I HATE this COSTCO! It is unfortunate but one bad apple CAN destroy the whole bag. Most of the people are very nice but do not show a lot of common sense or initiative. However, if that was the only problem I could deal. My complaints are for 2 employees (did not get their names); the first incident occurred during my first visit - I am disabled and must use an electric cart. It stalled shortly after beginning my shopping so I was near the front of the store. I have severely limited mobility and at the time I also had a broken ankle. I got the attention of a CSR who came over - turned it off/on and it started again - then he yelled at me about not leaving it on while I was looking. I asked what I was suppose to do if it stalled again in the back of the store and he just walked away - after several starts/stops it finally did stall for good. Another customer went to retrieve a different cart. People with disabilities do not use electric carts for a good time...and store employees need to not make a shopping experience even more difficult for them by making them use defective equipment. Even with the cost of gas I prefer to drive to Turlock. read more

I love everything about Costco! However, this Costco does not have very good customer service. I've had bad experiences with the photo counter associates, none of the associates on the floor are very helpful (even to a pregnant woman trying to get help lifting something), and, even though the food court is as tasty as anywhere, there are some women behind the counter who are extremely rude and very inefficient. I would say this Costco, perhaps because it's on the small side, is probably better than most. When I go to the Turlock Costco, if I just step near the jewelry or computer counters I am swarmed by employees. One time an employee actually followed me from display to display, and although I am rarely rude to service workers, I got so irritated I yelled at her to get off my a**. But that's Turlock, so I digress... Typical Costco - stay the hell out of there on a Saturday or Sunday unless you are insane. Store is clean, organized, employees are okay, and snack bar is cheap and pretty fast. My biggest complain about all Costcos is that they DON'T have banana nut muffins in their bakery. Who sells muffins but doesn't sell banana nut? What do you have against banana nut muffins, Kirkland? I've only had to do a couple of returns, and from what I remember, they were all easy and fast, including one time when I had to return a car battery. As with pretty much all Costcos, the only "problems" you'll have will be with the other customers, most of whom are usually in their "Costco Coma" and oblivious to others in the store. read more

Most employees are very nice and work very hard. That being said, a few of the cashiers think they're conversations are very important. Among themselves but today in particular with their friends that come through. A cashier named victor decided to talk to a customer for about 6 minutes before finishing up. Great place for quality products and the food court has always been a winner with our kids( and still is) as well as the grandkids.

The Costco staff at this bakery are amazing! Talk about great customer service. I went to get a cake for one of our employees who had recently graduated from college to surprise him but I forgot to pre-order with his name. They had the perfect chocolate cake in the case for a guy. I told the gentleman at the bakery about my dilemma and he went ahead and had his name added to the cake. Thank you!!! read more

Worst optical dept. anywhere. Bad selection, bad service, bad attitudes, and a 12 year old mngr. My new glasses don't fit, bifocal line is too high, even when I had to make them lower it , they still got it wrong. Save your money and frustration and go anywhere else. read more

This Costco is alright. It only gets really packed and lines get pretty long on certain days.... But if you go earlier in the morning it's alot slower. I try to avoid going there during the weekends.... The cashiers are for the most part pretty friendly and helpful. I enjoy thier hot dog and drinks. read more

Costco lately has been letting me down. They now seem to never know what they're doing. I've called twice and went in twice to try to place a large order of pizza and all 4 times they never seem to know what to do, on when to pay, how to order, etc. when it finally seemed as if it was figured out and I placed the order for a later date and wrote all of it down for them. They still failed and messed up when it was time for pick up. Totally unprofessional and need better training in the food court. Now my event is postponed for pizza which was suppose to be raising money for a cause. read more

As with most every Costco, the quality and customer service is impeccable. Ample parking. Cheapest gas in town. I love that this location has far less traffic than other more urban locations that can be nightmarish at times. Least favorite thing is that they literally only get Kirkland dress shirt shipments twice per year. That's tough for a guy who is used to buying about one new shirt per month. read more

I literally was just going to pick up my pizza that I had pre-ordered on the phone and I usually take my pup with me everywhere and no store ever has a problem with it but this lady with black hair and bangs tells me in the rudest tone of voice "there's no animals allowed" and I asked is it okay if I just pick her up I'm just here for my pizza and she says no so I go back to leave my dog in the car and I go back and she asks do you have your card in a rude tone of voice and I said no I'm sorry I'm just here for my pizza I'm not going to buy anything and she just starts going off saying I can't go inside the building without my card but she was not asking for anyone's card she let everyone pass through she just decided to ask me because she already had an issue. So I told her I'm sorry I don't and she's says well they should've told you that on the phone when you called and I proceeded to tell her that they did not tell me that at all. She had the worst attitude and was super rude about everything. Costco definitely shouldn't have people like that greeting their customers. In the end I didn't get my pizza. read more

As you know Costco seems to have everything and lots of good deals... unfortunately never seem to open enough registers around the first of the month since they have started accepting EBT so as long as you plan your trip correctly it can be a good experience or the complete opposite... some of the staff are amazing helpful and always courteous some of the other staff are obviously tired of the public!!! The Costco food court has HORRIBLE customer service! I've had two incidents where I called in my orders and they said it would take thirty minutes but I get there, go shopping, and it's still not ready. It takes thirty minutes longer than they say it's going to take. We get fed up and go home and come back and they give us the run around and say it's not ready. They say they will call your name but never do. So you have to go up there to find out your pizza has been sitting there the whole time. That has happened both times I ordered there! And the second time they screwed up my order! The employees at the food court are incompetent! Ridiculous! read more

On today's visit was disappointed in here today a lot of the produce looked overripe. The lines at checkout were long as always. The real bummer was went to go buy some fresh cookies and the gentleman at the counter wouldn't give us any saying that they were for a special order but I think he just wanted to sell the ones on the table first by as a customer I think we should have been able to get a fresh one. I went to the tire center yesterday and decided to setup an appointment for the very next day. I went back today at my appointment time and spoke to the same guy (Jersen) and found out that the tires I've requested to be installed was not even available. The guy that helped me today was the same guy that helped me yesterday. He attempted to persuade me to order the tires and reschedule. I called to place an order for a pizza. One single pepperoni pizza. I called THREE TIMES. First time I called I went through the automated options press five for other departments press two for food/pizza.. whatever. The phone rang and rang and rang then then and automated voice said goodbye and promptly hung up. So i called back. This time when I went through the list I made sure it was correct and it rang twice and hung up. So I call back a third time and finally get an answer the man take my order I specifically ask if I give mine or my husbands name and he says it doesn't matter. Then says twenty mins my husband goes to Costco shops around for a second and then goes to collect the pizza. They act like an order was never placed and i could possibly have called the wrong Costco. How many Costco's are in the Merced area????? Anyways this was complete crap and now he's having to wait another half hour to get some pizza. read more

Who doesn't like Costco? It's got lots of enormous shelves with super-sized items for you to purchase. Need eight thousand bottles of ketchup? You got it! Want a thirty four pound wheel of cheddar? Score! My biggest gripe about Costco is just when you learn what they have and what you like, they change up the items so you have to adapt. Other than that, this place is amazing. I love Costco, and this one in Merced was not an exception. As usual, lots and lots of variety in the store. I could pretty much find whatever I wanted if I took the time to walk around the entire place, which would take forever. Customer service wasn't bad; they helped me find the food (snacks, meat, vegetables) I wanted for my stay in Merced. One thing that bothers me is the long waiting times to be checked-out. Took about 5 minutes of waiting at the one of the rightmost lanes to even get close enough to put my stuff down on the conveyor belt. read more
