I adore Costco. I actually came here to use the ladies' room, get some tequila, and get gas for the car, but ended up wandering through the store. It's not that different from the Park Meadows Costco, except that there is a separate liquor store that doesn't carry the Kirkland brands. This was disappointing. I wanted to get a bottle of añejó. I did get a couple of bottles of wine. I like the Kirkland Sauvignon Blanc, but had to buy Oyster Bay instead. There's a good selection of furniture. I don't know if it's the same at every store, but there were some nice comfy armchairs here. TV selection is probably identical. I'm undecided as to whether I need a new giant TV, but if I get one, it will likely be from Costco. I didn't need any food, as my time in NY was ending, and my brother had shopped for the household the week before. I'm really glad that there's a Costco here. The prices and selection, especially for seasonal items, are great. read more

I had never been to Costco before my visit to this location but people extolled the virtues of their jumbo sized everything, dessert selection, and everything under the sun you could find in one warehouse, so I was thrilled to go. My frame of reference for supermarkets is shaped by NYC ones so I was impressed by the wide aisles and that the shelves were actually stocked. That's where my positive impression ended. Fruits and veggies weren't the freshest, particularly the grapes, and their chip selection was surprisingly sparse. I was hoping I'd see frozen dumplings and Asian snacks I'd seen other people getting from Costco online, but they must sell different things based on region, and if that means this area isn't into Asian snacks, that is a shame. My friends enjoyed their $1 hot dogs, and I really liked the fresh churro I for from their cafeteria area, and their adjacent wine & liquor shop was well stocked and decently priced. I'll get a better sense of what to expect from Costco after visiting other locations. read more

Decent Costco location that has Costco Gas conveniently situated next door. This location is pleasantly empty during off hours which I appreciate, but I've seen it get pretty packed during the weekends and peak summer vacation months, likely from Hamptons visitors wanting to get the most bang for their buck to stock up their summer homes for the week. The selection at this Costco features a nice variety of all the staples plus seasonal items. If you're coming out east on vacation and need a new beach chair, towels, sunscreen, you name it, this is a great Costco to pick up those items in bulk at an affordable price. The check out process was probably one of the fastest I've ever experienced at any other Costco. Hardly a line, and even though I opted for self check out there was a dedicated attendant who saw I had some hard seltzers and promptly came over to walk me swiftly through the ID check. Shopping carts and parking were plentiful at this location as well. Overall, a positive experience. I'd definitely come back next time I'm in the area! read more

Just tried the lemon merengue cheesecake, I was speechless. Best cheesecake I've had in a long time. Great graham cracker crust and the lemon curd was perfect. The triple berry pie was also amazing! I couldn't believe how crispy the crust was. Both pies are definitely worth trying. read more

Although you may find some really good deals on new tires, at this Costco...what you will also find is that every single worker in the tire shop has a disgruntled, crappy attitude. Nobody likes buying tires. It's a necessary evil we all face once a year... so to have to spend big bucks on new tires, nobody should have to deal with a condescending, poor attitude. Now not only do I have to pay a membership to shop a Costco, pass the verification at the door, maneuver the cart around shoppers blocking the isles eating free samples etc.. I'm persuaded to use the self check out or wait in line 20 minutes. This last trip was challenging in the fact that while self checking bar codes were missing and in addition a employee was trying to up sell us a membership. Three times I said no than you and he kept bothering us to the point I told him get away. He was telling us we spent a lot today like I needed to be reminded, he just would not go away. I used to think that this was the Costco gem on Long Island UNTIL 12/31/21. The bottle return machines were all inoperable; after I waited a few minutes for staff to come, I alerted the greeter who told me, "Oh, we called someone; it'll be a while." I waited another 3-5 minutes and alerted a manager at the service desk who waved me off and said, "We'll do what we can." 3-4 minutes later, I called the store and spoke to the Asst Warehouse Manager, Mike, who got my name wrong even after I corrected him twice. Finally, the service desk manager who had waved me off came out. She did not know how to make the machines work. Another manager appeared. Same. An entry level employee appeared. All three maskless. Dangerous and violating state mandates. It took about another ten minutes for these three to just count the over 150 returns and give me the money. HIRE AND TRAIN PROPERLY. The Costco feedback QR code near the registers takes you to a oage where yoy cannot give feedback. A complete clown show. Complete disaster. read more

Very efficient cashier lines.The cashiers and their assistants work hard to move the customers through as fast as possible. Excellent tire service center that caters to needs of customer. I have had two flats fixed for free. Excellent optical and pharmaceutical departments. Both departments have very attentive staff personnel. Plenty of extra large parking spaces. Great gasoline prices at this location for regular and premium gasoline. Fantastic wine store next door to Costco, too. What is there not to like? read more

The best part about my Costco experience was the air conditioning, and that was about it. I mistakenly forgot my card and had to go to the customer counter. After waiting about five minutes I was told there was one line. The three women behind the counter all became involved with one customer as the line continue to grow. 10 minutes later I got my temporary card. After finishing, then it was waiting again in the 10 "member" exit line to verify I had the items I purchased. Hire more people who can expedite and improve the customer service. read more

I spent the day with my family in Tanger Outlet on Superbowl Sunday afternoon. The food court in Tanger is pathetic!!! It's hot trash. Luckily, on our way out, we stumbled upon this Costco on Old Country Road. We had to pickup a few things at Costco around our home so this trip worked out perfectly. We got a bunch of Almond Roca and other chocolates, vitamins, and wings! The ready to serve wings at this Costco were kinda bad. They were incredibly small, overcooked and dry. However, it was really cheap for some reason. A full tray of wings was only $7 and change. We picked up two trays of wings, then a pizza pie, beef brisket sandwich, 1 hot dog, 2 sausage pepper sandwiches from the food court. We were set for Superbowl! The service at this Costco is amazing compared to the one in Rego Park Queens. There was barely a line and the food court employees were so friendly and fast with our order. They were so helpful and so courteous at the same time. They also had high chairs available in the food court unlike Rego Park. And last but not least, if you like seaweed, Kirkland's brand of seaweed is pretty darn good. It's not salty as hell, goes perfect with white rice and my son loves it! They're crispy and fresh and not hint of staleness in all of it's packages. I highly recommend Kirkland products. read more

I used to think Costco was a great place to shop but then I actually went to this store and they didn't allow my service animal that is allowed every where else in. This was truly an outrage because service dogs are known as medical equipment and they completely disregarded the fact that I need my dog. My dog is trained just as every other service dog should be but as I tried to explain that to the woman she proceeded to kick me and my dog out. Sure their prices are good, but I personally don't think I'll be going back unless it's for a lawsuit. Don't eat avocados from Costco! I noticed my avocados would not ripen. They were rubbery and odd. I did research and it turns out there is a new chemical called Apeel that they are bathing produce in to increase the shelf life. No one knows how this will affect our health! Wow there is no line at this Costco gas station. Love small towns. This Costco is located next to the Hundai dealership. The hoses are extra long so you can pull up to any side. It's a quick and easy gas station to refuel before heading to the airport. read more

Hey what can I say? I LOVE Costco!!! I barely go into a grocery store. They have great products and if you're not happy with it, you can return it. If you need a quick dinner, grab a rotisserie chicken, a Ceasar salad and you have dinner for about $10.00. You can buy tires and have lunch at the same time. I have rented cars through them at amazingly cheap rates. Even booked my sons honeymoon to Maui, Hawaii, (air, 5 star hotel with upgrade on room, car, daily breakfast). You cannot go wrong being a member. Sometimes my husband and I will go in just to see what's new. If you see an item that ends in $.97 that means it's been reduced. I generally avoid reviewing chain stores, but the lack of good competition on the East End necessitates this. This is one of the newest Costcos in the country, it's clean, the service is friendly, and the store is well thought out. As far as other nearby wholesale stores goes, the only other option is BJ's (which, I'm not joking, is one of the smallest BJ's in the country). And because there are so many more options (and samples) at Costco than at its competitor, Costco is the best wholesale option on the East End. read more

Largest Costco I've seen, but unfriendly Tire Department, specially Mr. LUIS. He had a bad day and took it on me. He made it a terrible experience for me to get my flat tire fix because I was not a member. I got the membership because a Supervisor was understanding when she saw me with my flat tire in front of the customer service desk, the tire department won't even hear my situation. She talked to the tire department to allow an one time exception, I explained to the supervisor Helen, that I was not from the area, needed to drive back home for 3-4 hours at night and didn't want to drive on a Donut spare skinny tire and this was the only place open after 5:30 pm to fix my flat tire I bumped into in Riverhead L.I. After wastimg 45 minutes jumping through hoops, getting supervisor approval, filling form, taking pictures, paying with DEBIT not credit if its not AMEX etc., he still didnt fix my flat tire because "the punture was near the tire's side wall" ... nonesense, the punture was VERY SMALL and repairable, in the tread area of the tire. I was the ONLY person in the tire departmemt, I was nice, patient, respectful, paid their membership when Helen Supervisor got me the one time exception to show her gratitude and still didnt get my tire repair, I asked how much was for a new tire, without checking, Luis from the tire department told me "we don't have that tire", then he 'checked' , Costco didnt have my Michellin tire size 215 65 17, strange, if you know about tires, this is not an unusual tire. Finally got a chance to shop at the new Costco in Riverhead and I love it. Way nicer & cleaner than the one in Holbrook. Staff is very friendly and helpful. The past couple of times I've shopped here the store hasn't been all that busy which is unusual for a Costco. Maybe I've just gone at the right time, who knows but it beats the long lines I usually get stuck on at the Holbrook location. There is a discount liquor store attatched as well as a gas station, no membership needed for the liquor store but you need to be a Costco member to buy gas there. read more

I have been shopping at Costco, aka Price Club, since 1986. I never stop being impressed with pricing, their Kirkland brand, and the way they treat their customers. Tonight in Riverhead I checked out with Tracy. The woman assisting with packing the cart pointed out the King Crab I purchased was open. I would have been very bothered by that purchase if I saw it at home and would have returned it at great inconvenience. Best Costco around. In addition to having huge aisles, a wine store, a tire center, pharmacy, vision center, and "restaurant" it also has a Costco gas station, so you can fill up with inexpensive fuel on your way home. With the executive membership you get 2% back, your savings will really accrue if you use it regularly for gas. There is no sign on Rt 58 in Riverhead. You just have to know to turn at the light opposite the Starbucks/ Christmas Tree Shop/ Five Below shopping center. read more
