Unless you like chaos and crowds like it's the last day before Christmas, I'd suggest visiting when it first opens in the morning. Don't bother any other time. Nothing is that urgent unless it's for the pharmacy. Another Yelper called it a madhouse, and I'd agree. Also, there are so many folks ordering food that if you're Deaf, you'd better tell them your number or you're screwed. Of course, I'm from the mainland, so my take is specific to me. However, regardless of the crowds and chaos, for the majority Puerto Ricans still manage to be polite and friendly, and maybe it's merely an island attitude, one of which i encountered living in Hawaii and the Philippines too. Also, back home, we'd have a maximum of ten customers waiting on food Monday through Friday. It's just not as busy as it is here, and i don't think any of those i have visited can compare to this location- not Lexington, Florence, Toledo, Indianapolis, not even Los Angeles. I got petrol at this Costco when it first opened without any issues. Pretty quick process, and these folks don't mind pumping on the other side of the station, and back home, people refuse to pump on the opposite side. Yet the hoses can extend to the opposite side, making the process quicker; so, at least here in PR, they understand it. This location was a madhouse!! The first crazy thing is the parking. Once you manage to park and walk in the store is incredibly full of people. It was hard to get around some aisles. It was pretty well stocked except for liquor which is small and inside the store. The lines were ridiculously long at checkout. In spite of this it's worth stopping there when you are a large group vacationing at a house. read more

Unfortunately one of the worst Costco I have been too. I had to use the restroom and it smelled like it has never been cleaned since opening. Urine, urine, urine. Woah. I'd strongly recommend leadership team to visit this location as I'd never use the restroom at this location again. I'd stop at a gas station or restaurant before I visit this unsanitary area. Second the parking lot is a zoo to say the least. Watch out as others honk, weave, and pass regardless of pedestrian right of way. As for prices...look around, shop around. Food court is beyond long. Wait time is not even appropriate. Don't consider getting anything with in reason. 45min for an entire pizza. I'll go elsewhere. Entirely, if you understand what you're going for. Do it, but don't expect service. There is none from parking to checkout. Best of luck. read more

I can't miss check out the local costco if I'm in San Juan. Fortunately i have my phone with my costco app logged in, so I'm able to check into the store. The merchandise are pretty similar to mainland US, and I'm surprisingly find out that some of the item are more expensive than my home store. I found one chocolate oatmeal i don't remember seeing in my home store, so i got that for my travel snack. It's a good visit except it took us more than one hour to drive back to our hotel at 4:30pm for only 13 miles.. read more

This place was bananas! It was pack and so full and hard to park in the parking lot and maneuver through the store. We got there about hustbover an hour before closing it. It's a different lay out then the normal Costco layout, so it was harder to locate things like i usually do. It's stop and go all over the Costco. They dont have boxes at the check stands you gotta go grab one near the exit, so you can pack your stuff. You're better off going closer to opening time. This have to be the worst Costco warehouse I have been in my life. The store is so disorganized. It was stuff everywhere and the space between some racks (pallets) was not enough for two shopping carts to go around. The lines for checkout were ridiculous. It was more than 20 people waiting in each of the open checkout lines. And not all of the checkout lines were open. Why? I dont understand! I heard an employee complaining to another employee about a female customer who disorganized the clothes and she would have to organize it again. This person should not work in a store like Costco if he does not like his job, which is organizing things. Unbelievable! Also, I have a business membership and this store don't let me divide my transactions in two, one for the business and one for home. I have to do the line twice if I want to do both shopping the same day. It is ridiculous! I don't have this problem in others Costco, only in Puerto Rico they have their own rules. This place will stress you out if you're not mentally prepared for extreme line waiting, tight parking, clustered with other people and/or food waiting section. It's a Costco! The worst service and the person in the door was the worst giving the information he was rude and not courteous. Maybe he had to say the same information during his hole shift but if you're not cut for it then you maybe have to resign. You are re-presenting the company and all I can think is if this is at the door I can't imagine the rest Including the managers. Costco partially has everything you need and don't need, but they lack customer service. You see these outrageous lines that could be avoided by having one or two lanes dedicated to ten items or less. During peak hours and peak season you see 3 to 4 lanes closed. I rate SAM'S a 10 at this, I have never experienced closed lanes especially during peak season Mothers Day, Christmas etc. at SAMS. read more

Yay! I love Costco! I think I base my vacation decisions around where Costcos can be found near the airport. This was our first stop to load up on drinks and other sundries for a vacation. But really nothing truly special about this particular Costco that you won't find anywhere else. I found that they didn't seem to have very many local products which is too bad. I always hope to find something new like the ones in Hawaii. One good thing about this place is that the price is no different than on the mainland. We love Costco so when we planned our 2nd trip to PR we stopped by as soon as we got off the plane. I wasn't sure what to expect as far as $$ & inventory bc Costco changes all the time. But we have many food allergies in my family & had 6 checked bags of nothing but food this trip & only 2 bags of clothes. We were so pleased with our experience & all the $$ were the same. They had our gluten free bread, grass fed kerrigold butter & cheese, $5 rotisserie chicken, some organic produce (fresh & frozen), organic chips, pesto and alcohol (which we don't have at ours back in MD). Great looking fruit & veggies (bananas are super green & 1.5 weeks into our trip they r still green!) they also had frozen fruit for smoothies. I didn't know what to expect but am very happy to come back next year with a lot less baggage! read more

Costco is nothing but amazing. Each store has 95% of the same inventory, whether you are in PR or US---you know what you will find at Costco. I am a compulsive costco shopper, so I know that the prices in PR are fairly similar to the prices in the US. There are a few items that seem adjusted because of shipping or tariffs such as Grey Goose alcohol! However, other than that, I was pleased that I found exactly what I was looking for. read more

I just enter this page and the hours are not the correct ones, they change. Last time I went at 9:00 am and they open at 10:00 am. Also on Saturdays and Sundays they close at 7:00 pm. I wish they have more gluten free stuff as I have seen in Houston, but, we are a small island and just had a mayor hurricane.... speaking of that, I tried to go there after the hurricane and it was insane how many cars and people were going there. Then I found out that it was because they let everybody in, people who didn't pay for membership. Being a senior citizen and with my husband having heart surgery recently, I had no chance of getting there. Sam's gave us that chance and we were able to get his medication. read more
