My friend told me that the place had been closed for a refurb and turns out new owners. It had only reopened 2 days before we arrived. The decor is bright, cosy and friendly. With lots of cupcake and butterfly pictures/wall stickers. The owner came over and told us that they were having a problem with the electrics so it would be a limited menu today. This was fine as we were still able to order some yummy food. I had the prawn and avocado salad which was delicious. My friend had a toasted pannini and her kids had a sandwich and beans on toast. We were all pleased with our choices. We initially sat upstairs at the window seat but when we went downstairs to the toilet the children spotted a small play area, so we decided to move downstairs to have our cakes. The staff were great and came and helped us move everything downstairs. The kids played and we got to enjoy our tea, hot chocolate and cakes. I had chocolate cake and my friend had carrot cake. We shared them with the kids and still couldn't finish them. The chocolate cake was home made and moist I really enjoyed it. All our food encluding drinks came to just under £25 which I thought was a total bargain. I will definitely be back.

Still loving everything about this coffee shop! If I were local, this would be my go-to haunt (as…read moreit is, whenever I'm in Edinburgh, I take the train just to come here and then walk the beach). The large interior has an industrial vibe while still feeling warm and welcoming, the courtyard outside is a perfect place to enjoy some sunshine (the upstairs is only open on the weekend). Get a cold brew or an iced latte or an iced Americano with oat milk - it's so good! They also have a few bakery items, including a vegan banana bread that is DELICIOUS (one of the best I've ever had). It's a thick, moist slab loaded with nuts and dried cranberries maybe? There's just something "more" to it that makes it special. I recently bought beans (flavor notes of "jammy" and "honey"; it's SO GOOD), and it seems like I can reuse the canister for a discounted refill the next time I'm here! I believe they even grind them if you want. They also have some really cool merch (tote bags [I own], beanies, shirts, etc). #CoffeeAndSocialSolidarity

We came to North Berwick from Edinburgh for the day via a very easy 30 min train ride. Steampunk is located in the back of a building on the main street of North Berwick. It is sparsely decorated but the theme seems to be related to bicycles. We stopped in for midday iced lattes and a snack. The lattes were good and I appreciate their to go cups and straws are all paper based. The granola bar we grabbed did not impress me at face value but wow was it delicious. Like chewy granola with some cinnamon added in. It was the perfect sweet pairing to the latte. There is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating here.

So it was high time that this was addressed. I tucked into a serious open sandwich of goats cheese, red pepper and caramelised red onion - and boy, it was good. Underestimating my order, I had opted for the soup and a sandwich option, but it really wasn't necessary (although the carrot and coriander soup was tasty, and had all the hallmarkings of homecooked goodness), I left, stuffed and round as a ball. No room for checking out the homebaking either, probably a good thing - but it leaves me a reason for return, instead.

On a lovely sunny morning with one of the kiddies at nursery we decided to grab brunch outside here. We were greeted by the owner who was lovely to chat to. I ordered the French toast with bacon and my partner the full Scottish. A definite Yum in both our opinions. The coffee was just delicious which I think says a lot about a place. if they take care in the bean they serve as a lot of people order it, it should be your signature. All in all great service delicious food lovely coffee. We'll be back to sample more as they also do a dinner service on a Friday and Saturday night. The menu changes every week which is excellent. I had a look at the previous weekends offerings and there was a lovely variety. 2 courses for £19.50 or 3 courses for £24. Not bad for a freshly cooked locally sourced meal. Give it a whirl.

The Edinburgh Larder was the answer. We arrived right at opening. We were seated immediately and the place is casual clean and welcoming. The service was excellent and I got the traditional Scottish breakfast. Haggis and all and it was excellent, filing and worth walking in the light mist. The Mushroom Toast was very tasty according to my wife. The place is small and part of the larger establishment next door but still the same great food. Once one area is full they will sit u to the other area! I was sitting right by the window and it was lovely. The decor is cozy and homie! The server is very friendly and I ordered full Scottish breakfast to try out everything and chai latte. It came fairly fast and it was a very full dish. I tried all the food and they are all yummy. The blood pudding is not quite my favorite. And the bean with the red sauce is a little too spicy for me. But overall it is very good. Chai latte is super yummy and not overly sweet!
