While no business is immune from unfair complaints, publicly attacking customers rather than responding professionally reflects poorly on this establishment. These responses are easily searchable and speak for themselves. I strongly recommend reviewing these interactions before choosing to do business here. In addition, the owner has been openly vocal online about political positions. Business owners are entitled to their beliefs, however, when those views are publicly promoted in connection with the business, they become part of the brand. While I know many individuals in the area may share these positions, consumers who are mindful of where they direct their spending, particularly in today's political climate, may want to consider this context. Beyond the online presence, my in-store experiences have also been disappointing. On more than one occasion, employees have failed to greet or acknowledge me, and I have stood at the counter waiting for assistance while staff members walked by without engaging. Although many staff members appear to be high school students, which is not inherently problematic, a basic level of attentiveness and customer service is expected and doesn't go unnoticed. I share this so others can make informed decisions. I encourage anyone considering supporting this business to review the owner's public interactions and statements firsthand.

I've had horrible experiences with employees that left me baffled and extremely disappointed, barely palpable and non-memorable interactions that were negative or neutral, and a very small number of genuinely pleasant exchanges with certain employees. The pricing is standard for T.J. Maxx which means expensive and quickly adds up. Overall, I'd still recommend checking this location out for the fun of finding something cute and unique. Just be mindful of the sharks for employees!

One encounter I had was incredibly hostile, and unfortunately, my nephew, a minor, was there to experience a grown man who was a Target employee who targeted my nephew with racism, projected hatred, and entitlement. I asked the Target employee a simple question while checking out. The man was volatile in his retort. The employee screamed at us in an attempt to humiliate us in front of others, and then aggressively threw a basket in our direction. It was an absolutely unacceptable and inappropriate experience. It was clear that the man had a mental health illness and had not been a safe individual to work within a shared environment. He was easily triggered. I reported this man to the manager, and it was handled immediately. As for the value of the products in the store, I would say it is mid-range, with high pricing. You can easily overspend so definitely go in there with a conscious budget.

I was later told that the manager said I only received credit for the money I spent and would not be receiving the money that I earned in their so called loyalty program back. After having spent $1,000 at their store over the years, I apparently received a $50 credit to use at checkout. I was so excited as I didn't even know it existed! When I brought one of the items back that I purchased, to get a store credit, so I could get something else from their store, the manager said that I was given a "gift" of $50 and lost that when I brought the item back. It would have been nice of them to tell me I could exchange it for the same amount that was spent, but they never said anything. I'm not sure how they figure that into their "loyalty" credit, but was saddened by the disloyalty I received after having shopped there for so many years. They apparently care more about keeping $50 than they do earning $1,000. I still can't wrap my head around it. However, it left such a bad taste in my mouth that I won't be giving them my business. It's a small town and word gets around, when customers aren't treated with respect. As their sister store, Sage, is run by the same family, I also won't be supporting their business anymore. Sad day, as Just Because was my favorite boutique in the area.

This store is okay. It was clean and fairly organized. The selection of clothes was okay. The dressing rooms were okay. The check-out experience at the cash was okay. Everything was passable; just nothing stood out as being stellar, or really anything to write home about. I ended up getting two tops for $12.99 each. The price points of clothing (and most other merchandise) are consistently good at TJ Maxx, wherever you go. Therein is the major draw. All in all, if I had a longer stay in Spokane next time I'm down this way, I'd probably return to check out what's here, as it is hit-or-miss if you find something. But if I were only in town for a weekend (like this past visit), I'm not sure I'd swing by.
