Wow! The price of can milk :(

I decided to join Costco because I've heard a few positive things about them. A couple being, they support Diversity, Equity & Inclusion where all people are valued and have equal opportunities. Also they pay their employees a living wage. I feel this is important in the climate we live in. I've been a Sam's Club girl for years (and still am) but my husband said he would pay for the membership. The membership is $65 for Goldstar, $130 for Executive....2% back on purchases. Check the website for details. This Costco is located at 740 Upper State Road in North Wales, Pa. We went on a Saturday afternoon it was sooooo busy. A line coming in the store and a line going out. I was comparing them to Sam's to see if it was better or worse. Unfortunately, it's a wash for me. They both have their strong points. Costco has a great meat selection, things I haven't seen at Sam's. Their bakery has lots of thing l would like to try. The prices are are about the same. But Costco is a little bigger, a little more to choose from. Only thing I didn't like was the crowd, just too many people. I felt rushed the whole time I was there. I even asked the cashier is it busy because it's Saturday and she said "No! It's busy everyday". I must say, the lines moved pretty fast. Because of the crowd I didn't look around as much as I would have liked too, but i did like the store. I'll definitely go back when I'm rested and have my sneakers on! We stopped to get a snack at the food court. You can go up and pay at the counter or use the kiosk which is faster to get your food. We just got a hot dog and soda for $1.50 (great buy). I'll take more pictures next time I go. Costco is open: Mon - Thurs 10-8:30pm Sat - 9:30 - 6pm Sun - 10 - 6 pm

10-6-23 Review of the new roast beef sandwich: very tasty Dijon mustard, skimpy on the roasted red peppers, super fresh ciabatta roll and mid dry roast beef... I wanted to love it , I didn't hate it but in the end I won't order it again. Fortunately there are a few solid local places where I can get fresh , store made or Boars head roast beef so the Costco beef was simply mid. The $10 price was just ok and not a normal Costco value. A $7.99 or $6.99 would be where it should be , 30-40% below market like the pizza and hot dogs would make it more attractive and it really wasn't as loaded with meat as I expected. If your considering trying this do it quickly, I don't think it's going to be on the menu very long.

I have been shopping at different Costco, which they are all pretty similar. However, some Costco do stock up on different items and maybe at different time too. This location may not be the closest distance for me, but sometimes they carry some items that I don't see at the other Costco that I normally shop for. Throughout the month, they have different sales for different items. I feel like I always ends up coming to Costco twice a month due to the different sales. I enjoyed my time here. Right now they have alot of asian items, maybe because of the upcoming Chinese New Year.

As Costcos go, this is the best of the three I routinely visit in terms of cleanliness, crowdedness and overall quality of merchandise. Lawrenceville, NJ and Warrington, PA, have their attractions, but both of those operations are more like playing bumper cars with those oversized shopping carts in the aisles and in the parking lots. It is surprising that these warehouses in relatively close proximity to each other often have very different inventory. While Warrington was short on muffins beyond corn and chocolate, North Wales had lemon ice topped and coffee cake alternatives. Where Lawrenceville had only Kirkland frozen peas, here there were greenies from Denmark. Couldn't find the healthy butter substitute, nor my favorite cookies anywhere this week. I don't love these post steroidal airplane hangers, but they do serve a purpose. Some things it pays to buy in bulk, or take advantage of special deals and pick up their roast chicken; but the "eyes bigger than the stomach" phenomenon often takes over and too often it is impossible to consume the quantity obtained while it is fresh or still desired. It goes without saying to never enter on an empty stomach. However, with practiced self control, this amusement park of a supermarket is entertaining and worth the price of admission.

It's a big box shopping experience, so I'll stick to the basics: The store is typically very clean and well stocked. Prices, obviously, are good. I get all my paper products here and have, on occasion, gotten remarkable deals on beautiful mirrors, reliable electronics, and mountains of athletic socks. The parking lot is always a train wreck. Overcrowded, badly laid out and flooded with pedestrians. Drive through it at your peril. I've never engaged with employees outside of the checkout line, so I can't speak to how they handle questions or if they can be helpful in finding things. The checkout lines, often long, seem to move quickly. I wish the store itself was bigger or the isles were less crowded. Most often, the place seems packed and can quickly begin to feel claustrophobic. I like the deals; hate the crowds.

Fuck Costco. Multiple memberships, but Business not allowed until 10:00. Store is so overrated anyway, unless you buy bulk and gas.

Their return policy is really great and if something doesn't work, I'm not at all worried about them not giving me my money back.

It's important to understand that Bulk Vintage and Briar Vintage are in the same building. Bulk…read moreVintage is on the 2nd floor, Briar is on the 3rd. Are they the same? They are not. Bulk Vintage is exactly what they say they are - they buy and sell bundles of used clothing primarily wholesale. Once a month they open up their floor to the public, typically this is a Saturday. Sometimes they have a Friday night limited admission shopping time too, for $10. If you don't/can't shop at their 'open' time, you can reserve 2 hours of floor time with a $100 non refundable deposit that is credited towards your total purchase. The building is an old factory structure tucked in a quiet industrial area. The street out front is where I parked. It was well lit, no problems getting a spot up front. Inside, they are on the 2nd floor, there are rows and rows of large cardboard boxes with their tops cut off. Each has markings on it of generally what is in there and either a set price or a range. So you'll see "vests - men" or "boho skirts". There are also items hanging up on racks in the back. If you're interested in one of those you ask for a price. When you come in they're very pleasant and efficient. They show you where baskets are for carrying items (NO outside bags or boxes allowed). They also show you where bedsheets are at the end of each isle. This is kind of clever. When you want to dig into one of the bins, they tell you to put the sheet down on the ground in front of the bin and put items you're pulling out on it to keep it cleaner and keep from pushing items to boxes on either side. I paid the $10 to shop in more quiet at night, there were maybe 10 people. This is most definitely a DIG, so if you're not into sorting a bunch of stuff in an industrial warehouse setting, this is not the place for you. I had a blast and picked up some amazing finds, including a fabulous wool cloak from the 1960s that is so warm. Oh and one of the other shoppers bought a coat very similar to my ski jacket in high school - back in the 1980s. Dang, I'm getting old. Would I go again? Yes, I would. Maybe on a Saturday rather than paying for Friday access.

People were describing it as a hidden gem-- well hidden no more! I dibble and dabble in thrifting and I particularly love a quality vintage piece (you can check some of my other reviews on some of the other vintage spots in town as well), so imagine my pleasure when I saw they were having a fill-a-bag sale. The bags started at $20 I believe, but by the last day of the sale, they were $5. I decided to go (on a whim) that day to the $5 bag sale. Overall, it's definitely not something I would do again without a snack and heaps of energy. I came within an hour of the sale ending on a hot day and I was basically about to keel over. Rummaging through piles of vintage items is certainly not recommended on an empty stomach. Heck, on a full stomach even. It is not for the faint of heart. The piles were pretty big! I did like that they had mail buckets to put your clothing items in as you searched. I strategically meandered around the outskirts of the piles, but some people went to further lengths. I imagine there was even more to dig through earlier in the sale, so in some ways by the last day it was manageable for me. I also was happy that the crowd at least seemed to die down by the final hour. No complaints, really, about the staff there. The woman who greeted me referred to their bag policy when I accidentally left my purse on, which isn't a huge bag. I get it. She didn't reprimand me and didn't make me take it off, which I offered to do since I was parked such a short ways, so that was nice of her. Her and 2 other people working there watched as people shopped, which I wasn't really sure what to make of, but they weren't following people. I will just assume they were hanging out. Workers helped keep the piles tidy and they moved their other inventory aside. It was pretty organized. I paid by Venmo and there was a slight surcharge on the bag of 15 cents. I would like to return on an Open House day to see some of their typical offerings. I mean the finds I did leave with were pretty sweet. I would rate it above any thrifting for the impressive vintage finds. Everything I bought was definitely vintage in a range of eras and I only spent $5. Where else are you getting that?

When I entered the parking lot I was going to get gas because I was semi near the area. I became immediately deflated. I figured I would skip it- gas was 3.49 today there I believe. I decided I would go into the store and nearly turned around and left when I saw the ridiculous check out line. Forget about trying to get through the aisles- it's a complete nightmare at this location. I HATE when I need things I can't get online and I need to go here. In my former area I would go to Sanatoga- much better experience there. When you go to checkout you are being yelled at "Go to any line" "Go to any line". Then when you finally get checked out- the staff is yelling at customers to "form two lines". You aren't gonna get out easy- you are going to wait and wait. It's overwhelming. I love Costcos as a company and the quality but the shopping experience is completely miserable in my opinion. On the way out I decided to attempt to get gas. It was a virtual parking lot pretty much. So in a nutshell you have to fight for parking, fight through the aisles, fight to pay for your stuff, fight to get out of the store and fight for gasoline. It's insane. I hope we get a Costcos in my area because driving an hour down and back for this is frustrating, unpleasant, and I dread going there!!!

I said its still rude and went on shopping. 20 minutes later up came this man to me and said I'm Fred the owner (OMG IT WAS THE MAN WITH THE VACUUM) his hair was on fire and started to literally tell me off by saying he was not about to apologize to me for vacuuming and that this is a wholesale warehouse and he was the owner and sharply repeated , do you understand, do you understand the difference between wholesale and retail over and over. my mouth just hung open as I knew he was not right and would throw me out in a split second, so I said nothing, he finally said to me okay then okay looking for me to argue. I said okay and he left, I brought my second cart up to counter and said to the employee , please tell Fred he just lost a customer and left. I have never been attacked like this by anyone let alone a business owner, I left in tears and feel bad for Mr. Fred as he was obviously under a lot of pressure that day.
