I don't know how I haven't reviewed Costco before, this is the location closest to my home, so it is my go to for gas, groceries, and plenty of other items. By now most people know about Costco and other warehouse clubs; I have tried the competition, Sam's Club and BJs, but I much prefer Costco as the clubs are cleaner, the employees are great and overall the products are higher quality. To shop at Costco you do have to pay an annual fee, but it is easy to earn at least that amount in the year end cash back. Lets start with my most go to item, filling up the car with gas; the Costco gas stations are pretty simple, all cars come from the same direction and if the pumps are filled you have to wait in line. The gas prices are usually significantly lower then surrounding gas stations so they really draw a crowd. The gas itself has 10% ethanol, but is Top Tier certified, which is a quality rating. A couple of hints for the gas stations are that they are open earlier and later then the main Costco are so if you can get there at these times the waits are much shorter. Also the pumps have long hoses so if the line is shorter for the pumps that are not on the same side as your gas cap it is easy enough to still fill your car. Of course the gas stations require that you scan your membership card. The main Costco is loaded with deals, food, groceries, produce, baked goods, clothes, appliances, home goods, electronics, personal care and almost anything else you could want. Most items, especially food is sold in large quantities, but that is part of what helps keep prices low. As you shop around notice that most prices end in $.99 these are the regular prices; every month there is a sale book which has discounted items. Any price that ends in another figure is some sort of closeout or steeper discount so it is well worth looking out for these. One of the most fun parts of a Costco visit is that they often have people out giving samples of food items to let you get a preview of something new and delicious. The samples can be located around the store and will be everything from candy, prepared food, sauces and more. A couple of great places to visit at Costco are the pharmacy and the tire center. The pharmacy usually has some of the lowest prices you can find; before I got free refills by mail I used the Costco pharmacy on a regular basis and was very pleased with the prices and service. The Tire Center has a similar approach, although the tire selection is a bit limited there are enough choices of manufacturers and tires to fill almost every need. You do need to schedule an appointment for installation, but the prices include installation, balance, hazard coverage, tire rotation and the tires are great quality. Finally the true highpoint of Costco is the food court, a bit barebones but the food is incredible, the prices a true bargain and this is the place to get a snack or light meal. The go to item for most people is the $1.50 hot dog and drink combo, but for me grabbing a huge slice of cheese pizza for $2 is the way to go. Even better if the food court has the chopped onions for the hot dogs, just grab a cup and use it to top the slice. Costco can be an overwhelming experience for some, there is always a lot going on. The checkout lines can be long at certain times, but the employees do a great job of keeping the checkouts moving. I actually enjoy the treasure hunt element of Costco, they often move items around and while certain items always seem to be there, other items come and go, so you need to grab an item that interests you or it might be gone the next time you look for it. Costco has an exceptional return policy, they will take almost anything back, so long as you bought it at Costco, hopefully you won't need it very often, but the few times I have returned an item it was handled quickly without any issues. I especially have to shout out the tire department, after a day of hiking and then shopping I had just completed a Costco run when my car alerted me that 1 tire had only 2 lbs of pressure. I turned around to try to fill it, but it was so low that the pump would not do it. Since these were the original tires and had about 33,000 miles I figured I would just buy new tires. Unfortunately, Boston Heights did not have my size and would have to order them, they checked and found that Mayfield Costco did. Boston Heights was great and fitted me in to changed the flat tire for the spare. I called the Mayfield Costco and they confirmed that they had the tires I needed and they managed to get me an appointment in about an hour. Once the car was ready I drove to Mayfield and they did a great job of getting me set up with a complete set of new tires. read more

It is pleasurable to shop before the crowds descend. I'm not an employee of Costco and will receive no monies for this endorsement, but if you don't have an executive membership it's well worth the extra fee to shop the store early when it's not crowded - especially if you are a "senior" like me! read more

This is the Costco nearest my home. I try not to visit it often. Produce selection usually sucks. Usually not as many deals as the other Cleveland Costco's as well. It's always busy during every open hour. Employees are always friendly. Only thing is one employee likes to ask me if I'm over 18 and where is my parent when getting a sample. I look young but not that young, it's just rude. Especially since I shop during school hours. Even then wouldn't I have had to come in with a Costco member? I'm baffled to the point of not even taking samples at this location anymore. read more

I don't know why this has anything below 5 stars. This is the best store in all 50 states for every aspect of your life. If you want tech, come here for actually good prices. If you want food, they have EVERYTHING you could EVER WANT. They even have bird food. It puts the super in supermarket. You can get rotisserie chicken fresh, and when you leave try their restaurant. I won't travel without a strawberry banana smoothie, and neither should you. Even on busy days I see the staff putting in effort at the restaurant so kudos to them. The employees at checkout are polite and efficient. I see NO REASON WHATSOEVER for people being dissatisfied. Even their return policy is insanely good. Everybody I know goes to Costco, and if that's not the case for you get a better social circle or introduce them ASAP. This is a very good, but typical Costco. Everything is clean and fully stocked and the staff is always on top of it. Sometimes, the produce does have mold and/or is wilted which is sad to see. The food court is a bit of mess as they never seem to be adequately staffed for the amount of people who crave that $1.50 hot dog combo, which is turn, creates a mob of people always swarming around the dining tables. I usually stop by this location right off the highway during trips home to NY, to get gas. During my most recent trip there was a horrible severe thunderstorm taking place and so to pass the time I went inside! It was very busy at the time but the staff was really efficient. I found some great things I had never seen in my local hometown Costco, and bought some goodies to take home to my parents who don't have a warehouse in their area. It has the lay out of some of the newer locations, so I assume it is indeed newer. Everything was clean and well organized. Every single person was masked properly. If you havent been to a Costco, you really need to check it out! They have everything from electronics, to home linens, to clothing, office supplies, pet supplies, food, deli, frozen, pharmaceutical, and all kinds of great rare finds. If you find an item here, such as tide detergent, it is cheaper than any other store, such as target. The oz will be more, or more sheets on the roll, or usually appliances come with added features made just for Costco. It is worth the cost of membership for the top tier gas alone. read more

Service here has fluctuated like most businesses during Covid. Its really improved and nearly back to normal. People seem to following the mask mandate here. Its a little sad not being able to enjoy their pizza, hot dogs etc. But it is what it is nowadays. One new thing that I wasn't aware was an option. You can get Nitrogen in your tires. I could've sworn it was only offered if you bought their tires. It helps with fluctuation in outside temps that doesn't affect your tire pressure. Outside of this what is there to not love about Costco. They backup their warranties. Offer max pack buys. Gas is the other deal. They normally have the mid level 89 grade gas often cheaper than most gas stations 87 grade gas. Plus if you have Costco credit card. More rewards and savings. If you've never been. This is the original Costco in Cleveland's East side, and it has remained the grand dame of warehouse shopping in the area. With ample parking and a helpful and friendly staff, you will be able to flash your membership card and be trolling the aisles for deals in a flash. I am a Costco fan, but this isn't a review about Costco in general- just this location. The cafe usually has a substantial line but don't let that put you off- it always moves very quickly. The cafe staff is always accommodating. It can get pretty busy on weekends and holiday seasons, but it's busy because it's popular. It's popular because it has quality items at great prices. There is no place else I would want to go for a box of 500 or oranges it a pack of 90 paper towel rolls. In these tough economic times, it can be an event to go to Costco and play with the games on display and full up on all the free samples. read more

Last visit, I utilized the self checkout but Costco seriously failed this day between the employee and the supposed supervisory staff. Employee decided to swear at me because he was too busy on his phone and supervisor/manager acted like I was making it up even though your cameras likely caught the whole interaction. Solution: fire gm because they fostered a dysfunctional work environment, fire employee because swearing at a customer is completely unacceptable and fire supervisor for failing to address the problem & instead blame the customer. I love this costco! I've only been to two other locations, and this one by far has been the least busy and I've had such great interactions with the people who work here. They're always professional and helpful, without making me feel like they're trying to upsell me on everything. The lines can get a little on the long side, especially the food line. If it's busy then they will usually tell you there's a long wait on the pizza. I recommend still ordering the pizza, even if they tell you that there's a wait, because they often inflate the wait time to discourage more people from ordering pizza. I typically only go to Costco for a few things I love. Coffee~Kirtland k cups, the seasonal pumpkin pie, cheesecake, Pho, roasted chicken, turkey pot pie. Today the cheesecake looked odd. Like it wasn't finished. Also almost everyone had an earth quake crack on top. Please don't ruin this beautiful, tasty bargain. It's one reason I got a membership. It has always been a crowd pleaser. Also the burgers in meat department no longer taste as good. I don't buy them anymore for that reason. Giving up letting us use Discover after mid November 2023 is also a big disappointment. The meat is spectacular. The prime beef, when they have it, is amazing, Mary's boneless little leg of lamb is fab as well. Seafood - they have some pretty darn good salmon, halibut, scallops, and lobster tail. Their prices are on par, or much less than supermarkets with equal or superior quality. They sell the salmon with out the skin and brown flesh, that is the part which smells like a boat of cod on a warm day. Lets just say you are broke and have only 5 dollars to spend on protein for the week. What is one to do? The rotisserie chicken, the cornerstone of the Costconians diet. For all you non Cosctonians, you get a 3+ pound behemoth cock sans the head and feet, ready cooked,hot, and seasoned for 4.99. The possibilities are endless. chicken tacos,sandwiches, pasta, pet food etc..... Deserts- Amazing deserts and bakery items. If you want to throw a going away party, get a caked and invite 100 of your closest friends! Now lets talk muffins, muffins half the size of your head. I will never be able to look at muffin the same way. Drugs and Vitamins -You can by enough cough syrup to keep you old college roommate robo-tripping for weeks, and pay 1/10th the cost as your local CVS. What ever ails you or article you read that says supplement X will extend your life by a decade, Costco has it, and the smallest bottle will probably last a decade. The only negatives I can really think of-, that 5$ chicken turns into 100$ of stockpiled toilet paper, strip steaks and dryer sheets. We went to this Costco in Cleveland in a decent area and it is pretty much hidden in the back side. Lots of construction going on to here. This one you can tell is the older one as it is smaller. It also gets crowded and surprised as it was on a weekday mid day. It was a good experience there and lots of toilet paper and essential. You have to really pay attention to the prices to know what are good values. I find that the produce can be priced better at other stores. Many household products are priced well. Very clean store with a friendly staff. They carry quality products and our family loves the Kirkland brand! For parents - I have to tell you that Kirkland brand diapers are hands down our favorite. Great price, and the quality will give popular brands like pampers a run for their money. We have never had an issue with these diapers leaking either. I love the variety of organic options that they offer as well and the meat is always fresh. I will say that it's disappointing that they only offer farm raised fish for 95% of the fresh fish. As far as memberships go, we had the executive membership to start and this year chose the standard membership because we didn't spend enough for it to be worth our while. If you plan to purchase some big ticket items like a TV, patio furniture, etc, then the executive membership would most likely pay for itself and I would recommend. read more

I love this Costco! Everything is organized and you just really can't beat wholesale deals in general. They have quality items. Their produce is fresh. Their meats and seafood are so much better than my local grocery store. My favorite thing to get front their prepared food are the ribs. Their cakes are gorgeous and delicious. Their clothes are cute and at great prices. I usually buy my fall outfits from Costco. And I've bought my electronics from Costco too. It sells quality items all around. And now here is why I can't give the fifth star. I'm not a fan on how their weekend hours are shorter than their week day hours. They close at 6 on a Saturday. I would imagine most people do their errands on the weekends. Because of this, it's always crowded and the lines are just really long. I wish they would open up more lanes but I understand if they are understaffed. These are just a few minor issues. Other than that I recommend shopping here. read more

Trash, if I could give this store zero stars I would. I absolutely hate Kirkland brand and they have no variety amongst their products. Most of the ingredients in Kirkland brand products are toxic very toxic more toxic than other leading brands and even generic brands not only are they toxic but they are expensive for no reason. You can't even shop here for free you have to pay for a membership on top of their over priced products that are low quality. The only upsides are the food court and the rotisserie chicken. The food court is pretty nice. Also the parents that shop here are out of order, they love those stupid ass Kirkland brand baby wipes. And last time I was here I was quite fried and this one couple had this child that kept annoying me. I was sitting down on the couch and they kept letting their child come up and scream at me and annoy me. You guys never really have coupons or good deals. If you are always cooking like I am, Costco is the placed you need to belong. I love going here to buy every singe thing I need for my culinary delights. Giant jars of artichoke hearts, nuts by the pounds, rice in 20-pound bag, cinnamon in containers bigger than my head...I am in. Sure, it gets crazy busy with everyone shopping with their giant purchases and equally giant carts, but it is so worth it to buy my water in 50 bottle packs so I do not have to go to the grocery store each week. The best part of coming here is the samples of food. You can easily graze your way through Costco and call it lunch. And if that is not enough, be sure to grab some pizza at the counter and eat that--oh so good. Some people are really against big box shopping and I am not sure why.
