To be honest, it looks like a knock-off version of Home Goods. They carry very similar items. If you see something you like, you better get it than because their stock changes all the time. They carry nice lamps, chairs, pictures, things for the kitchen, flowers etc. The prices are pretty reasonable, too. If you are looking to shop on a budget, Home Sense is a great place to shop.

She was not at all friendly and got very short with me because I could not hear her and was frustrated with me because of that and because I guess I was using an award that wasn't scanning which meant she had to do more work. She wasn't very nice. I'll still be back especially if I need furniture - I just hope the employees will all be more friendly.

So, sure the stuff's all under one roof, but that's about it. I went looking for a cheap recliner, and found a few, but after asking an associate about delivery, I was told that their delivery is basically them giving you a phone number. The cost (she thinks) is about $100, and you work out all of the arrangements with the delivery people. This, to me, is like being shown a pile of lumber, and being told it'll be a really nice house, once you get it all on site and put it together. No thanks. To summarize: In my opinion, there's absolutely no good reason to visit Big Lots, as other stores provide more for less.

I stand by some of the specifics I mentioned, but now, about a dozen visits later, I understood where I was wrong, and *how* Grocery Outlet is a regular money saving stop for me now. One thing I touched on in the original review was comparison pricing against Walmart. I still believe that in about half the cases, if something Grocery Outlet has is also available at Walmart, it'll be cheaper at Walmart. But, conversely, about half the items will be cheaper at Grocery Outlet. It's also true that some products are closer to their "best by" date at Grocery Outlet, but that almost always results in it being drastically cheaper. I think the methodology to use when visiting Grocery Outlet, is to make it your *first* stop, with the understanding that you will be picking up select items there, and then also stopping somewhere else (yes - the savings are big enough to justify the cost of driving elsewhere). I now know the items that are regularly less expensive at Grocery Outlet, and I also know that there are going to be fantastic deals on spontaneous discoveries that will easily substitute for something that will be more expensive elsewhere. For example, frozen pizza, frozen meals, and snacks, are now things I buy exclusively at Grocery Outlet. The store is well maintained, more so than I first reported, and the employees are friendly and helpful - especially once you get to know them. We went on a Saturday afternoon it was sooooo busy. A line coming in the store and a line going out. I was comparing them to Sam's to see if it was better or worse. Unfortunately, it's a wash for me. They both have their strong points. Costco has a great meat selection, things I haven't seen at Sam's. Their bakery has lots of thing l would like to try. The prices are are about the same. But Costco is a little bigger, a little more to choose from. Only thing I didn't like was the crowd, just too many people. I felt rushed the whole time I was there. I even asked the cashier is it busy because it's Saturday and she said "No! It's busy everyday". I must say, the lines moved pretty fast. Because of the crowd I didn't look around as much as I would have liked too, but i did like the store. I'll definitely go back when I'm rested and have my sneakers on! We stopped to get a snack at the food court. You can go up and pay at the counter or use the kiosk which is faster to get your food. We just got a hot dog and soda for $1.50 (great buy).
