Damn, I mean damn!!!! My friend and I stopped in for some Mexican food, after a day of shooting photos. As we walked up I noticed that the parking lot was empty, next door was a bakery and their parking lot was full. " why am I mentioning that, Read on?" I ordered a El Pastor burrito and my friend ordered a Carnitas burrito. While we waited we indulge ourselves at their free coffee bar, which had, not just coffee, but all kinds of coffee syrups that you could add to your drink, for free!!! We were given warm chips and salsa while we waited for our food, I got to say that they were very "YOU-ME" There is a nice outside patio area and on the inside they have a decorated Aztec/Mexican seemed decor. "See pictures" Ok now for the really good part, the burritos. We each were served a burrito with two sauces, one red and one green. "As always the green sauce tastes the best ;-) " The burritos were piping hot and the tortillas tasted like they were warmed on a skillet. The burrito tasted freakishly amazing!!! it had a perfect amount of blended rice, beans, meat, etc. honestly it's one of the best burritos I've had in a long, long time. Bottom line... the service was good, the food was good, the atmosphere was good, and their prices are spot on IMO. If you're in the area "avoid the busyness next-door and stop in here instead" trust me you will not be disappointed.

Ambiance is so good love the short and fat palm tree in the outdoor seating area, very good carne asada California burrito, service is quick and fast and is in a great location for a post surf meal.

Yes please!... Absolutely delicious and authentic Mexican food. While driving the West Coast on Highway 1 this is the perfect spot to stop for a bite. The service was given with attention and quick service. My family of 8 decided to dine in and it was a great ambiance... let me tell you, I was blown away with the michelada, it was DELICIOUS!... I highly recommend it. It was well done!... I am so pleased with the stop!... Enjoy!.

Great tacos and a nice place on the coast! Best meal I have had this trip to California!

Look at that free fruited water! So refreshing!

Spent the day on the beaches up and down Davenport and worked up quite the appetite. Decided to try this authentic looking Mexican restaurant cause what goes better with a long day on the beach? We stepped inside and saw a cozy, friendly, cute and clean environment with good smells emanating from the kitchen. Looked over the menu and saw a surprising selection of dishes, fairly priced. I go three of the best tacos I have EVER had. All I could keep saying was OMG OMG OMG! The nice lady who runs the restaurant came by to ask how everything was and it was so good I couldn't say anything else but OMG! BEST FOOD EVER! They have free hot coffee which was so appreciated after getting a chill on the beach getting a bit drenched by waves. And free water with fresh fruit. Who does that? This place! It is so charming, the employees so kind, and the food is so delicious. Do not pass it up!

Incredible stop on the 1 -- michelada + good food. We split an asada burrito for a mid day snack. 10/10 would stop again.

I wasn't too sure about this place so I ordered one fish taco. The gentleman even looked at me weird I don't even know why maybe I'm not even that hungry but anyways I ordered took about 10 minutes for a taco, even though I was literally the only one at the restaurant. Then someone else comes in after me orders and the gentleman brings them chips and don't bring me none right in front of my face. Overall ambience is pretty cool one through five the taco I give it a two the sauces forget it it seems like they've been in the fridge for weeks. Never coming back again for sure.

Bag chips- not made from scratch! Should be illegal!

If you walk into a Mexican restaurant & the chips clearly come from a bag -you should probably just turn around & leave! Didn't take my own advice & regretted it. Got a chili Verde burrito that had literally no flavor. Even the salsa & side sauces were bland! Sad experience!

We went here after relaxing at Shark Fin Cove, not too far at all from the restaurant. The restaurant is small and cute with lots of outdoor seating. The restroom was clean. The food was the star of the show, as it should be. I got quesabirria tacos, my siblings got carne asada burritos, husband got al pastor tacos. Everything was SHMACKIN!!!! lol. Even the horchata, and chips and salsa were flavorful. Their customer service was great also. They got my husband's taco order wrong and when they realized it, they gave us extra tacos to make up for it. Would come back here without hesitation when I'm in the area again.

Carne asada and Pastor - sooooo good!!!

This place is amazing, tacos are so good. Homemade salsa etc. The Birria is excellent, the Asada is different in a good way. This is our 2nd time here and we sure will be back.

This place was our pitstop from SF to Monterey which is almost exactly halfway of each other. We ordered a guacamole and chips and it was very fresh though it needed more salt which we added ourselves. Staffs were friendly and their bathroom was quite clean.

Order at the counter - scan to pay, many options.

We took a spur-of-the-moment day trip to Pescadero Beach with the kids this past long weekend. Usually, I pack sandwiches for beach days, but since we got a late start, we ended up looking for local spots to grab a quick bite. Amigos popped up with great reviews, and it absolutely lived up to the hype. We ordered the fish tacos and shrimp tostada for ourselves, and both were super fresh and delicious. For the kids, we got the chicken quesadilla and fries, which were a huge hit. Beyond the main dishes, the condiments really elevate the meal, the spicy habanero sauce is fantastic if you like real heat, and the pickled serranos with onions and carrots are addictively good. They have a surprisingly great outdoor seating area where you can sit back and enjoy your meal in the fresh air. Just keep in mind that it is cash only, so plan ahead before you pull up. If you're spending the day near Pescadero or passing through the area, this spot is a must visit!

They got me at chilaquiles. So hard to pass them up on a menu. I was a little disappointed when I got my plate, however, mostly because the serving size of the star of the dish, the chilaquiles, seemed small for this dish. They come with a "side" of beans, which I expected to be in its own bowl, but they were not, and took up most of the plate. No big deal. And they were very good. As were the chilaquiles. Tart and not-to-spicy green sauce that covered the thick and crispy-soft tortilla chips. The eggs were perfectly cooked over-easy and I popped one right on top of the chips so the yolk would spill down. I was happy despite the size. W ordered the portabello sandwich, which comes with blue cheese. He expected it to be served on their home-baked bread, but it was served on a soft brioche bun (the menu is unclear on this point). He didn't like the sandwich at all. Said it tasted like it was basted in butter. Since he had only a couple of bites, I swapped with him so he'd have enough food. I thought the sandwich was good, but think the blue cheese was a bit strong. Maybe that's why he didn't like it. The side salad was nothing to write home about, and seemed like they used bottled balsamic vinaigrette. It had the thick texture from a bottle. Service was just ok. Barely got a smile out of our server. So, knocked a star off for that. And average meal, knocked another star. Ambiance is nice. If I were only reviewing the baked goods, five stars!

Guests will enjoy a…read moreself-serve taco bar with 4 salsas, fresh and picked vegetables along with some spicy jalapeños and onions you don't regularly see, and warm and salty self-serve tortillas. I sure did! Today, I tried the Baja Fish Taco in addition to a super burrito. Way too much more food for me, so I figured I'd start with the fish taco since they don't travel as well. At almost $8, I thought the taco was pricy until I saw it. The fish filet is so large you can barely close the taco at all! It ate much more like a tostada in that sense, the large fish been exaggerated by the generous portions of cabbage, creamy guacamole, and the spicy salsa. The fish was crispy, abundant, and well-seasoned and perfectly complemented by the supplied toppings. There were a few opportunities where toppings had gotten knocked off and there was space to add some of their other sauces, but this is a rare taqueria item I think was perfectly balanced on its own. I'd come back just for this. I still enjoyed, but was a little torn on the super burrito I got. I got a super carnitas burrito. The additional super toppings: guacamole, cheese, sour cream, and pico all added freshness or creaminess that helped add flavor and cut down on the richness of the meat. To their credit, there was LOTS of carnitas but in my opinion they were too salty and they took away from the overall balance of the burrito, particularly in meat-heavy bites. This was somewhat remedied by adding their creamy avocado salsa, their especially tangy tomatillo salsa, or getting a bite with some of the super toppings, but the carnitas were overall disappointing. But, this wasn't my first time here! Last time I was here I had an al pastor super burrito and the balance worked much better. That burrito on its own is a safe 4 stars. Combined with the Baja fish taco and the chips and salsas/toppings? That's an easy 5 stars for my favorite Mexican food in Santa Cruz. If you're still on the fence, try the asada super burrito or stick to the fish taco and you'll be VERY impressed.
