Our first time at this restaurant was a pleasant surprise, and we appreciated the attention and the generous servings of our meals. Was so happy to visit them in their new location. Food, service and decor were great! We had 3 different types of Egg Benedict, Salmon, Bacon and Avocado and traditional. All were cooked perfectly. You could choose hash-browns or fruit and both were delicious. We were pleased that they had their cinnamon coffee at the new location too. Our Waiter was incredible. Quick service with a smile. Came with the fam, we ordered huevos rancheros 4/10 the salsa used seemed more like an enchilada sauce or Taco Bell mild sauce and there was so much of it, my plate ended up looking like a bowl of soup. Unfortunately, it didn't hit the mark. Corned beef hash and eggs 6.5/10. Chilaquiles verdes 9/10, chilaquiles rojos 10/10, Build your own omelet 7/10, iced horchata latte 12/10 it tasted earthy and cinnamony in the best way, not overly sweet like many other horchata lattes tend to be. Cafe de olla 10/10 also not extremely sweet which my parents appreciated. Staff was friendly and attentive. They asked multiple times if we needed coffee refills and if we needed anything else. Evarista's Comal is incredible! From the moment we walked in, we felt super welcomed. We ended up having the nicest conversation with the staff! It seriously felt like we were just catching up with a family member. The conversation flowed so easily, and the overall vibe completely felt like having food at an aunt or uncle's house (the ultimate Hispanic household hospitality!). Great breakfast place, family operated on top of that. Came here due to the reviews, was def worth it. We got corned beef hash, Chile Verde omelette, pancakes and avocado toast. The Chile Verde was great, salty and flavorful with a slight spiciness. Combined with the omelette, it was a great treat in the corn tortillas. Beef hash was solid, albeit not too special but the hash brown was crunchy. Pancake was fluffy and decorated with banana and strawberries. Don't expect rush service and enjoy. read more

This place is not fancy, trendy or hip. However if you want to go to a friendly cozy place with good food this is it! This is a welcoming family-owned and run place where they treat you like you are visiting their home. I enjoyed the hamburger with handmade patties that were juicy and flavorful. The only thing I would change is the bun as it got moist and was a little to soft to hold up to the hefty meat patty. The Salmon Eggs Benedict had generous portions the hollandaise sauce was particularly good and the accompanying hash browns were cooked to perfection being crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. read more

Everyone there was extremely nice, and the chef and owner even came out to talk to us. The food was fresh and delicious - made to order. We ordered: - Special Café de Olla (x2) - Mexican cinnamon spiced coffee with brown sugar - Complementary chips and good salsa. - Guacamole & Chips to share - Fried Calamari to share - very tasty and fresh! With fries, roasted chili, salsa, and burnt lemon half. We didn't see the appetizers on the menu so just ask the server and they'll let you know what they have. - Salmon Benedict - on English muffin, sliced avocado, 6 oz salmon, hollandaise sauce, and 2 poached eggs, served with hash browns or fruit cup. My daughter loved this, and the eggs were cooked perfectly. - FRIDAY WEEKLY SPECIAL - Bistek Ranchero with rice, beans, cabbage, sliced avocado, 4 corn tortillas. We returned to Evarista's Comal this weekend, having breakfast in their new location. The new spot is bright and clean and pretty. But most importantly the food is still great and the service is friendly, kind, and careful. I had an omelette with chili Verde, the filling was so good! My husband had his regular eggs and toast and bacon and he was happy. In fact, he liked it so much that we had breakfast there both weekend days, Saturday and Sunday. We're in Santa Cruz regularly and I know that we will be back to Evarista's Comal. read more

Had lunch here with my team today and loved it. The food at Evarista's Comal was AMAZING. We had the fish tacos and the birria, both were so good and the homemade tortillas were next level. Great Mexican restaurant (with a few non-mexican dishes such as burger and breakfast items) at the Capitola Mall. I'm told this restaurant just moved to the Mall (just to the left of the Main entrance) a couple months ago and it's a great addition. We went there with our dog as it's dog friendly (outside seating for that) and they brought out a nice bowl of water for our small dog. I ordered the Salmon Sandwich and it was VERY tasty - especially the bread (I wonder if they make it there as it was so fresh). We also had Rock Fish taco's (tasty and beautiful presentation) and a couple other items. Service was excellent and all the food was well prepared and tasty (my wife especially liked the tangy sauce on the tacos). Top marks for a smaller family run restaurant! It's a Thursday morning and we were welcomed warmly, the food was all really well-prepared, perfectly cooked bacon & hash browns, eggs were delicious whether scrambled or over-easy. I had to go here to check this spot out. Especially when I'm the biggest fan of Chilaquiles. I had them with a side of meat with your choice. I chose birria. I added the red salsa and it was everything I thought it would be. I also got a side of pancakes with berries and banana. I also tried the huevos rancheros. It was amazing also and one of there specials. They play really nice Mexican music and I think it's just an amazing place to have breakfast. I give this place 4 stars for the food it is really good.
