Bertha Berlanga is a scam! I needed car insurance for my vehicle. Bertha assured me that I can get full coverage on my vehicle. She gave me a quote for liability coverage. I had to pay a down payment which up totaling to $635 plus the initial payment. She then said to give her a call after two weeks to switch over to full coverage since they can't get me in to full Coverage just yet. I tried contacting her after the two weeks. I emailed her, sent her a text message and no reply! I then contacted cost u less directly and Esmeralda told me they don't offer full coverage. It all made sense. Bertha wanted to get commission for selling false advertising car insurance and then once she received my payment she ghosted me. Esmeralda gave me a number to reach out to see if I can get a refund. I contacted them and long story short they only refunded me $100. Had I known I couldn't have full coverage I would've never wasted my time and money into this company. My vehicle needs full coverage and I obviously wouldn't buy into this if I knew they didn't offer it. I'm beyond disappointed with the service and quality of this company. I will be reaching out to the BBB in regard to this because it's false advertising. This is wrong and needs to be addressed. I want people to be aware of this issue because it can happen to you with Bertha Berlanga advertising falsely information and stealing your money. read more

Joke of a company. I literally talked to 6 different reps, who put me on hold & transferred me giving me the run around for 2 hrs. I was charged a $395 BROKER FEE! Wtf. Claire who put my papers together at the office in Stockton on the Miracle Mile, NEVER explained to me that part of my $563 "down payment" was for a $395 broker fee... for what? For her to look at a computer and print papers out for me. DO NOT sign those papers when they explain them to you & just say "initial here" READ THEM YOURSELF THEY ARE SHADY AF! I trusted her... Lesson learned & I for sure am reporting this to the BBB. The customer service line is even worse. I was scare and never had insurance before . My DUI teacher told me to go here . I came and they reassure me that they can sell me insurance for a low price and can help me. The guy that help me was a guy name Jeremiah the manager . Anyways when he was looking up prices he never told me about his $320 broker fee. And how come I got a quote & told them about my violations but it wasnt in the system when I got in the office? They BS too much!! & they act too high class!! One chick don't even smile. I'm going to give this 2 stars because over a year ago, from what I recall, signing my new car insurance policy- I had no issues. Also, I owned my car outright and just got liability for the time being (since I worked less than 3 miles from my home) and it's very reasonably priced. So 2 stars. I've never had to put in an insurance claim luckily. So I have no review on that. However, in July I switched my car insurance to a new provider to have full coverage and a bundle package I was already in for other insurance purposes. I.e home,auto etc. I tried to get in contact with Cost U Less and Western General who they had covering me. I was told in order to cancel my policy I needed to write a letter with specifics on there sign and date it and fax it in. A week later I follow up, it was not received. So I do it again..no such luck. August, the payment comes out again. Now I'm covered by two separate policies at two different entities. I was leaving town for the week and called to follow up again. I was told to fax AND email the attachment. When I return home and follow up I was continuously given the run around about how they all use the same fax number and email etc. so maybe they get misplaced.. whatever.. 8/29 I call in to follow up.. no assistance. September's payment comes out. My car is sold at this point by the way. So I fax and email them saving both confirmations this time. I then receive a letter in the mail (hoping it is a cancelation letter I open it eagerly.) it is a letter stating October's payment would be coming out soon on automatic withdrawal as every payment prior had. Steam came out my ears. I call and request to speak to a manager. After about an hour of my time multiple phone calls and transfers and holds.. I was instructed to "go into a branch" I asked why I would need to do so considering all this time I was told to do it by fax and/or email. She said because she didn't want to "keep giving me the run around since it still isn't solved" and that it would be the best route. She finds the closest branch to me, finds the hours, phone number and address. I hung up and drove there immediately frustrated with all of my documents in hand but also seeing a light at the end of the tunnel since finally someone was being honest and helpful. I drive past see the OPEN sign lit up like a Christmas tree...steam still spewing from my ears. Find parking. Grab my documents... the door was locked. Because the online hours, yelp hours, hours that the employees confirm as correct; were incorrect. Cost U Less closes an hourly EARLIER than they advertise. Thankfully I've been paying them for months longer than I was supposed to so they could afford the electricity to leave the WRONG sign plugged in. So today, trying again.. hopefully for the last time. I've been waiting for 30 minutes so far as there's only 1 employee here. At least I found something productive to do with my wait time... leave a review. My advice. Pay a little more for less headache. No insurance brokers! read more

Do not trust these people!! I called in to put full coverage insurance on my brand new car and basic liability insurance on my used 2000. Queren who did my policy put the wrong coverage on my car and did it the other way around full coverage on my used car and basic on my new one. Never once mentioned it even when I asked her what my coverage was went in a second time and asked about my coverage once again not mentioned! Fast forward to today and I got into an accident and they're saying I never had full coverage on my new car. I do realize that the consumer is responsible for signing the contracts and asking questions and it is simply the brokers job to help and answer the questions. But what do I do now after I asked these questions and I trusted these people to insure my vehicles the way I asked them to and they don't care enough to do their job correctly or even look at a computer screen long enough to answer my questions correctly. Everyone there is incompetent! Right down to the corporate office who calls me everyday other day to harass me to tell me it's not their fault mind you I have only called them once and have not called since then.
