I really like Costco because I genuinely enjoy the employees there. They are always cheerful, kind, and eager to help. Many times, when I buy too much and my cart becomes heavy, someone will immediately come over to help me without being asked. These are such lovely and meaningful actions. I usually come to this Costco for the gas because it's the cheapest in my area most of the time. The parking lot is crazy though and it's difficult to park otherwise it's well stocked, pretty orderly and well staffed. I can usually find what I'm looking for but it's commonly crowded with longer lines. If you hit the timing right sometimes you can get there when it's not so crowded. There are usually a lot of samples. I definitely buy more after tasting things I might not normally buy. The self checkout goes pretty quickly. The food court has several kiosks for ordering which is easy and convenient. I'm so happy they switch to Coca Cola products. I do prefer the Carlsbad store. It's a little bit easier to park, better merchandise, and not usually as crowded, but when I need gas I choose this location. read more

I don't know what it is with this location but it always feels busy and packed. I like the products and 80% of the time experience amazing service. Value is very fair but parking is a nightmare. You come out of the freeway trying to turn to Costco - it's all backed up. Gas station is always busy. Pharmacy seems to have long lines too. It's a popular spot but needs more space. The food court feels cramped in a corner and the service area is surrounded by carts. I'm not sure anything ever gets done after a complaint but sometimes I wish there would be someone at the floor to ask a question and not on the other side. Costco itself is a great brand! read more

I went to the Costco Vista optical department today. I walked up to check in but I wasn't sure what the procedure was. Been standing in line for a couple of minutes and a custOmer and lady who wearing a sash that said "THE WUEEN IS RETIRING " has been taking for a while by the check in machine and since I still have some shopping to do , I thought I will go over to tha counter and check on the sign and suddenly, this lady who was wearing a sash that said ," THIS QUEEN IS RETIRING." " she rudely told me that I shouldn't be looking at what the lady she was helping (a friend /family perhaps) to check in ?? I wasn' looking at what her friend was doing!! I just went over to look at the signs!! Sooo insulted!! She then told me some insulting words as with customers around and she left with the other lady.. Out of frustration, I had asked for the manager.. Guess who showed up? the manager was the lady wearing the sash!!! - I can't believe that she is a manager at Costco vista! I had asked Her how could she she treated me like that ? She had showed me unprofessional attitude. This place is a zoo especially on Friday, but I had to pick up a Rx. I had two other needs; at hearing department and membership and two people were outstanding! Helpful, cared, smiled, took time even though I was one a 10k people. I took pictures of their name tags. They both went above and beyond. Audrey in hearing took special care to notice a very significant item in the hearing aid. Today when people don't seem to give a sh...these two individuals are standard bearers for helping others. I have been a long time Costco member, about 15 years. I have never been treated as poorly in my shopping experience as I was today. This location uses the new QR code scanners and I used my husband's card to scan in as I have for a decade, it's never been an issue in ten year of having a shared account. The woman questions me at the door I say we have a family account and go in. A few seconds later this giant 6'2" guy comes after me like I'm some sort of criminal to lead me to member services. I felt intimidated and bullied by them treating me like I was doing something wrong when they randomly changed policies. They could have said for me to bring my card next time or any other polite method. When they found my membership without issue none of them acknowledged it or apologized or anything and said I had attitude for telling this giant man "I hope you're happy". Trust me, I could have said a lot more. This interaction could have gone many other ways, especially when they saw my membership was legit. What blow hards. read more

Tried to go in to start membership and was treated like I was committing a crime by a man named Thomas. I plan on making a review every time I spend time here until service improves... my mom who has been a executive member for years recently had her yearly membership due and was escorted around the store like she was going to set the place on fire. She has always paid her membership at the checkout when she comes in and this time they complained that she didn't pay online and was told she had to wait at the front for a manager then they questioned why she had not done it online. She was escorted to the membership desk where they harassed her about online payment. She was not trying to avoid paying she was simply trying to get her shopping done and if her membership needed to be paid take care of it. They gave her the run around for at least 20 minutes after entering the store to just being able to pay for the membership. Neither of us has ever had such terrible customer service at this store. I will make another review the next time I come in and I will purposely as employees questions to see if improvements have been made if not expect more negativity Thomas read more

This is one of the most useless Costcos. Came here today at 9:30 because their website said they were open. Upon arrival I was told that only executive members were allowed in and that gold members have to wait till 10. First off my membership is attached to a credit card so I had no idea what tier I was and second this is a new policy that their website has not even updated. Costco is using the time that you have to wait to try to upsell you to their upgraded membership. So shady. The manager at the door was super obnoxious and made no exceptions. It makes me want to spend more $$$$ I purchased a Samsung 65" TV a few months ago and needed another one, so this place was my pick. We drive about an hour with traffic, to get here. Our TV was gladly loaded on a flatbed and put aside for us, by the gentleman working that dept. Great man! We came across a BLACKSTONE grill that I had been wanting and another employee helped my husband load it into his cart. All in all, my experience with Jess at customer service and manager, Jill was 5 star. I recently bought two rotisserie chickens from Costco and discovered several flies in each one. I called the store immediately to report this health hazard and returned within an hour for a refund. Despite this, I was shocked to see other customers walking out with potentially contaminated chickens. This is completely unacceptable for a store that handles food. This place is located on Hacienda Dr which is off the 78 Freeway. It is always super busy here even on a weekday and at 2pm. They have a food court that still offers strawberry ice cream which is so delicious and will be discontinued soon. Gas station and Tire service center available here. They also have a few electric handicap vehicles that you can borrow while you browse the aisles for goodies. I was able to find a few clothing items that are discounted. As in ending in 00 or * as those are quickly discounted and meant to go. What I like is that there is the traditional lines as well as self-checkout lines here so even if you feel like you are waiting a long time, the lines passes quick. read more

Her doing so allowed me to discover that I was not adequately protected for pneumonia. All this time, I thought I was and as a person with asthma, this could have result in a very negative event! Honestly every Costco ever is great, and this location is no exception. It's usually easy to find parking (not as easy now with all the construction), but it used to seem like a less busy Costco. Any day of the week and any time will now be busy, but it's still easy to navigate for parking and shopping. They have a great and consistent stock here. Blatant profiling and predatory sales tactics. I have been a loyal Costco shopper for a long time, but my experience at the Vista location on Hacienda was absolutely disgraceful. We were mid-checkout when an employee used a "bait and switch" tactic, claiming she just needed to "update our email" to get me to hand over the membership card. Once she had it, she began questioning my identity, openly judging me based on my physical appearance and comparing me to the photo of my father (the primary account holder). She actually had the nerve to point out racial/age differences between us as a reason to "verify" who I was, despite us living at the same address. When the manager stepped in, things got worse. Instead of resolving a clear case of profiling, she gave us an ultimatum: unless my father was physically in the building at that exact moment, they wouldn't process our groceries--unless, of course, we "opened a new membership" right then and there. It is clear this location cares more about hitting membership quotas and predatory upselling than they do about treating families with respect. They would rather let a full cart of groceries go to waste and insult a customer's integrity than show basic common sense. If you want to be profiled and shook down for money while you're just trying to shop for your family, come to this Vista location. Otherwise, stay away. read more

I purchased tires from this Costco with a 30,000-mile warranty. At just 16,500 miles, both my trusted mechanic and Tesla confirmed that all four tires were prematurely worn down to 3/32", already past the point most shops consider safe. Naturally, I returned to Costco expecting the warranty process to begin. Instead, the manager told me they would not honor the warranty until the tires reached 2/32" -- the legal minimum -- and that I should "drive another 2,000 miles." When I explained that I drive my 19-month-old and 4-month-old every day, and directly asked whether it was safe to continue driving on tires both service centers had flagged as unsafe, the manager assured me yes. I even asked specifically about driving in the rain, and again, I was told yes. I cannot express how unsettling it is to be told to knowingly drive my children on worn-down tires just to satisfy a warranty threshold. Safety should come first -- not last. Being told to essentially "keep driving on unsafe tires until they are even more unsafe" is not only irresponsible; it's shocking coming from a place like Costco. This review is on the new gas station. It's location entrance and exit. I give it an F So I came in off of emerald and I turned left onto Hacienda and tried to turn left at the first light into the new gas station area. Good luck. There were three cars in front of me they all turned left, and then it became a cluster. They didn't know if they should go straight and turn left for the gas station if they needed to turn left for the gas station if they could go straight and go into the regular parking basically three cars had no clue and that's all they got through the light so I got stuck. I turned green. I pulled in went straight to the end turned left to go get gas a lot of pumps they're still been worked on but a lot of gas pumps. I got gas and then I left and there's only two lanes out and you can either go to the right or you can go straight, which is then right left or straight Car is coming in block you and again it is a cluster so the entrance and exit are a nightmare Here's a hint don't come in the first entrance come in the second one like you're just gonna go park come around make the left on the left and come all the way down to the gas station and you should be able to enter easily I went during a non-busy hour. I can only imagine on a weekend when it's busy or on an evening how much of a cluster this gas station is gonna be and how dangerous it is going to be the city of Vista you get an F you should never have approved this whoever designed it you get an F it's gonna be an epic failure. The reason why it's two stars. The store is fine. The employees are good. It's more of the policy that has now made a perceived indifference. Our family doesn't have executive membership and now we have to wait til 10:00am when before the Costco would let us in 15 minutes prior. Now that costco wants to push the executive membership.... That extra customer service even "breaking the rules" we can say but it was an amazing feeling being a customer. Now waiting there til 10:00am and seeing executive membership go in and out makes you really feel not the same. Before this change executives would wait also.. ultimately solution go open executive stores and open at 9:30am for them. I've give several reviews for this particular location. The gas station attendant that I dealt with a while back was awesome. Getting into the gas station blows. They shouldn't let people in from the street both directions. Not fair when you e been sitting there for a bit waiting to get into lot and people coming from the other direction don't practice every other person etiquette. Moving on. This review is for the customer service. Outstanding. I've had to return several items and they are always so nice and courteous. Our experience was great cause it's Costco however we bought a bag of parmesan bagels and a bag of the French toast bagels. Both are delicious but within 3 days of buying them the Parmesan bagels are already growing small mold spots?! It's just disappointing since we've had them not even a week. My husband pointed it out in the evening and now I'm concerned because I had one this morning and I'm a breastfeeding mom. I didn't notice the mold but I also didn't look for it either. They're small spots but still, they're there. The sell by date is June 28 2025, I'm writing this on July 2 2025. Had a great eye exam with a very knowledgeable doctor. Mind you, the doctors office is completely separate from the optical department where they sell the glasses, and I quickly came to the conclusion that I could not count on Costco's optical department to replace my lenses and keep my frames in good condition. I brought my glasses to the lens replacement area and was told they would need to take my frames and send them out in order to replace the lenses. I wanted reassurance that they would be careful with my frames, but was told that they are a "high volume" center and "they move very fast" so the store could not guarantee that my frames would return unbroken, as they have had many issues with breakage before! I do not understand how the optical center in Costco stays in business if they're breaking people's eyeglasses simply out of sheer carelessness. This is their business... How are they getting away with breaking the eyeglasses of people who trust them to take care of them while they're in their possession?
