I like the set up here in Gilroy photo and optical in the front as you walk in. Parking sucks but the store is clean and organized however The manager Robert in the bakery and the worker Fausto were not member friendly they lacked professionalism and their communication style was totally inappropriate and aggressive ! I had to get a third associate to help me and luckily I i was able to get something as small as silk milk 60 . This is a nice Costco, and the place has some unique products and offerings for Gilroy, not found at other locations too. I can rarely complain about any Costco unless faced with poor service or finding crowds galore where it takes forever to shop and check out to pay. I come here most Sundays for gas. The attendants are friendly and helpful. Once I didn't have my card with me and the attendant was kind enough to assist me. I also needed air in my tire and was instructed to go to the tire department and they would fill them for me. I pulled out my manual, but didn't need it. The worker showed me that the recommended tire pressures are in the door frame. Ok, so I didn't know that. Maybe you did. But I love when I learn something new, no matter how small. Now this gasoline station has three pumps in each lane. This was so much faster. Thanks Costco. read more

My husband wanted to pick up a Pizza without me (im the card holder with the Costco account) and I wasn't sure if he would be able to go inside to the food court, without me. So I googled the question, and on Costco's main website it says "Yes, you can visit Costco Food Court without a Membership. However, you will not be able to take your Food and eat it in the store's Dining area, which is only available to members. Costco Food hall offers some of the best deals in town on hot dogs and burgers, as well as other Fast-Food fare like pizza." He called the Gilroy location, and spoke to Michael in administration. Michael answered the phone with attitude "This is Michael" and no other introduction. My husband still respectfully asked his questions, and Michael told him that "no, Costco's website is incorrect and you are not allowed to eat there without a membership". My husband asked for clarification, and whether this only referred to interior food courts vs locations with exterior food courts, and Michael responded with "I already told you" When my husband tried to clarify just one more time and ask if he would be able to utilize the food court and another location if it was outdoors, Michael's response was "If that's what you want to do." And then Michael hung up on my Husband !!! If this is a representation of customer service, to someone who is not a member, Michael would have single-handedly turned away a potential new member. read more

I hope to update my review in the future I know this Costco has the potential to do better, it takes up an entire day to wind up my elderly parents to do their monthly Costco grocery shopping so we finish up by 8:30-8:40 pm and mind you there was still an overflow of customers but still they decide to close off the bathroom with the aggressive cleaning water everywhere my mom couldn't use the bathroom and we don't live in town either. I hear workers complain that they have to work too while I was shopping don't get me wrong some departments are really nice and we're nice customers but there's a line they've crossed in customer service when my mom couldn't use the bathroom. ...for the pharmacist who you HAVE to see after you make your purchase from the super friendly people who help you beforehand. Those people have been consistently nice, so 4 stars for them. The pharmacist, the female Asian (I say this because if there's another pharmacist, I don't want to implicate them. I'll make sure to get her name next time so that I can be more specific and will update accordingly) is ALWAYS rude and condescending, to the point where she has rolled her eyes when finding out that you are picking up a prescription for someone else. When I have gone, she is abrupt and sighs if I have a question. Today, I had the prescription in my hand and told her that I had taken these before so I proceeded to place it back in the bag and she snatched it out of my hand and shoved it back into the bag. She turned and walked away while I was still gathering the bag. I get having a bad day, but she seems to have a lot of them. I understand what 'curt' is, but she's just plain rude. People who pick up prescriptions either for themselves or others may be going through some major health issues and should be dealt with a bit more sensitivity. She's a hard pill to swallow. read more

I have been to Costco many times and I need assistance due to a torn rotator cuff. Charlie is always there to load things in my car with a huge smile on his face and he is very kind. Worst tire service ever. Bought tire 2/29/24. Made appointment for 3 pm on 3/2/24 to replace the one tire. Did not receive car until 5:30 pm. A 15-minute job took 2.5 hours!!!! I even put the tire lock on the driver's seat so no excuse there! read more

Really surprised that I haven't reviewed this place yet. It's awesome. The gas station always seems busy, but the warehouse is mostly less crowded than other Costco locations, and it's located a few minutes from the highway depending on traffic lights. A few anecdotes about various highlights of the Costco experience follow: - I now call this the "warehouse of tapas" due to the variety and small portions of the delicious samples. Came here on Saturday and got treated to things like cheeses, tamales, orange chicken, and a smoked salmon with cream cheese on cracker, with a little bit of mustard on top. - I took advantage of a special event this weekend where they had apparel from my favorite NHL team, the San Jose Sharks. There were two styles of hooded sweatshirts for $30, which I felt was cheaper than I saw at other places that sell sports apparel, as well as a reversible pullover jacket for $40 and a long sleeve crew neck shirt for $20. I went for one of the sweatshirts only, but it was nice to see them feature this particular product. - At the end of checkout, I asked the clerk to put a very berry sundae on the tab since I wasn't driving today. Went straight to the pickup line at the food court and it was pretty packed. I had some trepidation because I remembered one time at a different location when nobody was even there to look at my receipt. This time, one of the cashiers noticed that her coworker was having a tough time at the pickup window and stepped over to help us, which was much appreciated because we had already paid. Props to this person for speeding up the line, as well as to the guy who diligently wiped the sides of the cup with my sundae because a little bit had apparently spilled over the edge. I've always enjoyed this location for the past several years, and although it seems busier now, it's still a nice shopping trip on the weekends and even... nostalgic. read more

This costco is bomb. Coming from LA the lines here are a cakewalk. Staff us pretty friendly and helpful. Can't deny the indelible euphoria from getting their $5 rotisserie chickens whenever I come in or their parmesan bagels baked in store that cannot be beat. Costco's Verizon branch is the ONLY place I would suggest Verizon customers go to. It by far has better customer service than going into one of their stores. I was due for an upgrade and I got the phone I wanted. Brian assisted me, after asking him a few questions he made some helpful suggestions and one hour later i finally made a decision. I am happy with the phone I chose. It all worked out phenomenally. I gained a new phone for a great bundle without bleeding my bank account dry. But please if you don't believe me, go in and find out for yourself! The people who work here know EXACTLY what their job title means and how to handle that responsibility! Worst Costco DO NOT COME HERE. I've been to this location a couple of times and have been very disappointed lately. Employees are very rude and seem like they hate their job. They are super inconsistent and double charged us for items multiple visits and then have us wait in a long line to get our money back. You would think people would take more pride in their job since they are getting paid for working. My recommendation for Costco in Gilroy is to hire better quality workers if you want your customers to continue to spend money here. read more

I stopped her as part of my road trip and even though i had my small dog in a zipped up carrier, they wont let me bring her in becausei was honest and said she was mot a service dog. Meanwhile, anyone else who is willing to bs can bring in their pets. Here's what I saw while I was here: 2 workers at the gas station, both inside the booth. This station has 3 pumps which means it is hard to see if there is an opening when you're in line. About half of the cash registers were opened and each had 3 or more people in line. 2 workers at entrance, chatting. 2 workers at exit, but this is normal. This Costco is probably a low traffic Costco so IDK why there were two workers at the front and gas station or why they didn't open more registers where there were 3 or more per register. read more

Overall, the selection isn't bad but the Almaden Costco is my favorite. Since, I was running errands at the Gilroy outlets it only made sense to swing by here first for gas and my household items. On our trips between northern and southern Cali, my wife and I stop at this Costco Gas in the lovely town of Gilroy. The Costco Gas is located on the north side of the 152 and Camino Arroyo just past the Walmart and Chuck E Cheese. The Costco Gas has twelve fueling stations to get people in and out. The times we arrive here, the gas lines are pretty empty. Cheap gas for the road, can't beat it. read more

Always get gas here when I'm by the 101 and 152 Biggest selection of Dog/Cat Food I've ever seen, a whole aisle dedicated just to that. They sell those reusable bags (4 pack for $6) that bears the SF Bridge logo. The beers are on the NW corner of the store and it's not that big You can find one of those Reusable growlers here for $30. Fast and easy food court selection compared to the one in San Jose. After you order from their self order machine you can pick up your food from the order pickup line. The guy was busy making everyone's order at the same time instead of focusing on one persons order so that it would quickly move, but we all had to wait until he finished prepping all our hot dogs. Tried to cancel 24 hour membership and they wouldn't help me because I brought my phone to show them the cancellation forms but they needed it printed. As for the whole store, they never have as much as other locations here; there's always a need for another trip to walmart or safeway after I come here. The pizza once took 45 minutes, because I saw them giving out my same pizza order to other random people in any order. You basically ignore the line here and ask them for your order and they give it to you, stupid. Why isn't this a 1 star? Parking is easier than other costcos and line moves pretty fast. read more

Best time and days to come is during the week and shortly after opening. However the weekends aren't as painful like the Costco off Coleman or off Auto Mall in Fremont/Newark. The service is friendly at the photo center, which is great! Went for passport photos and waited no more than 15 minutes. Watch out for Tammy at the door. She waS so rude my husband was ahead of us and had the basket and receipt I didn't notice my 13 year old was holding the leggings I had bought her there. She got loud made a scene wouldn't even wait for my husband to bring me the receipt before calling security and telling others in line that I was trying to steal pants. Anyhow after showing proof the $20. Pant were paid for she had the nerve to tell me and you still keep talking all I was asking was for her to quiet down and not Embarrass me while waiting for the receipt. Anything much different about this Costco compared to other Costcos? Yes and no. Here's why. Pros: - Has a self-serve kiosk. No more waiting in those super long lines! Order from the machine, get your receipt, and give your receipt to the person at the counter, who will bring you the items you ordered. - Indoor food court. That's self-explanatory. - Some innovation in the restroom! You don't have to push or look under every restroom stall door to see if it's available cuz the restroom locks tell you which stalls are opened and occupied! Cons: - Very little sample stands. There were only 3 when I came here in the afternoon. I know, I know. I was bummed out too, since everyone comes to Costco for the free samples. read more

Keeping the community safe even after Cali's June 15th opening. Doesn't bother me. Products vary per month. Usually can find what you're looking for. Help from clerks is good even with newer employees. Vendors are not pushy. We got a great deal on a smoker and the price was good as well as the quality. Some pricing is higher than some retail or online stores but with anything you still have to price shop. The convenience is there especially with gas and product returns. read more
