What can one add to a Costco review? Almost every store is organized in a similar fashion. This store is no exception. We arrived on a Saturday afternoon when it was at its busiest. Although we had to dodge a few carts, we were able to navigate the store and find what we wanted quickly. When we arrived at the checkout area there were enough clerks to move us forward with almost no wait. The food line was long but there was room for everyone to sit and eat and not feel rushed. The gas pumps were almost all being used but we were able to drive up to an empty pump, probably because gas was only a couple of cents cheaper than the surrounding stations. Currently $2.20 on 5/29/16. You can still use your American Express card here until June 19, 2016. read more

This Costco is a great example for all Costcos to follow. Look, we all know what a Costco is, and what to expect when you go to one. What makes one Costco better then another you ask? Well, I'm gonna tell you in a few simple bullet points. Location and ease of access Cleanliness How crowded it is, and how long you stand in line How friendly the help is Product stock These 5 items can make a 5 star Costco or a 2 star Costco, it would be really hard to have a 1 star in my opinion. Having lived in Bakersfield Ca. for most of my adult life, I have been to the 3 surrounding Cosco stores many times. Let me tell you, the main one in Bakersfield is dreadful in every way. Especially in being over populated and horrible ease of access. The CDA Costco is great, it has positive marks on all five of my bullet points. I will also add that the staff is super friendly. If I could have one request it would be that they stock the Kirkland Signature trash compactor bags! Cant have it all I guess, haha. read more

I had an Interstate car battery less than two years old that failed on a car we bought. I took it to my local tire center and they said that this is a "special type" of Interstate battery that is made only for Costco, and that it is not even made by Interstate but an off company so that the battery is cheaper. They said they would normally give an exchange for any Interstate battery under three years, but the "special Costco Interstate battery". They did a full test for me and said, yep, it is toast. So I took it to Costco - fighting the immense crowds and sneaking my way in through the EXIT so I wouldn't have to stand in "The Bread Line" to show my wife's special Costco card. After a line five people long my turn came and was told that I could NOT get an exchange under three years unless I bought it at THAT store. I asked if they could do a test to see how dead it was and the lady said "oh we don't even test batteries here. You just buy new ones" ??? So I bought a new battery. I took it home and realized that it did not have the little terminal posts attached to it. I called Costco and asked why they didn't have the mounting posts. The guy said that "all the batteries have the posts on them" ???? I asked if I could grab them off my old battery and they said that "it would not be allowed". ??? Why oh why did I buy this battery at Costco AGAIN? I really wanted to return the battery but did not want to fight the hordes of people, the Bread Line and the helpless staff. I went to my local tire center and picked up a few of the little screw in posts for a few bucks. Thank goodness for small town businesses and SHAME on Costco. Service was appalling, their knowledge about their products was non-existent, and their whole customer service culture was a sham. read more

What a day, went out to a tire almost flat this morning. I had bought new Michelin tires at Costco and had about 30,000 miles on them and the tires were wearing way to fast. At on r of the tire stores a salesman told me about problem with the Costco Michlin tires. So I decided to do what I said I wasn't going to do ever again, I went back to Costco tires explained the situation, they agreed what the prior salesman said about the sub standard quality of those particular tires. He measured the tire wear, took in account I had bought them about 35,000 miles ago minus the months not used for snow season and gave me a quote for $109.99 to replace all four tires. Costco and Michelin rule. Thank you guys for standing behind your products and for taking care of it without any debates or hassles. read more

It's a Costco....so it's the same here as every other one right? Not exactly What it has going for it: - similar Costco layout (stuff is easy to find if you have been to another Costco) - many products are a good value - having someone at checkout box up your items is nice - food court prices are ridiculously cheap - Kirkland makes some good products (ie. dog food) - their gas is the cheapest in town What it has going against it: - parking can get crazy at peak times - front take certain credit cards So it is same Costco you would find in other parts of the country. One difference about this Costco compared to the ones I have gone to in the NYC area is that they have people to box up your items. It was suck a pain to go to the box bin and find a box that would fit your stuff and do that in enough time that you didn't back up the check out line. It always annoys me that I could never leave this place with a bill less than $100....that's my problem I guess, not there's. Great for them, not so much for me sometimes. I was in the store for the first time doing Instacart and I was very overwhelmed and couldn't find a lot of the items I needed. I asked one of the employees, Ali, for assistance and she was very knowledgeable for only being there for a few weeks. She was extremely helpful and kept giving a sense of comfort when I ran into her a few times around the store. She was extremely kind and genuine. Because of her, we will most likely become Costco members. Also, shout out to the rest of the team there. Everyone was exceptionally friendly and helpful. read more

Manager John and his staff in the eyeglasses department are top notch. I scratched a lens on my eye glasses that were 9-10 months old and no excuses or complaints. With a smile I was taken care of and in four days had my replacement. I will only use this Costco for my future eyeglass needs. read more

I have shopped at Costco since I was two years old. Since I was 15 I was able to go into Costco and use my mom's Costco card to check out. Yesterday, they told me I couldn't pay for my $300+ cart of groceries because my face and name didn't match the card. The cashier called the supervisor over and she told me that I was lying about me using it before, and took my cart away. It's clean, the staff is friendly and helpful, the parking lot is nice and big and even when you have to wait in line, you get through quickly. Once again, I tried to place an order on costco.com., put on waiting list, no answer, message saying we are now closed. I have never dealt with an online business that closes. If an order doesn't go through there are options. Not at costco, no online chat, no 24 hour service, and no response when I requested a call back. I have received a costco rebate and it is obvious it will not be honored. I lost $80.26 because they do not have staff to respond to customers. My only advice is to talk to a human, get names, have it put in writing, and then decide if it is worth it. Then shop somewhere else. Very disappointing customer service! My parents are elderly and my mother requires a wheelchair when shopping there. This particular Costco is far more inconsiderate of the handicapped. For as many handicapped parking spaces you'd think they would offer as many or more wheelchairs. I can't tell you how many times we've had to leave and not shop there because the lack of chairs. We have mentioned this to the staff before only to be told they are sorry. How is it that other Costcos have numerous chairs lined up and never a lack of finding one? I wasn't very impressed with this Costco. Even on a slow day it was a bit of a mess. It's bad when you are walking around, and you see some of the workers just standing there looking around, not really doing much. I think the worst part of it was waiting in line at the food court area looking in where they make the pizzas. Not one, not two, but at least six flies my 5 year old daughter counted. We definitely didn't order pizza, but assumed the hotdog would be ok. Man was I wrong. The bread was stale and the hotdog was cold. read more

Employees at this particular Costco have quite the holier-than-thou attitude. It's a smaller Costco so don't expect to find everything you're used to buying at Costco if you're from out of town. The placement of the items in the store makes no sense whatsoever. I called the pharmacy at 6:55 asking if I could still come in and get my prescription filled, and she said "Sure, come on in!" but when I got there, it was 6:59 and the pharmacist said I had to come back tomorrow. They finally got the self-checkout, like every other Costco has had for years, so hallelujah. read more

I needed to get supplies and they wouldn't let me in because I wasn't wearing a mask. Basically humiliated me. It is hard to breathe with a mask on so I don't wear one. I did a lot of research before I bought my first pair of hearing aids last year from Costco. I then waited a year to provide feedback so I could speak from experience. In brief, Costco's price, product and service are exceptional. I have zero complaints and could not be happier. The Costco Signature line compares to the best competitors on the market. Indeed, Costco contracts with a only the best manufacturers to provide its products and customers benefit from extremely low prices through the resulting bulk purchases. I paid half what I would have paid from any of the top four competitors. I gained far more insights from Costco professional staff than I did from the so-called experts at two other hearing centers - with NO pressure or sleezy sales gimmicks. After-sale service has been shockingly outstanding, with not a penny extra charged. They even clean the hearing aids for free when I take them in. My batteries are incredibly cheap and last 4-5 days, per their advertising. My Bluetooth capability is priceless. I love being able to walk/hike while playing my iPhone music. I can make a range of modification to my "hearing" by my phone app as well. Restaurants can be a big challenge for people with hearing problems. I just go to my app, hit "cafe" and background noise is wonderfully reduced. Lots of other context options as well. People are always surprised when I tell them I wear hearing aids. Practically impossible to see! Save time and get Costco Signature aids. I'm thrilled. Get thee to any other Costco, like the ones in Spokane Valley or out on Division. I'm used to brusque or super-busy Costco employees. The ones here are lazy, inefficient and a couple are downright nasty. Shame, because this one usually has something in stock when the other two run out of it. Store itself is fine, but don't bother using their tire center. I ordered snow tires online and received an email saying they'd shipped and I'd get a call when they were received to schedule installation. Well 3 weeks later and still no call, I called the warehouse. I was told "oh yeah they've been here" - the woman was pretty rude. Great. So I come in to get them installed the next day before another storm hits. I'm quoted an hour and 15 minute wait. An hour and 45 later still haven't gotten a call that my car's ready. After waiting in line 15 minutes I'm told "oh yeah that car's good to go". Who knows how long it's been ready at this point. So I'm told to walk around to the outer doors and they'll back it out. I walk around, stand in the rain for several minutes, cars not coming out. Someone pulls up in a car with their cigarette hanging out the window next to me (I'm visibly pregnant), blocks the bays, and the mechanics start coming out to chat with her. My car is still not out. So I stand in the rain inhaling some more smoke (if I move I won't be able to see my car come out) before the guy who told me to walk outside finally sees me and goes to get my car. Ridiculous. 2.5 hours later, no service, no respect for my time. There's nowhere to wait except the crowded food court, no sheltered areas outside, nothing. Not worth the cheap tires. I will be paying someone else to do all the tire maintenance they do free with the tire purchase just to avoid ever setting foot into this miserable place again. read more

I am from San Diego but went to this Costco three times during a two week visit to Northern Idaho. Yeah it's still a costco but I like to see new ones to see if there are any different items. I actually noticed there seem to be a few items at this one I didn't recognize that aren't carried in Southern California. Costco membership is a no brainer purchase especially paired with the Citi credit card. You can probably pay for your membership just with the 4% cash back for gas. The store prices aren't the cheapest of you want to shop at 5 different stores, but overall the quality and price is a tough combination to beat in my opinion. Costco's buying power is very strong and keeps prices low to consumers. Obviously just make sure that you are going to be able to use the higher bulk items to maximize your value. I am very happy CDA has a great Costco for my future trips up to Idaho! read more

I am not usually the person who does this but what happened to my husband today crossed a line and we will no longer be shopping at Costco. In fact, I will be marching my butt back in there tomorrow and cancelling my membership. My husband was at the Coeur d'Alene, ID Costco picking up Food Court food for me and decided that he also wanted some Peanut Butter Pretzels that he loves very much. He noticed that the people helping him check out were short, rude, and were not very friendly. It put him off. He then went to the Food Court on his way out and picked up some food. Mindlessly, he threw away his receipt during his transaction at the Food Court. On his way out he explained that he had accidentally thrown the receipt away, it was only the $8.00 Peanut Butter Pretzels he had!!! The receipt checker insisted that he had to go back and get a receipt from the checker. At this point, he is absolutely done with dealing with the staff at Costco that he just dropped the pretzels (THAT WE PAID FOR) and walked out. Learn to be more compassionate to people. No one that he came in contact with was understanding or helpful. We are finished with Costco and will request a full refund for our membership. read more

Costco Photo! Christmas Card season beware!! I'm reviewing the photo dept. only! Their website is most annoying, Got the wrong pictures on the card which is bizarre to me because when I went through the process of agreeing to the layout it did not print out the way I had agreed to it. So, now I have 50 cards with 2 of the same pictures on it. Than when I called the store, I spoke with someone that was rude and wanted to pass me off as fast as possible. I was going to let the whole thing go cause who cares and there's a lot of actual important things to think about, but after I got off the phone with the person at the Coscto store I got mad. So, if a review is all I can do at least maybe I can warn someone else to always check your stuff before you leave the store and beware of their web site. I should've gone with Vista print! The manager (short bald guy) in a the optical department was rude and of no help at all when me and my dad (65 years old) went in to get his glasses fixed. His attitude as he was leaning on the counter chatting to his co workers was cocky, spitting out that "we don't deal with parts, you'll just have to go online and look". I must be going to this Costco at the wrong times, because the employees that I have experienced here were really unattentive and even rude. An example of a recent experience... Not knowing that you couldn't pay with cash at the self check out, I was lectured by the attendant after I had completed scanning everything as though i was an idiot for not knowing this rule. (Sorry but everyplace else that forces you ring up your own purchases or risk waiting in line for 30 minutes takes cash at their self-checkouts, it is the easiest & most profitable way for them to receive the money). Then I was made wait at the front of the store for a customer service person to help me with my cash transaction. The man saw me walk up and continued his (non-work related) conversation with a coworker for nearly 5 minutes before helping me! I couldn't believe it. Really makes me appreciate the local grocery stores (ie. Super 1) who take the time to make sure your well taken care of. read more

I would give it 5 stars if it was one of the larger sized stores like they have in Spokane. They did recently expand but it still does not have the selection that the 2 stores in Spokane have. Like other Costco's they have great prices on quality meat, produce, food items, and just about anything else including gasoline. read more

Ok so we love getting a slice of pizza on our way out of Costco once in a great while but have never bought one of their take n bakes. I was at work today and my husband decided to get one of those for when I got off. OK fine. Directions said cook at 400 for 10 to 15 min..which we did. But the dough was still dough. Cooked it some more for another 5 min. Took it out and tried to eat. Disgusting. We ended up tossing it and ordering a dominoes which I hate slightly less. Well not true I hate dominoes a lot. Our local Costco here in Clarkston, WA, said that the Coeur d' Alene Costco had 32 Nintendo Wii's in stock. So, I called up to the CdA Costco. Not only did they have them, but they held one for us, and were extremely friendly. (It took me about 3 hours to drive to CdA from Clarkston). There were also super friendly when we went to pick it up. I was tickled! read more

As far as the people who pass out samples go, half are quite friendly. There are a few older women who actually snap at you if you ask about ingredients in the food that they are sampling. Some people have allergies, so at least have the bag out so I can read the ingredients, please! read more

Love shopping Costco but their policy of letting animals in the store is terrible. Service animals for blind and service people are find. But the little old ladies that bring their dogs in on leashes and the dog is wander all over the aisle. The old ladies are looking elsewhere and are oblivious to what their dog is doing. Costco wake up and ban these animals from the store. Others are there to shop and not navigate around dogs. This is the second time i have seen this in Costco.
