Tip: Flip all your items in cart so Barcodes showing. It makes it easier for staff and super fast for you. Huge selection of items here. I live 100+ miles away so I'm not too familiar with this location. I came here after Legoland to grab pizza and hot dog before our long drive home, and this food court is the worst! Staff gave different directions about pick up and they're very disorganized. I ordered 1 whole pizza and 2 hot dogs at the kiosk, then proceeded to line up at the "pick up" line (b/c that's the way they do it at my hometown's Costco). However, after waited in line for 30 mins, I was told I need to line up at the "whole pizza" line. The staff did not give me the hot dogs even though I already waited 30 mins. I then proceeded to line up AGAIN at the "whole pizza" line. After 20 mins, I got the pizza but was told I need to step aside and wait 10 more mins for the hot dogs b/c they were out but they were making more. However when the hot dogs were ready, the staff had people who were missing hot dog form ANOTHER LINE (this was the 3rd time I was line!) When I got to the window, the hot dogs were OUT AGAIN, and they were not making more b/c they were closing. The staff told me to line up AGAIN at the cashier to get my refund. I ordered at 6:40p and I didn't my refund until 7:40p, an hour wasted!! read more

It's a Costco so won't be breaking any new ground with this review. What does stand out about this location is everyone who works here is so nice! Really friendly and helpful. I love walking through the bourbon aisle because every now and then you will find a STEAL like Blanton's at $65.99. I dream of the day where I will see Weller or Pappy. It will be one of the happiest days of my life. I saw a bottle of Pappy at another Costco many years ago and didn't know what it was. I wish I could go back in time and slap my younger self upside the head. Something that I struggle with is the idea of regret and making bad choices. I've been working on how they are just "learning opportunities". I have now learned the value of Pappy. Something I will never regret is going into Costco. read more

I tend to go to this location when I'm doing the UYEs, or on the way home from an event nearby. This Costco has a pretty accessible food court, more than some of the others. I get supplies for the Potluck, and call ahead to order pizzas for pickup. It's only 15 minutes from the park, so it makes the best choice. Handicap parking also seems to be a little easier to get, especially on the food court side. The gas station tends to back up quite a bit, and blocks the East entrance sometimes, so the West entrance is a better choice. read more

I was in Carlsbad for the weekend to attend the pickleball tournament in San Clemente. My dear friend from elementary threw a combined high school and college graduation party for her 3 children on that same weekend. I was only 35 mins away from her house. I RSVPed to attend the party as well. I came to this Costco in Carlsbad to get some gift cards. It was only 7 mins from my hotel. Cool! I ended up getting 2 Landry's Restaurants and 2 See's Candies. Great thing about these gift cards is that they are sold at a discounted rate. For example, you get $100 at the price of $79.99. Basically, it's almost 20% off. Discount varies by vendor. I also got 3 bags of avocados. Each bag of 6 avocados was $9.99. That's about $1.67 per avocado. They are on the larger side, but price is still quite steep if you ask me. Anyway, this Costco is no different than any other Costco. It also has Costco Gas. No Costco Car Wash though. They weren't too busy for a Saturday morning. However, parking lot was pretty full. Probably because parking lot is a bit smaller than most. My visit was very short. Walked in and got what I needed. Paid for my purchase via self check-out and walked out. I want to say Thank You to TY in Member Services. I had my purse stolen and all of my credit cards were taken but along with it was my Costco card. I walked into member services. I told him what happened and I showed him my ID and he quickly started on getting me a replacement card took a great picture which is hard to do at Costco. Then he proceeded to take my phone and hook up the app so that I didn't have to worry about it and I would always have access to my card. This was exceptionally great service, especially since he had no idea that I've suffered a traumatic brain injury and that is exactly the type of customer service that makes a huge difference in my world. This is my go-to Costco and I was shocked when I stopped in after Thanksgiving weekend to see the prices of some of their electronics. They had newer airpods for $99. Hadn't been here for years and I stopped in because I was in the area. It was better than I remembered and one of the largest clothing sections I have seen at any of the Costcos. Hubby enjoyed the local beer selection and he got a bottle of Buffalo Trace that he said was a good deal and I got a cava brut rose that was pretty good. Parking was busy on a Sunday, but that is the way it is at all the Costcos. If this was in my LA neighborhood, I would be a regular. Product selection is average and consistent, which is what I expect from Costco great value and savings across the board. Ok Costco policies are getting really ridiculous now, I'm fine with you checking id at the door and the receipts when you exit but the last round of policy changes at the self checkout station is too much. Now you can't scan your items yourself and an attendee has to scan them, seriously? And to top it off , I didn't have a cart so my hand were really full and your attendant is barking at me to scan my card again when my hands were full and wouldn't let me set them down by the register so that I could dig out my card from my wallet in my back pocket. Come on now..Maybe if you asked nicely and explained that your policies have changed instead of just saying "show me your card" I wouldn't be writing this one star review but good customer service does go a long way. I haven't quite come to love this Costco yet but I'm sure over time I will settle in. The parking lot is always busy, but there are plenty of spaces. They scan IDs at the door. It's large but not one of the bigger ones and it's well organized but I feel like it's missing something and the layout feels a bit clunky and awkward. I enjoy grabbing produce in bulk: lemons, mandarins, fruits, ect and chicken breast to freeze for last minute meals. We also sometimes find clothing items here, the children's toys and books still seemed a little pricey imo but lots of things to look through. They have food outside and gas as well but I haven't utilized either of those things yet. Would be curious to check out other costcos in the area. read more

As someone who has experienced Costcos all across the country, this is one of my favorites! They have such a large amount of options on literally anything, from tech, dry foods, produce, refrigerated foods, bakery items, clothes, home wares, etc. Overall their stock and location is quite significant. I can always find what I need here! The store is organized and clean and all of the staff members are incredibly helpful, kind, and welcoming. It's pretty easy to find parking at this location, although the lot seems small compared to others. The gas station can be a bit of a mess sometimes (just due to the location of it at one of the centers exits/entrances), but usually great gas prices that make it worth it! read more

A few months ago, I had the best Costco pizza ever in the food court at Costco Carlsbad on Palomar Airport Rd! I had ordered a whole cheese pizza to go; I had always liked whole pizza at Costco food court, and it always is great value also! But this time was even better; as I found out later when I looked at my receipt, it was made by a guy by the name of "Brayden"! On my next visit, I went to the food court counter and asked about Brayden; he was working that night too, and I thanked him for the pizza on my last visit; he turned out to be such a nice guy also! As an individual not living with other people I cannot recommend Costco and especially this location. Prices are no longer competitive with Amazon for the most part. 3 different solicitors inside the store tried to sell me 3 different things within 2 minutes and 250 feet of each other. Some people were verbally upset by them while I was politely saying I wasn't interested. Buying meat here as an individual doesn't make sense unless you either consume a ton of meat or like freezing it which I do not. Staff needs training in customer service. Self checkouts do not except cash. The food court removed the veggie slice of pizza a while back and replaced the churro with a cookie, both big mistakes. I could go on. Haven't been a member of Costco for a couple of years now, but decided to renew my membership today. I stopped shopping at Costco because, like everyone else, I enter the store and after browsing the aisles, end up walking out with more than I intended on purchasing. Well... we'll see what happens today. The Costco in Carlsbad is located adjacent to the popular Carlsbad flower fields attraction and Legoland California. For this reason, it is usually very busy. The store is clean and well stocked and before I go on...yes, they still offer plenty of food and drink items to sample. After passing by so many of them, I finally broke down and sampled some coffee. It was worth the stop and gave me a boost of energy to continue shopping. This store seems to be larger now, but I'm sure it's only because I've been so used to shopping at regular supermarkets these past years. I was able to navigate the store pretty well. Due to Mother's Day weekend, they were offering lots of flowers which gave the store an extra pop of color. Now that the price of eggs have increased, I took advantage of the savings and purchased them. I also picked up some salted butter and multivitamins. Since I decided to take a shopping list with me, I was able to prevent myself from purchasing things that I didn't need. Although the store was crowded, the checkout lines were moving customers fast and efficiently. I'm glad I renewed my Costco membership today. I will not only save money on food and tech items, but gasoline as well. Costco always has lower gas prices. read more

Fantastic store, can't live without it. Knowledgeable, helpful staff, in the store and gas station alike. I love that Costco appears to pay and treat employees well. And is making efforts to reduce packaging and plastic through the manufacturers, with many products in #1 or #2 plastic, the only types that have resale demand. The others just get trashed so just deceive you into thinking they make a difference. This review concerns party food platters. Because Costco does not post their offerings online, and I had never shopped for them before, I turned to third party reports and made my shopping list based on them. Today I learned there are only three offerings at Carlsbad: artisan sandwiches (20 for $50), meat, cheese and fruit plate (also about $50 for two kinds of salami and two cheese, and some grapes or something), and shrimp (also $40 or $50). None of which I wanted. But with 25 people to feed on Sunday, I ordered the artisan sandwich plate. And bought hunks of Jarlsberg and brie for about $25, pickles, olives, hummus, crackers, etc., to be supplemented by other dishes we will have to prepare. Can't complain about the prices of those products anyways. I also ordered a half-sheet cake, 48 servings for $24, includes custom message and limited choice of design. Chocolate or vanilla. Very happy I don't have to bake a huge cake so appreciate this. The kiosks for ordering party foods are in the west part of the deli section, and the cake orders are by the bakery on the west wall. Just had the worst experience at this Costco. Found all the items I wanted and everything going well. Then I made the mistake of choosing checkout line 8 with Connie M. She did not say hello, ask if I found everything I needed. Instead she threw my card down on the check stand and said "your card doesn't work". Ummmm obviously it did because you were able to scan it so...? Throughout ringing up my items she constantly bitched about how other people don't work as hard as she does, she always gets the carts with the most items, etc. when not complaining she was talking to a coworker and said nothing to me. At the end she threw my receipt on the stand then continued talking to the other worker. Based in my interaction with this woman radiating bad mood and angriness I would definitely choose to go to another Costco location. read more

Came in today with my service dog, and was asked to leave. Some employee came up to my gf, told her that she needed to leave, she then let him know he's my service animal, and again said he wasn't. I wish I would have taken his name down, to let him know how rude he was to us. Been a member for years, and worst most unpleasant experien e during my visit. I love this Costco! The Eye Dr. is wonderful & they have a great selection of glasses. We get all of our car tires here, 3 in the family. Great prices & great service. I get my tires rotated for free ever 6K miles & they can usually get my in within a day or two. I just shop while they rotate, which only takes about 45 minutes. They also gave a great selection of many organic products- produce, eggs & dairy. Our family saves a lot in groceries! read more

whose idea was it to change the food court procedures? it is now take longer to pick your order as it will be made when you reached the pick up windows after a lenghty wait in line. the old way was you ordered with cashier or skip the lines and order via ordering terminals. your order will be made in the order it was received. once it prepared, they called your order number less wait time. read more

I absolutely love this Costco! Out of all the Costco's I've been to in San Diego, this one is by far my favorite. Whether it's gas or groceries, the lines never seem as long as other Costco stores. Also, they have plenty of self checkout lanes to allow for some quick shopping when you're on the go. A few of my favorites as of late are the organic bananas, $2.29, the Hippie Organics Mangoes, $10.99, and the Innofoods Keto Clusters, $9.99 (I literally buy like 10 bags when they're on sale~$6.49). The one item I would love for them to stock is the Forager Unsweetened Vanilla Cashew milk yogurt- I cannot get enough of it! Enjoy! read more

So we lost our cards somewhere in our travels and went in to take new pictures and get cards. This lovely staff member Christina completely took over and helped us not only get new cards but set us up with digital cards and the app. Now, if I lose my card (likely) snd have my phone I'm still good. And I get to buy online plus they deliver. Costco for me is a great wander through aisles not knowing what I might find. Never what I came in for and that's half the fun.
