Let me start by saying I love Costco. I've been a Costco member for years. I am so disappointed by this location. It's convenient and close to home but I will not be coming back. I will be making the drive to any of the other locations. I don't normally come to the Kirkland location, and my last two visits have given me more reason to stay away. The first, was a very cranky cashier. They tried to help unload my cart, which I always appreciate, but I told them I had two separate orders in the same cart so I could keep them separate. After an eye roll and rudely dropping the item back into the cart, they went back to scanning. I can understand how it may be annoying to have to slow down for someone with two separate orders, but working as a cashier at a wholesale store, I'd think they'd be used to a variety of orders. As I was waiting for the rest of my items to scan, I forgot to tap my card and the cashier waved their hand in my face and towards the pay pad. I guess words were lost on them. Second time, I was told to be patient "like a lady" by the cashier when I asked for a second box since the first one was full and my items were staring to pile up. I was asked if I wanted a second cart, I said no since I was already pushing the store cart and a baby stroller. After I said no to both the cashier and the person boxing my items, they continued to look around for an empty cart and load it with the rest of my items. After paying, as I struggled to maneuver two store carts and a stroller (thankfully I had some help), the cashier then decided to ask if I need help out, as they already start scanning the next customers things. To top it all off, the gas station was closed for some reason (it wasn't closing time), big bummer. After years of being a member and shopping at Costco, the worst Costco experiences happen at the same location. I'm very disappointed in the Kirkland Costco and do not plan on returning. read more

It's Costco, a wholesale store. And like any popular wholesale store, expect a lot of people on the weekends, probably all day unless there is a Seahawks game going on. The lines are going to be relatively long. They usually have most items unless there is an issue with a supplier as a result of the quarantine or something similar. Weekdays (and some weekends) early when they open and midday is not as busy. Even when they are busy they do an effective job of managing the chaos by adding additional checkers and personnel to help unload/load your shopping items. The store is clean with no red flags, even in the restroom. They get a lot of traffic and the restrooms are relatively clean. I'm very thankful living this close to a Costco. It helps my family save on buying bulk items. Solid 4.5. Sometimes the staff is too busy to help when you need to find something but that is somewhat expected. read more

This review is for the self-check out and service. I regularly shop at costco and my recent interaction with an employee a few weeks ago was unpleasant. I decided to use self-check out. We were greeted by an employee with a condescending tone, letting us know that we would be at the door for a long time while the people check our receipt cause we're getting "A LOT" of items and using self-check out. It's Costco. Most people buy in bulk and no where in the self-check out area states that there's an item limit for you to use it. Costco's website also says that it is not an express lane cause on average their customers shop for 16 or more items. We had 23 items. We've had incidents before where an item was scanned twice by a cashier at other Costco locations, so when there's a self-check out option I opt for it cause it's easier for me to know exactly what I'm scanning and how I'm putting them back in my cart. Plus sometimes I would prefer to do things myself and limit interaction. The comment from the employee was unnecessary and self-check out is available for a reason so Costco customers can use it. read more

I have been shopping at Costco since 2016 and always loved it. I don't usually return stuff so I had no idea what the return policy was (assumed was great) until yesterday I brought a rotten watermelon. I called the store and told them that what happened and that I would like to get a refund. The lady on the phone told me that I have bring the rotten watermelon in to show it to them because some people have been abusing the return policy. I was actually shocked when she asked me to bring the rotten watermelon back since clearly I already cut it open. I mean, I understand where she is coming from but really? Abusing the system with A $4 watermelon? Absolutely horrible customer experience! I hope there's a main customer service that I can report this. read more

Been here a couple years coming from Lacey. Costco on this area were packed with people. I'm spoiled in Lacey, at anytime when I go shopping not too many people around. One thing is great though that no more outsiders coming to get food at the deli and it's for the members only. read more

It's a Costco, like many other ones. This is is a bit smaller than other ones in the area, but they have a good selection of items. The parking lot gets pretty packed at peak hours. There is also a gas station section. Overall the Costco is pretty clean, and you can get in and out in a reasonable amount of time if you go at the right time. read more

The cashier's lack of social skills was so awful today that if it hadn't been my one day off in eons, I would have let this person ring up everything and walked out before paying. Apparently, it's this mere females' fault that he couldn't be bothered to look up and see the membership card sitting on the conveyor belt. This mere female then needed to be punished by having packaged snacks smacked onto the counter. The assistant who was there to box things up seemed uncomfortable. This is the Costco I go to for gas. Out of the 4 costcos I been to (Lynnwood, Seattle, Redmond), Kirkland is the winner to get gas the fastest. Lowkey lines on weekdays after 6pm, 5-10 mins wait with only two pumps per section!! Shoooot!!! Game changer. I was going to Redmond before since I'm on the east side and I like their green light indicator to notify you when the gas pump is ready but it's 10-15min wait. read more

TL,DR: The rest of the store is normal good Costco, food court is amazing. I never though I would write a review for a Costco location, but this place is great if you are here for the food court. Unlike most other Coscto locations, the Kirkland Costco has its food court in a separate area from the rest of the store (it looks like a repurposed automotive service bay, genius move). It has easily twice the number of tables than other Costco locations, and I haven't found it crowded even once. Verrry nice! read more

I just got a membership at Costco and I can't be more excited! They have great deals on tons of items! I got a half gallon of vodka for $23 AFTER TAX! Very cheap alcohol here. I've also purchased new tires at Costco and they were installed quickly and for a very cheap price. The staff was knowledgeable and recommended good tires for the type of ride I had at the time. They knew about my car and it's automatic closing lid when I told them to be careful with slamming it shut. Very experienced people! read more

I like Costco In general.. the Kirkland Costco warehouse has a lot more options as compared to other Costco stores in the Seattle area.. the produce and quality of products is unbeatable not to mention the price.. total value for money.. they do have some international products like roti, kulfi, lentils,etc.. we also love eating at their food court - the pizza, hot dogs, chicken bake..finding parking here can be a pain during peak hours.. hats off to costco to take great precautionary measures during covid times.. me and my family feel safe to shop at Costco due to the rules in place with respect to mask, etc. read more

This place is Costco - it's huge - it's busy pretty much all the time - the service is average and the prices are good. But most importantly, they offer free samples, and for that reason I'm always happy to go. When we arrived today the returns line was out of the door, but the returns lady was very happy helpful once we got to the front. As we were leaving with our cart loaded, we remembered some things in the trunk we forgot to return and thankfully there was no-one in line at that point so we breezed through! I'm not sure what possessed me to come to Costco on a Saturday.... But there I was. Not my finest moment. The parking lot was packed and customers weren't exactly being sensible in their driving. The pedestrian paths don't make a lot of sense so hold on tight to your kids, put your phone away and walk with caution. The food court was packed. No where to sit and people standing beside shopping carts spoonfeeding ice cream to babies. I can't make this stuff up. BUT they have self-serve kiosks so I ordered pizza and went shopping while I waited. As a grocery store, i do enjoy the produce (fresh but excessive packaging) and pantry items here. Good wine selection if you know what to look for; bonus points for local varieties. As a general rule, we buy meat directly from farmers so I don't buy it here. One terrible experience a few years ago when we bought fresh fish, got home and found a looonnnnggg white worm wiggling around inside the package. I returned it right away to be told "it happens all the time." bleh! The clothes are pretty great. The photo center is our go to place for prints. The best people work at this Costco. They worked crazy hard during all of Covid (post &pre) and dealt with some crazy stuff, keeping as much of a smile on their face as they could, even though it was trying times. First trip to Kirkland Mothership Cosco with my New Card! (Preface I have certainly visited Cosco with family and friends over the years just not until yesterday with my own new gold star card). I work a lot as an Uber Eats Driver and they offer various promotions and incentives for achieving various driver category ratings and being a team player type thing implying conceptual. Most of the time I have little to no use for many of the list of various percentage discounts and incentives this that and the other type things however a few days ago having just upgraded and gotten a new cellphone in the process of reinstalling the work/job app etc.... I was inspired to go through the various driver tabs and screens in the app user page xcetera and interesting learned that in my quote "Diamond Status" this month I guess I qualified for a free Costco Gold Star Membership Card I have been working a lot and not even noticed until just then LOL I've seen the promotion in various forms over the last months in emails excetera from Uber and had almost totally forgotten and lost track of it LOL having just moved into a new home I had even been looking at Costco memberships on YouTube videos of how Pros optimize all kinds of incentives excetera! First trip with my new card was quite awesome there were there were lots of things that to me are for the most part a no brainer obviously the warehouse is gigantic a huge as an understatement and it's easy to get lost in an ocean of waves and waves of awesome things of all kinds I took lots of pictures of things of interest that caught my eye best that I could take notes and show to friends and family for future planning tons and tons of awesome practical stuff from a lot of really great manufacturers lots of things that are versatile also as well. It being my first shopping trip and so caught up in the beginning with my app promotional codes and website membership sign ups taking pictures of course all that kind of stuff I totally forgot to get a shopping cart and was unsure if I needed one on a thorough intro tour of my own design thus in this context when I got to the self checkout at the end all of the employees were super nice helpful and understanding in letting me put all my collected items winnings off to the side to go grab the cold Frozen treat items and also customer service was excellent when is the first timer I didn't know the distinction that the self-checkout is only card not cash there was even a helpful guy at a kiosk that was super nice about it very organized and helped me to check out without a card with cash all the self check out customer service employees were friendly organized and helpful! When I looked at the receipt it was quite awesome and excided my expectations my jaw dropped and how much I saved on some really awesome stuff! Looking forward to next time -Richard P. A 1 star review wasn't in my mind about Costco, my family and I have been members for as long as I can remember, so we love going to Costco, I'm going to this store at least twice a month and never had a problem, until last night. When I was checking out I realized I bought a lot of small things ( fruits, veggies, bacon, etc ) so I needed a box, when I asked the cashier for a box please, he's response blow my mind, " it's past 8:30 so technically we are close, if you like you can ask for a box on your way out" I got really irritated and I told him " you work here, why can't you go and asked for a box ? " he didn't even respond, just give me a look. Part of job is customer service, if my boss ever finds out I'm talking to a customer that way, he would fired me in the spot. It's simple, if a person it's not customer service oriented, they should find a different area in the store where they can work. read more

I typically use discount tire to install my snow tires but I thought I would try Costco this year. I had to schedule three weeks out to get an appointment. The phone rang and rang and it took me about three calls to get someone to pick up. When I showed up they refused to service my car because I hadn't purchased tires from Costco. That was new information Finally they agreed. They told me the service would take between one and 1 1/2 hours. It ended up taking almost 3 hours. I love this Costco and go at least a few times a month. Those who only go every so often and end up with more than they need are just doing it wrong. Walk in and get what you need and get the heck out! I am a planner, I plan my meals and purchase appropriately and very little goes to waste. I eat a great deal of fresh fruit and vegetables and Costco, you got what I need! The fruit and vegetables are far superior to what you would get at the grocery store and at half the price for twice as much. If your fruit turns early, they will replace it too, try that at the local grocery! I used the optical department a few weeks ago to buy my contact lenses, for less than half what my optometrist was charging and half what i had been paying ordering them in the interwebs. My only regret was not getting an eye exam there too, much cheaper than the $250+ I paid at my personal optometrist. Having a wine and cheese party? Guess where you can get huge blocks of amazing cheese for less than you would pay for a few ounces at the local super market or Whole Foods? That's right Costco. The selection is pretty good too, the only issue I ever have is narrowing down my selection to less than ten types of cheese. You can also find a nice selection of deli meats and crackers to jazz it all up. The wine selection is not huge, but it works. I always save at least a few dollars on each bottle of wine that I buy at Costco. This location has a food court on the outside so the general public can come in and enjoy an all beef hot dog and soda for $1.50, $1.99 for a huge slice of pizza and around $10 for a huge whole pizza. There are some other things in the food court too, but I've never ordered them. They are probably awesome, I mean, it is Costco. The gas station just opened up and the prices look fabulous. It is difficult to not mistake the gas lines for a bunch of cars in a parking lot, it is pretty crazy. I do not drive my hybrid enough to justify waiting in line to save money on gas. Swiss Turkey Rollers for $8.99 a dozen or $29 for four dozen. A sheet cake for $17.99. High quality pork shoulder for $1.91 a pound, sure it comes in 16 pound packages, that is what freezers were invented for. Costco has all that. And more. Much more. And to the guy with the hat made out of tin foil, Costco was founded in the US of A. Google, it is your friend..unless you are a conspiracy nut. Carry on. read more

First off I would love to shout out David in the food court, I go to this Costco on a regular basis as it's right in the middle of my commute to and from work, so from a nice family meal to an employee meeting pizza party I have great food I can bring nice and hot for an amazing price. Since I've seen this nice man David working I've noticed my product has improved, I don't receive burnt or over held sandwiches anymore as well as topping on pizzas being way more consistent. I'm not sure if he's the manager but I'm so happy to order when I see him working. He communicates well on times and follows up with wait times without me asking. 5 stars mostly for him and the entire staff inside is very polite, you don't get the "oops I didn't see you" looks like at most grocery stores even when they're completely slammed. My only complaint is with payment, my husband forgot his wallet and just grabbed our Costco card. We have an executive card and the checker declined our transaction because the card was in his name and I was paying. I just handed my husband my wallet and he just paid in cash. I don't care about it but I'm sure the people waiting behind us were frustrated by waiting for this power trip to end. That was super annoying, and checkers might be a little more quiet when they talk about policies. We respect the policies, but the entire store doesn't need to know. read more

Writing a review of a Costco, is akin with reviewing Starbucks. You know exactly what you are going to get, you know what is there, and you know they have good stuff, and a generous return policy to back it up. With that said, this location is good, it's hidden next to the highway, and if you are coming northbound of 405, you will have to do some driving around to get around the "no turn lane for you" issue. Also, when you get there, there is an additional lot across the street. There is gas here also, and lots of lanes, and at 5pm, on a weekday, there is plenty of pumps, and little to no wait. The Costco inside is pretty typical, with the large refrigerated section of the store, the usual assortment of frozen goods, and a few little surprises, including Chinese Lap Cheong sausages... Hot foods are outside, and they are cash only, but we all know that. :-) read more

I have been going to this Costco store for as long as I can remember. And it's the best location in my opinion! They call it Kirkland Signature for a reason. This is Walmart without all the evil associated with it. Come here to buy goods in bulk and at low prices. We all have to eat and live somewhere, so it makes sense to buy your favorite stuff in huge quantities at a time. Membership is definitely worth it. I think my parents took me here to buy the second or third Harry Potter book when it was still new, so I see no reason I'd stop coming here after all this time. Probably the most obvious thing about this place as you look around is that it's essentially a giant warehouse with enough food in it to probably feed the entire city of Kirkland for a month. There is so much food in here that I can't help but think how shameful it is for any of it to go to waste. To compound all the food on display, they have dozens of tables here featuring free samples of different kinds of food and drink. When I was a kid, I always thought of Costco as the place to get free ice cream. Aside from the food, Costco is a good place to get large HDTVs (75'' or more) at relatively reasonable prices. I would go elsewhere to buy computers, though. And their jewelry section is absolutely ridiculous. They have rings in the neighborhood of $50,000, which I don't see how anybody could justify. Luckily, I'm here to buy food most of the time, so that doesn't really concern me. Basically, Costco is the reason that--ahem--inferior competitors are virtually nonexistent in this area. I'm very grateful for that. I'm also grateful for the other random things that they have. An optical section for glasses, two coffee grinders, and most recently a gas station. I don't foresee it happening, but I can't complain much if Costco takes over the world. My life might be easier as a result. read more

What's not to love???????? These selection of everything is humongous, people are super nice, there are free samples to nibble on (my kids' favorite aspect of the store!), super-great prices and the best customer service and return policy of any store, hands down. Whenever we have a party (at least once a year), I always get the appetizers here. They have wonderful cheeses and meats and hors d'oeuvres. The wine selection is pretty wonderful. You MUST get bananas here; a huge bunch sells for cheaper than anywhere in town. The roasted chicken is less expensive yet plumper and moister than those sold in any grocery store. The take-and-bake pizzas and the pre-made dinner meals are amazing. I always get a few, as my family loves Mr.Costxco's cooking way better than mine (which is A-ok with me!). They will accept returns on items without the packaging or receipts, and long after e time of purchase. I brought back an electric blanket that wasn't working well approximately 16 months after I bought it. I no longer had the box it cam in, receipt or instruction guides. They took it back it hour question. I was amazed. They have a really good cosmetic/beauty aisle, too. The prices of brand name make-ups are a fraction of what you'd spend in the department store. They're holiday selection is the best in town. I always get my Xmas wrappings and gorgeous gift tags here. Oh, and if you're in the market to get food gifts or gift baskets, this is definitely the place. I usually pick up restaurant gift cards too (you spend $80 and get restaurant cards worth $1000). The only drawbacks here are, as mentioned in other reviews, the parking situation which can be pretty dicey. I also wish there were some way one could try on the clothes here before purchasing. But other than that, you really can't beat this store. I know a lot of people who also swear by their photo services, their optometry services, and their car shop/tire shop here. read more

Alright, i do feel a little pimped out that i shop at the first Costco. It is nice, though not especially unique, as far as costco's go. Yes parking's rough on weekends, but whats new right? It's nice to go shopping and get lunch first (i.e. a ginormous hot dog and a soda) for $1.50. Not everything is a deal, good to check grocery store prices to see whether its a bargain. But especially for people who don't have the time or interest to do couponing, its an easy way to get all your non-perishables quick and cheap. Since 1983, Costco's best selling product has been Kirkland toilet paper. And I agree with the public sentiment that they used to have really good toilet paper but not anymore. I'm sure it's standard two ply toilet paper but it's not as thick and durable as it used to be. I think they've cut cost and increase the price which is unfortunate for Costco shoppers. read more
