Worst Costco ever ever! They don't care about current members. All they want is recruiting new members. I just moved to the area and this was my first time there because it's the nearest one to me. I was there on a Sunday morning to cash out my membership cash back check. Been in line for half an hour before a staff came from inside the store with a couple who wanted to join as new members cut the line. Many people including me and the ones behind me got upset but they don't care. I came to ask them why they cut the line like that and no one seemed listened to me. They kept helping that couple and ignoring me. Worst attitude! Worst experience! This Costco is okay. I love me some Costco, especially the gas. However, getting to this one off the San Fernando exit is quite awkward. There's always... always a line getting off this exit. However, it's for people trying to get on San Fernando. But, since this Costco is off of Paxton, you have to maneuver around those cars and time the stop light just right to get into the lot. No Costco ever has parking. However, my issue with this one in particular is that they have tons of fuel-efficiency spots around the immediate vicinity of the building, but there's on gas-guzzling SUV parked in them... wad'up wit dat?! Other than those two things, this Costco is pretty cool. The managers are pretty on point. They always seem to look at the trend and lines, and are pretty responsive with opening up additional lines. I had a really good experience here just a few days ago. A very stark contrast to my experience in Burbank. When I visited this pharmacy the staff seemed very upbeat, happy, and excited to be working and doing their jobs. And get this.. you're not going to believe this... the head pharmacist, the lead pharmacist on duty... get this... she was super happy and smiling... when I smiled, she smiled back... like a real human... an actual human being happy and smiling operating at 100%. She didn't seem like a pre-programmed robot or machine at all. I mean, she was super-human. She had probably one of the brightest auras I've ever seen on anybody ever. I've seen a lot of people on this Earth, and her energy was spotless, super-clean. I mean her heart was glowing with joy and love and she seemed really compassionate. She understood everything that I said. and even repeated back what I had said to relay to me that she understood what I was saying and she validated what I had said. I'm not sure if she had taken courses in communication and advanced listening skills, but she sure seemed like it. Maybe she had taken courses in non-violent communication or was just naturally born with this gift. Whatever the case, she was like an angel compared to the pharmacy staff in Burbank. I mean, she was an angel period, with an aura that bright she is more than just a pharmacist. I bet she has some other skills like saving endangered species or rescuing children from scary situations in third-world countries. She was like Mother Theresa. I wish I caught her name, but her aura was really blinding and it was hard to see her name tag. So kudos and props to this Costco Pharmacy and I also have to thank the regional manager Barry for his help with the situation. He was very kind, calm, cool, collected, and awesome. I went in to get a few items today . I went to get Charin toilet paper and there was none on the floor I asked diego if he can bring some down his replied was were busy . He turn around was laughing with some others guy that was working with him . so I asked to talk to a supervisor and he replied by saying there busy . I was standing and diego told a guy if he can talk to me and his reply not right now I went to were the items were and some customers were tearing the plastic from that pallet for that item . I love costco, all of its products, and it's great policies! But this location's optical department and return line sucks! They're both so slow!!! However, the return line is why I'm writing this review. I came here to return some clementines that I found out had rotted and stood in the return line for what I would think would only be for a short time. Unfortunately, it ended up taking almost thirty minutes! Why was this? Because they only had two people working the return line! There were at least five other cashier people not doing anything though. I've been shopping at Costco for over 20 years. I moved to the San Fernando area and shop at Pacoima Costco for the past seven years. My first horrid experience occurred summer 2023. I was shopping there and say a wood table for my partner, who is a caucasian American man. We had been looking for a new table for his dining room for some time. We saw the wood tables at the Northridge Costco and really liked them. I was at Costco on a Sunday by myself doing my normal Sunday weekly shopping and Costo Pacoima had the table on discount, floor model, as one (actually two) of the chairs were missing. I measured it and took pictures and sent them to my partner. He wanted to purchase it. The only problem is that I was in my minivan and had no way to transport them. I told my partner I would purchase them now and ask Costco to hold them for one and a half hours, the time it would take my partner to arrange pickup. I went to check out my usual items and then spoke to the customer rep who then directed me to the rep in the closet by the stairs. I explain to her my situation. I would purchase them NOW and pick them up within two hours as I arranged pickup. She said she would talk to her manager and went upstairs to do so. In the meantime, I called my partner and explained everything. He was anxious and did not see that any of this was a problem and why the rep had to even ask the manager as I was going to purchase the item right then and there. But, I explained to him that I wanted to be sure they would hold it as he arranged for pickup. The rep came downstairs and started explaining the situation to me. She tells me flat out "NO!" I could not purchase it and hold it for two hours for pick up. I asked her if she was sure that it was not possible and she said no it is not possible. The moment I purchased it, I would have to take it. and since I was not going to take it right away, they could not hold it for two hours. I again told her that I would purchase it right now! She said that it didn't matter and that they would NOT hold it for me. I called my partner and explained what she was saying. He hung up and called the store and asked if they had the table and that he was interested in purchasing it. He said that he would come to the store within FIVE(not two) hours to pick it up and asked if they would hold it. They tell him YES, for sure. No problem! As I am walking out the store, my partner calls me to tell me what just happened. I am livid. I asked him did he tell them I was with him. He said no! I just asked to purchase the table and told them I would pick it up around 1 pm. I couldn't believe it. How could they not sell it to me when I was in the store checking out goods and willing to purchase it on the spot? Yet, he calls and they hold it for him for five hours. literally! WHY? Costco Optical Department! Kudos! Thank You! Awesome employees!! Love my new glasses. They were very helpful. Week before xmas I placed an order for prescription glasses and prescription sunglasses. I expected to have them in 3 weeks. Arrived in 3 days! Too Fast! Accidentally got transition lenses instead of sunglasses. They quickly accepted it. Returned it to be fixed. And got my sunglasses the next Wednesday after xmas. Definitely going to be coming here more often. read more

i'm gonna be petty and write a review about the food court because i'm still salty that i ddint get the food i wanted AND WAS CRAVING :((ordered two pizzas from the food court, one pepperoni and one cheese. my sister asked them to be made well done, a request we've made every single time we've ordered from the food court and has been done with no problems at all. the girl on the phone says they don't take custom orders. since when was a well done pizza a custom order? she says we get what we get, however the pizza comes out the oven. she then offers to talk to a manager, which we appreciated but accidentally hung up the phone and decided to just take the loss for that well done pizza. we later go to pick up the pizzas and they offer no plates or pepper/parmesan like every other costco does??? the best part was that they got our order wrong and gave us two pepperoni pizzas. yay. also pizzas tasted like cardboard and the cheese literally slid off the slices in full chunks so all that was left was the crust and sauce any time u tried to take out a piece since the pizza wasn't even cut all the way through read more

I always come to this Costco in the mid-afternoon during the week to pick up a couple whole pizzas for my co-workers' lunch. The food court is always fast and efficient; I don't think I've ever had to wait more than 20 minutes for the pizzas to be cooked. They should train their staff members to be more courteous to the customers when it's time to close the store. Keep in mind that Costco is known to close their doors but allow the customer who is already inside to grab their items without being rudely rushed. If this has changed, they should notify the front door attendant to remind us to hurry because they will close each isle starting from the back. I was just at the pacoima Costco. It was very disappointing how staff member responded to a suggestion. I was at the bra section and I see these bra boxes torn open. I suggested to the employee they should leave a sample hanging for people to touch and see and that will avoid people tearing boxes open. It is just a waste and everyone knows knows no one will buy open torn boxes. Her respond was "in the front there is suggestion box" . She was so cold. This is not my personal experience. But while I was getting my vitals checked at Kaiser ER in Panorama City, a father rushed his son and daughter in. Told the nurse he needed his kids check ASAP, because they were eating g pizza at Costco, and the kids noticed maggots. They had already consumed part of the pizza. I saw her dealing with a lot of difficult customers and a long line, when I got to her, she was still extremely polite and was able to help me out. I usually have a good experience only at the Optical Department that's for the 2 stars. However, honestly today I realized they need to hire people at the main cashiers who not just can do the work but can be a friendly person that has manners saying a "You're welcome or thank you" and look you in your eyes. While ringing up my items, the cashier (name tag AnthonyZ.) didn't even look at me once to tell me what was the amount, is this your cart, is this your card- decided to ask the person in front of me and behind me when I was right In front. Secondly, I just laid my cash out, he took it, gave me my change n that was it.. on to the next person. And he didn't have no eye problem. Thank God, the person who put my items in the cart was respectful to my brother and my kids. And the gentleman checking our receipt. Seriously, need a team meeting for that. My mother had gone later in the day, and told me she was wasn't even helped with her items after paying. One worker turned his back on her and helped someone else. This is the worst Costco I've been to... and that was my opinion of this cesspool prior to the pandemic. Let me start with the membership desk. The women who work at this desk are rude, slow, and wear makeup like they're going to star in a John Waters movie. They aren't two bright either, as one of them had to reach into her bra to count to two when making change. The people handing out free samples like to eyeball the person prior to handing them anything. I asked about this and the woman said she likes to make sure the person fits her demographic... what??? The homeless from the local overpass like to frequent their bathroom too. Need to buy meth, go right to the Pacoima Costco men's room, they fix you up right. I'm done with this Costco because it only got worse after the pandemic. No social distance, no masks and I literally saw lice eggs on one of their cart gathering employees. Please do better Costco, you used to be a cool place to visit. May I suggest using the Costco in Scottsdale Arizona as a model. That place is awesome, and the employees don't shoot up in the parking lot. read more

I've reviewed many Costco's and I always give them 5 stars. The reason being is most Costcos are very similar, they offer mainly the same products for the same great price. Their employees are also very helpful and diligent in their work, and you can see that they take customer service very seriously here. I always compare Costco to Walmart, particularly because I'd hardly ever shop at Walmart. When you pay your employees decent wages of course they'd be happy to come to work and do their best. Parking at this location is also ample and this plaza has a lot of other neat places you can visit while you're already here. Conveniently located next to a freeway, it's easily accessible by any direction. The only thing I don't like about this location (it has nothing to do with Costco itself) is the roads around here are very janky. On Paxton St. the roads are deteriorating and my car is always shaking as it runs over those silly bumps. But that has nothing to do with Costco itself. read more

I've always filled my eyeglass prescriptions at Costco. They are less expensive than other stores but the customer service is deficient. I explained to the technician that my glasses were very uncomfortable and causing pain behind my ears. She attempted to fix them. I told her they were still hurting and she said she fixed them. This Costco is fairly new. I highly recommend to not come on the weekend, as it is incredibly packed. I personally try to come on the week nights. Parking lot is always full. Optical department: - I don't remember her name, she's the younger girl, she is awesome. She was so nice about adjusting my glasses. Service was 1000x's better than the horrid optical department at the Costco in Northridge. Entertainment -Their TV prices are often times cheaper than Best Buy. I purchased a TV here 6 years ago. Produce - Always a good selection of fresh produce, most are organic (if you're into that). I love walking into the huge walk in freezer on a hot summer day. Admit it, you do too. haha Alcohol - drinks galore. Cheaper prices than Bevmo Clothes -this section is always very random and I never really give it a second look, unless it's a gift for a baby. They have a great deal on baby clothes. Books and DVDs -They doesn't seem to be a sense of organization or theme going here, but if you're looking for a current release, most likely you can find it here. Baked goods - They used to carry Cinnabon cinnamon rolls, a 6-pack for $6. I have never seen them again. The big reason, I prefer this location over the others...they consistently carry Silk chocolate soy milk in those little drink boxes. read more

I LOVE this Costco! Well, actually I love every Costco, but this one in particular makes me a happy camper. Because it's super close to work, I can pop in here at the beginning of the week and pick up a rotisserie chicken to enjoy throughout the week. Those freaking chickens are so delicious, and only $4.99... What could be better! I also stock up on other awesome items, like their Salt & Pepper Pistachios, Zip Fizz, and everything else! Their food court is large and comfortable, with the ever so inexpensive pizzas, polish dogs, desserts, etc.! (Don't forget - cash only.) This location has gas pumps, selling gas usually about ten cents cheaper than the regular gas stations. Even at lunchtime, this Costco is not overly crowded - there is close parking and it's easily manuverable within my lunch hour (including a food court stop!)... I really couldn't have asked for a more primo location! P.S. My friend Ellen Sue C. would like me to request that those without energy efficient vehicles (AKA non-Priuses) park in the regular parking (one space over from the designated). I went during the week, but this was a very quick, traffic-free visit to Costco. They had lots of free samples, by the time I walked through I wasn't even hungry enough to eat at the cafe. Such a sharp contrast to my experiences in Los Angeles where there's so many people/cars/blah that the entire Costco experience feels like INSANITY. It's extremely busy on the weekends so I suggest going on Tuesday or Wednesday. The only downside is no sample, if you want samples go on Sunday. I've recently used costco travel online. It was so easy to book a trip to Mexico. Roundtrip airfare, transfers to & from the hotel all included & they gave a hotel resort credit which was nice. It made planning a trip so accommodating & easy! You can look online at deals for different travel destinations. Sometimes they offer a costco gift card. This review is for the optical dr and department. First of all it took the dr not 2 but 3 times to figure out my contact prescription and when i say figure out it means he asked me for my last prescription and said ok we will just go with that. Unbelievable. Then i had to wait 3 weeks for me to even try to order any contacts because they where waiting for one pair to come in with my prescription #. I have never been thru this at any other costco. It took 1 month and a half to get my prescription because once they got me the lenses they made me dizzy and i couldn't see well so i had to wait some more. When i finally got the RX i went to order my lenses for a year and my glasses, with the 2 places combined i spent over 500. Well the contacts i got for a year lasted me 1 month because as i would wear them they would dry out in a couple of days or so. So i thought its probably a bad batch. I went and let the optical department know, their response was well go on the brand website and complain there. WORST SERVICE EVER! I was shocked that that's the way the young girl responded. Have in mind i was not asking for a refund or anything just trying to order more contacts and see if it was a bad batch. I will NEVER USE this place again!!!!! read more

This incident happened a few days ago, but I didn't have time to write about it until today. I purchased a Costco membership for my father a few years back and it is always up for renewal in October. Last year I was shopping with my father when they added the membership renewal more than a month before it was due as we were checking out. I said it was fine, we would renew it then ..I figured we were just paying early. Fast forward to a few days ago. We were at the check out and the cashier adds the renewal membership to our total. I told her that I did not want to add the membership at this time since it was not due for more than a month. I also explained to her that last year we paid early. She was rude and said well last year you paid on this date so that is when it has to be renewed. EXCUSE ME? So I paid in advance and now im losing a whole month of membership because I paid early. She didn't even want to hear it anymore and I wasn't able to purchase the items my father had shopped for. So what this tells me is that if I pay 1 month in advance, I will lose 1 month of membership? This is STEALING from your customers! Why would I want to purposely lose 1 month of membership. This is ridiculous. I will be calling corporate tomorrow. I hope this practice does not span accross all Costco stores. read more

It's always easy to find parking here. I always go around back and park on the side (near the tire center). The area has multiple exits, so I just take one of the other exits when the main exit has a long line. The store is always clean and everything is easy to find. The only thing to avoid is coming in an hour before they close. The lines become longer than any line I have seen at the other Costcos. I'm always glad when the person in front of me jumps to another seemingly shorter line and I end up finishing my transaction before the other person even reaches the counter.
