for a haircut. I was trying to describe what I wanted and showed several pictures of what I liked. I asked if she could do it. She assured me that she could. Said she has been doing hair for 10 years. So I decided to trust her. Big mistake. She butchered my hair. It is choppy doesn't blend in at all. I gave her several chances to fix it. Each time she just made it worse. One side of my is framed the other is not. She said she did all she could. She treated me like it was my fault and that she just did what I said. My hair turned out nothing like any of the pictures. So then she tells me it's because I wouldn't pay for the 31.00 blow out and style. I have never been treated so rude in hair salon. She charged me full price and told me to call the manager so she could deal with me. read more
