It was pretty ok and we only came here as the toilets in Starbucks directly opposite were out of order.
There were four of us so it was 3 coffees (2 latte, one flat white) 1 tea and a selection of two tray bakes and a lemon tart. Came in around £19. The coffees are the larger size portions on a default so if you don't specifically ask for the smaller size it's not served up.
The tart was for me: the lemon was smooth lemony, the tart was light, crisp and buttery and very enjoyable. I had the flat white but I prefer Starbucks.
This place is directly opposite Starbucks, their prices are similar and the notable difference is the seating. This Costa offered very comfortable seating with Starbucks not as cosy.
It was a cold Saturday afternoon, quite busy and the young staff were friendly but, like Starbucks across the way, there seems an inherent reluctance to clear and clean tables promptly. read more
