I've shopped at a lot of Costco warehouses in different states, and this is consistently a poor store. I will say the checkers are usually pleasant or nice and usually do a good job, but on multiple occasions I do have products destroyed, such as putting a heavy box on top of milk causing the milk to burst the seal and bend the opening down, or similar things. If there is a hiccup with anything, the store seems to just fall apart and the most prominent staff are horrendous. Happened with a fire alarm when they make everyone evacuate but bottleneck at the door to check receipts (violation of fire code). It happened again today as they were keeping well over 100 customers outside the store (probably closer to 200+ people including frail elderly). We have a winter weather advisory starting today, too. The staff doing this are rude and aggressive. The store isn't even nearly as busy as it is the last two or three months of the year. If this is because of Covid-19 panic, they were creating unsafe conditions and don't understand infection control in the least (not to mention there are ZERO confirmed cases in our area). I hate this store. If there were another warehouse store of any good chain within an hour of me, I would go there instead. I would give this location no stars, but when everything is running smoothly, they do have some nice employees to interact with and they can keep things stocked well. If the wind blows the wrong way, all the mean staff start acting terribly. I have serious doubts about the quality of management here, too. When I've complained, they deny that what I've described has happened. Stephanie the store manager has done this twice while being in the middle of it all. She will say, "IF what you say happened, which I'm sure it would never ..." Very rude, incompetent. Not sure why she's manager. I don't expect any improvement without a change in management and culture of this store. read more

I really appreciate that each Costco is laid out in a similar fashion. It makes running in & grabbing the items I need a lot quicker. The prices & quality of their products have been consistent & the very few times over 20 years that we've had s problem with anything they've always made it right. The delicious food samples, variety of products, reasonable prices & helpful staff keep us coming back. read more

Love the store but recently found their Photo Deparment very unprofessional. I had nine CD's to pick up and was told she could only give me five with the monthly coupon ad price. I asked her if I could pick up the remaining four another day and use the coupon then. She smiled and gave me and the wife a wink and nod and said, I can't say anything. So we come back another day to get the remainder, she gets them and goes straight to the phone and calls a supervisor on us. Then comes up to us and tells us that she will not give us the ad discount because five is the limit and we already used that. Well if she would have said that on the first day instead of the wink and nod we could have saved a trip and the embarrassment. read more

Optical Department ROCKS. Service personal is friendly, knowledgeable and polite. Selection of name brand frames is wonderful. Hardest part is which frame to pick... because the savings are so incredible... yup I bought 2 pair- everyday wear and treated myself to my first ever prescription sunglasses. Did I mention the price was fantastic? It was AWESOME! I think I have told everyone person I saw today my story of shopping for eye-wear at Costco: a random store clerk, my insurance agent, my mail person, my neighbors and more. This Costco was every bit as well appointed as my SODO Seattle Costco and they let me use the same coupons! It was a little crowded for a weekday I thought but the line wasn't too bad. They don't carry my favorite low carb tortillas or flax meal (like in Seattle) but they had the scoop away kitty litter I swear by :) read more

I rarely ever write reviews, but when I have poor service from two different people (one being a manager) and all within an hour of each other, I feel it's warranted. I bought a new battery 2 months ago, it's a bad battery. Drove my car to Costco so they could test it and replace it. I found out that they don't test batteries or replace them. No big deal except I wasn't sure how I was going to get the battery back to Costco with no car. Asked the service man if I could borrow a wrench because it literally takes 2 minutes to change out a battery. Nope! They don't have any for me to borrow. I'm just a little frustrated now. I drive home, take battery out, borrow a car, drive back (40min if driving) exchange battery. I asked to speak to a manager, Nick says he's the manager. I tell him what happened only because the info could be used to improve service. He blows me off, doesn't even apologize! Now I'm pretty mad. What happened to common curtesy? Normally my husband would take care of this but he's off serving our country. I'm not a helpless female, all I wanted was to change out my battery and be on my way. My husband wouldn't have hesitated for a second to help someone out. That's what makes a real man, a real human being. The two boys that "helped me" are not men. Quite displeased. read more

Great place to shop in bulk and save money. I have found all employee are great and helpful in both Spokane, WA store or any store I have been to. Just bought couple cell phone there very happy with those too. My membership is what I love the best because if I need to take something back no question ask and either give me cash back or cash card which can be used in store or to purchase fuel. Went in to Costco Coeur d alene, shopped and on way out stopped for my usual polish and drink. My wife ordered the carne asada bake and as she was eating it, she discovered it was not fully baked but ate part of it. I took what was left to the counter and laid it down and told the UNFRIENDLY clerk about it. She replied,"What do you want me to do about it".. I said I just wanted to let you know it was not properly prepared. I did not ask for my money back. Then she told me to take it off the counter because she wasn't allowed to touch it. She needs to go back to Taco Bell to try to learn basic customer service. read more

This is a great Costco. But it could be larger because the next closest is in Spokane and people drive from all over Canada ,Montana,Sandpoint and other surrounding areas. It gets crazy busy you would think theirs road rules with the carts but theirs not people are going against traffic,their slamming on the breaks for samples so just remember to relax or go on week days.All the staff are both very nice and helpful.They seem to all have a certain spring in their step very high energy.other than that its a Costco. read more

So, it is quite frustrating to be in a super busy warehouse not to mention the bustling parking lot, but Costo quality and prices are ofter unsurpassed. While I enjoy many employees at the Coeur d'Alene Costco, many are short tempered with customers and not into customer service or the customer is always right attitude. I am sure being in the service industy is not for everyone, but I wish the Cd'A Costco would be more choosy when hiring service employees and emphasize that most who shop at Costco pay a lot for their quality and all of them are returning customers because they have a membership fee that ensures this. It is best to please customers whenever possible; and though it may be inconvenient, remember that the customer is always right. Train them to go above and beyond like many other Costco employees that have built such a strong reputation for the brand and an overall enjoyable experience. read more

We love Costco and have shopped at there stores for years. We used to have to travel over a 100 miles one way to find a store. My only complaint is that there men's clothing gets worse every year. It's usually cheap and inferior quality. I would pay more if they kicked it up a notch. Other than that it's the best place to shop for most everything. I joke with my family that if they ever open up an upper deck to residential condos I would have buy one. read more

I work at Express Scripts Pharmacy. I make outgoing phone calls to pharmacies every day. By far best pharmacy I've spoke with; I wanted Chevy from the pharmacy recognized for his outstanding customer service. He was more than willing to help with the issue at hand, and was concerned for the patient. You could tell, this is not just an every day job for him. I've gone to many Costco's and this store is fine but the food court is the worst I've ever experienced. And not just on one occasion. I've stood in line at the food court and instead of bringing out more help from the back when the lines get long, they continue to have just one to two employees up front. This has happened several times. Also, I've called in to order a pizza, did some shopping, gone to the food court to pick up the pizza that was supposed to have been done within a half an hour, only to find that they hadn't started it yet. Their excuse was, they've been busy, yet there were no lines! I've never posted anything negative on a site before in my life, but I just have to give the Coeur d'Alene, ID Costco a thumbs down!! Get it together food court - all you have to do is look at other Costco food courts to see how they are running them. read more
