Costco Optical. I've been getting my glasses at Costco for years. I've used Costco in Palm Beach Gardens Waterbury Connecticut This is by far my favorite Optical Department ! Summer helped me and she was incredibly positive and knowledgeable. She helped me choose the right size and recommended the correct shape and shading for my sunglasses. Mind you I walked out with three pairs of glasses for the price of one pair of glasses at the fancy Optical Shops. I will always get my glasses at Costco. read more

Costco Optical sells sub par lenses for eyeglasses. Just under 2 years old and the coating on these Progressive lenses are bubbling. They should last much longer than that. Employee said no new lenses will be given, only 1 yr warranty. He tried to blame me for the problem. The workers at the Costco Pharmacy in East Lyme are rude. You will stand there waiting for service for several minutes while 4 staff members in the back room look at you but don't come over to help. read more

This Costco is awesome. I've ended up here a few times over the last few years (it's basically my new warehouse, let's be honest) and they have some of the best pre prepped foods selection I've seen across the country: I mean lobster Mac? Yes, please! The liquor store section has a lot of really great advent and holiday drink selections too, and I find the cutest homegoods here all the time. Their food court is top notch too. Everything! Great place to shop when you need large quantities. Also the optical doctor is remote; however, I can see and hear her on the large TV monitor, in real time, while she remotely controls the eye exam & glasses exam. There is a Tech person there who does the rudimentary work. My glasses were perfect!! read more

This was our first shopping trip at Costco and my daughter and I loved it! She loved the insane amount of samples that she got throughout the store. I liked that there was a liquor store attached at the actual store. There were some great desserts and gift options for the holidays. The checkout lines weren't too long. My kids have bth wanted to try the chicken bake sandwiches and the cookie, they loved them! I thought the prices were reasonable. read more

I do like Costco's but sadly, I woke up one day and found funds had been removed out of my rewards account. As it turned out, a name was drop off the account and Costco's went ahead and purge the account without any type of notice. I do hope everyone watches their account closely. The problem started when they allowed this person, who did not have management authority to upgrade the account to a black card. I said oh well and just paid the additional fee. This was a real shocker for this old man in his 70's. read more

One of the best costcos around! We all know costcos have great prices, but this one is also clean, parking is easy, never so crowded where you can't move, friendly service. It also has a gas station! I live in New Haven and travel here vs going to Milford and fighting the traffic on the post rd and crazy parking any day. read more

This review is on the Optical Dept. I have used their Optical dept maybe 6 times and have always have great luck finding frames I liked and with the lens. I ordered new glasses last week and picked them up this week. Both times there was only one person working. The first time the number ticket I had, indicates 3 people in front of me. This took the one person working 45 mins to get to me. When I went back to pick up the glasses . There were 11 people in front of me . I drove an hour there so I had no choice but to wait. Again the one person working was trying his best. In one hours time he waited on 3 people. That means I would be there at least another 3 hours or more . This is totally ridiculous!!!! How is this good customer service? If you are going to offer a service make sure you know how to manage this service. Thank you Baby Jesus that a lady couldn't wait any longer and gave me her number. I only had to wait another 30 mins come on Costco do better. You have to be selling enough products to be able to staff this dept. read more

This is one of the best Costcos I've been to. First walking in, the workers are super friendly and welcoming. The alcohol is the entrance to the right and there is a great selection there. The value on alcohol is very very good. The main store itself is always very clean and organized. They always have the aisles free of trash and empty carts. The food selection is very strong with everything you could think of. This store is also very good if you need sweat treats. The bakery selection is the answer. Checking out is a little chaotic. I was asked to see my membership and then had to scan it again. It seems like the membership check ordeal is getting a little too much. Overall really nice grocery store and service! read more

This is one of my favorite store locations! This store is always nice, clean, and staff is very helpful. The parking is much easier than other stores and gas is usually is easy to fill up at with no or short lines. Shopping at this location is pleasant. read more

This is the best Costco in the state without question. I went today and bought a modem, bananas, cookies (hey I forgot to eat lunch first), 4 gallons of milk (my kid is always thirsty), tostitos and string cheese all for the price of what the modem would have cost me at Amazon or Best Buy. Plus this store is clean and there is never a huge gas line like there is in New Britain. I hate even telling you this because now the lines will get ridiculous but it's true, this store is well stocked with friendly employees as well. read more

It's a nice brand new store. It has easy access off route 95. Plenty of parking and a great gas station. The inside , due to its size, gave you more of a variety of products. The staff was helpful on finding things. They had a self service check out area , which shortened the lines. You could self ordering hot food. The only negative I had was that there was only one person checking you as you left the store. This made you wait in line to leave. read more

What a HUGE disappointment this Chain Really Is. My wife and I needed a new battery for our car. We went to Costco and after paying $130 the "technician" tells us "sorry we don't install them"! Really what are we supposed to do ? We are in our mid-seventies, and WHO sells car batteries but refuses to install them ? They Sell and Install Tires However. This chain Is Vastly Over-Rated, and we will NEVER Renew our membership to this Over Priced "membership only" sub-par retailer Again. Total Joke...Buyer Beware ! read more

Nice new store! This is a big Costco with lots of room and lots of products in stock. The aisles have enough room for the large carts. No more getting run into by the anxiety driven freaks that feel the need to rush as fast as possible through stores. The employees are very helpful and easy to find. The store is also kept very clean. Beats the heck out of the Milford store. A great addition to our Eastern shoreline towns. read more

LOVE ME SOME COSTCO! However, this new store is lacking in Vegan foods! They had 3 or 4 frozen chicken/beef dumplings, but no 100% veggie! I made the request and they brought in an all vegetarian/vegan frozen dumpling (which i've seen at other costcos) - they listened and I'm very happy so thank you. Listen up Costco East Lyme - We are living in a time where 100% plant based food diets are growing at a rapid pace and we want more options. I'm very impressed with this Costco. I used to frequent the Costco in New Britain and this store is much nicer. The layout is great and always clean. All of the workers are incredibly nice. They always have a great selection of produce & meat. My family and I love finding new products to try when walking the aisles. The gas station is easy to get in and out of. This store is the ABSOLUTE WORST wholesale club I've ever shopped in. Omg. The employees seem to be very nice but the store itself and it's maze of a layout is a total clusterf*ck. A wholesale club that doesn't sell CAKEMIX???? Seriously? Brownie mix. No cakemix. Salsa? Ah yes, need that. Unfortunately had to schlepp halfway back across the store to find the chips as they were in a different aisle. Bread here? Bread on the whole other side of the store. I didn't go down these aisles, mind you, but it sure looked like they had their big screen TV's all in a row. I could go on and on and on, but let's fast forward to checkout. WHOLESALE CLUB. Business Amex? Umm no. Next up, business Mastercard? Nope. Try again! Apparently they only take Visa, which is my PERSONAL account. This trip was traumatic, no kidding. I will never return. THIS REVIEW ENCOMPASSES THE TIRE CENTER ONLY: Last Saturday I went to my scheduled appointment at the tire center to put on the new tires I ordered. Walk around the store for a while (no waiting area due to the covids) and then get a call from Vinny, who I guess was in charge that day. I drive home and when I got back I noticed the tire size was somewhat different than the manual specifies. As I'm looking into it, I get a call from the store telling me they've PUT THE WRONG KIND OF TIRE ON MY CAR, which I found to be pretty negligent seeing as I'd ordered the tires weeks ago. So of course I had to go back and waste a good bit of my Saturday accounting for the tire center's incompetence. Not sure how often this sort of thing happens, but it was extremely irritating, especially as I (of course) got a "sorry man" instead of, you know, an actual solution/voucher/compensation from Costco. I expected far better than the shoddy attention to detail and customer service I received. read more

2023 update: it took three weeks to get dog food delivered. The "Small Dog version," unavailable for purchase at the warehouse, sat "in the system" as though it was being shipped, but wasn't actually handed over to UPS for two weeks. So much for two-day delivery. It took two phone calls to COSTCO customer service. The first agent actually tried to give me the third party's phone number to call myself! Why in the world should I be calling their supplier directly? I waited longer and called customer service a second time, at which point I learned that the supplier had just preparing the shipping, but there was a problem with availability. It never left their dock, while the UPS tracking was registering as delayed. I had to purchase an acceptable bag of dog food at a local seller, double the price for a smaller bag, while I waited for my COSTCO order to arrive. Really not having good luck with the local COSTCO or the online orders in the last few years. read more

I came here for the first time to just look around and see what everyone was talking about, as I was also considering getting a membership here. Needless to say I was very disappointed with how rude one of the workers was when you first walked in. Of course they ask to see your membership card (not a problem), but when I said I didn't have one and I just wanted to look around because I was considering getting one, I got some attitude about it and they tried telling me I couldn't even look around! I went in anyways and looked around, as I've heard many good things from others. I looked to see what they had for gluten free/vegan options and there was little to none. Very disappointing, for someone who was told good things about this place. I really don't see what all the fuss was about with this place supposedly being great. I will not be coming back here again and will go somewhere else with friendly service and more gluten free/vegan options. read more
