Fourth of July appliance sales I bought a General Electric refrigerator which was suppose to have an ice maker. Upon delivery there was no water ice maker though it was on the manifest. Movers left the refrigerator in my living room and said issue of ice maker would be addressed. After email back and forth, Costco informed me the ice maker was not/not part of the purchase although promotion indicated it was and said a second ice maker was optional. They suggested I order the part and deal with General Electric to install. Uninstalled refrigerator is sitting in my living room. Disappointed costco did not come thru for us. read more

This has become my go to Costco mostly due to the fact that it's so conveniently close to our home. I also appreciate that there's a target next-door! I will give a heads up that early on in the day, a wine sometimes forms at the entrance. I believe this might mostly be due to Covid and social distancing? We only just re-joined Costco after not using it for a few years. I feel like there are options of Paleo food and keto food have quadrupled and I love it! I feel like every time I go there I find a new product! I can find Paleo tortillas, Paleo tortilla chips, Paleo granola bars, keto cereal, Paleo buffalo dip, not to mention a bunch of premade meals that you can keep in the fridge or freezer. They're all super easy to defrost and come together in minutes. I love it! I forgot that you can't use American Express here. Only Visa loud! So just keep that in mind. Today I celebrated my darling husband's retirement by hosting a gathering of 40 of his colleagues in an office that was unfamiliar to me. Without knowing anything about the restaurants in the area there was only one solution- catering by Costco. Two cakes, cookies, a platter of rolled chicken sandwiches, and a bunch of snacks and other sides later and we had a party. Even better, I was asked where I'd ordered the cakes and managed to shock people with my answer. The woman who asked said it was one of the best sheet cakes she'd ever had. Just trust me when I tell you that this office, like so many offices, sees a steady progression of sheet cakes through the year. Not bad for a nine pound, nineteen dollar cake! Beyond the occasional instant party, I am also a weekly Costco shopper. I appreciate the ability to plan my dinners around a steady supply of chicken and shrimp alongside the neat new items that appear on the shelves. My latest wildcard item was a delicious veggie patty from the refrigerated section. They sampled it, I bought it, and now my family is hoping that it becomes a regularly stocked item. Oh, and to answer the question you didn't know you had, yes, Of course I bought one chocolate and one white cake. I was a drop-in service, they said it could take up to two hours, but they were finished and I was on my way home in one hour and ten minutes. I was so pleased. I popped into this Costco because I was in the neighborhood. My normal Costco is the one in Brookland. The Costco in Wheaton is always insanely crowded and has a smaller selection - I couldn't find a few of my go-to products. Plus because it is in Montgomery County, you cannot buy alcohol in the store. Next time, I will drive a little further to go to the one in Brookland. read more

Let's face it, this Costco is located in an area of low socioeconomic status. That fact said, what do you really expect from this area in general, and specifically this Costco? It won't be the best experience at this location. It'll be crowded, there may be beggars, and it just doesn't seem like the produce here is that fresh. Albeit, it's still a Costco which means they do have higher standards than a cheap neighborhood mart and the prices can't be beat (keeping in mind your annual membership dues). For lack of a better wholesale store in the area, this Costco gets the job done! Oh! The halls are alive with the sounds of deeaaallllss! With deals they have rung for a thousand years! Let's talk about this Costco for starts. This one is the new one in Wheaton. Super happy! It's like 15 minutes from my house ( as opposed to 30 in Gaithersburg). The parking is 100 times better than the one in Gaithersburg. The food court is more open. They offer a wider selection of items. This Costco is just much better than the one in Gaithersburg in everyway. Even the lines are shorter. I'm a huge Costco fan, if you can't tell. I'm also a huge fan of deals in general. I go to thrift shops, yard sales, and estate sales. Deals that I get at Costco equate to amazing deals in those other places. Let's look at a few examples: Costco for a 32 pack of Diet Coke Cans- 9.74 Average price at a Grocery store for 36 cans: Around 15.00 Gallon of Milk at Costco: 3.00 Average price at a Grocery store: 5.00 Everything is just cheaper. Plus you wouldn't believe what you can find there. Did I get a 6 foot table from Costco for 40 dollars. Why yes I did. Did I get about 80 percent of my dress shirts at Costco for 19 dollars a piece. Why yes I did. How about this one - I got a bag of those chips that are named "Food Should Taste Good." I got it on sale ( yes even Costco has sales) for 4 dollars for a bag that's like a pound of those chips. I got this tiny bag at another store for like 5 dollars. A lot of people ask me- "Is getting a Costco membership really worth it?" I live alone - or only with another person. "Will we save that much?!" The answer is YES a million times. The amount of money I've saved on toilet paper, dish soap, trash bags, and paper towels is enough to justify the membership. That is my membership right there. The Gaithersburg Costco was the hot mess express, so when I heard Costco was opening a second MoCo location I was excited. The excitement has worn off a bit (I mean, it's just Costco) but when I go to Costco this is the location I generally end up at. Parking is pretty easy, their lot is huge. Even though the lot shares spaces with Target and the rest of the mall, I've never had an issue parking here and the parking situation is ten thousand times better than Gaithersburg. This Costco has all the essentials you would expect to find. I buy paper goods, bottled water, vitamins, snacks, and various other items which more than make up the cost of membership. I have access to Sam's Club too and they don't compare - Costco is the clear winner. They have quality merchandise priced very competitively. One thing I recommend to anyone purchasing/upgrading/doing anything to your plan: talk to the people at the Costco wireless station first. When I went there to buy my dad's iPhone 11, they were running a deal where you got $300 in bill credits for adding a line, plus an additional $500 for trading a phone in. This was a great deal that beat pretty much everywhere else I looked. I was skeptical I would get $800 in bill credits for a phone that costs less than that but they assured me I would; sure enough, the credits are appearing on my bill. Also, at least for AT&T, they waive upgrade and activation fees which is a nice perk. I also got a $300 Costco cash card when I bought my Galaxy S8 a couple years ago. I have no clue why people are rating this store so poorly. I've been going there regularly since it opened and have nothing but good things to say about staff, merchandise and prices. If I can't find the item I want at the Silver Spring location, the staff have helped me locate it at another store and called ahead to make sure it's held for me. This review is for the tire center. Horrible unprofessional service. I went in last week Wednesday to get new tires. They didn't have them. Ended up ordering 4 special tires for my SUV ($1100). Guy tells me it should be there in 1 to 2 business days. Since I didn't hear anything from them I went in this week on Tuesday. Grumpy guy Julien Lamothe says no appointment for Tuesday & puts me in for 6pm Thursday. Finally I received a call from Costco tire center on Thursday about my tires at 5:45 pm to confirm that they have received my tires. I went and dropped off my SUV at 6pm. I received a call at 7:20pm saying that they cannot remove my spare rim underneath my SUV. I didn't have any special key or any other piece to remove it. When I had the flat tire Road side assistance helped me to take out my spare and put my old tire underneath. Costco should have these kind of gadgets to remove all types of tire (what's the point of having a tire center) Another guy was there & he said he will be able to remove the tire & lazy mechanic Jonathan comes & tells me if something happens while removing the tire underneath they are not liable for my tire/rim. It was a simple things to unscrew my tire which was underneath my SUV. They were so lazy to do it. Period. The main reason which really pissed me off was, Jonathan (btw - Jonathan is a moron) was telling me that he was doing me a favor. Since I was not in their appointment list. I think all of them are high on something. Very unprofessional, rude & pathetic. I ended up returning my order & got the refund. These unprofessional mechanics ruin Costco name. I really don't know why people go to places like these. This ruined my time & I have never had a bad experience like this mechanics before. I would suggest everyone not to go to this place. I would vote Costco a 5 Star business but this location is a solid 3 stars. It's so hard when you visit a chain that is completely different from location to location. This is unfortunate because this location is is very convenient. My first actual visit was on a Sunday afternoon and every inch of the store was filled with people. I started to wonder just how many people Costco allows in before the fire marshal comes and shuts it down. I was blown away at how many people had the same plan that we did. This location appears to be the same size as others but the layout doesn't make a lot of sense. As previous reviews stated the selection is huge and offers a little bit of something for everyone. The produce section appears freah and if you eat meat there's a lot to choose from. We ended up only getting a couple of items but saw plenty more we wanted- next time. The worse part about the visit was checking out. Lines are intense and Costco doesn't take American Express. I'll continue visiting but I don't think I will go on the weekends anymore. The crowds are too intense. On the bright side Costco pizza is #perfection. I know it's a cheap ($9.99) pizza but it's so good. I recommend getting pizza before or after your visit. read more

Unfortunate Experience at Costco Tire Wheaton: Negligence and Denial of Responsibility I am writing to express my profound disappointment and frustration with the service I received at the Costco Tire Center in Wheaton, Maryland. On October 23rd, I brought my car to the center for a routine tire rotation, and the outcome was nothing short of a troubling ordeal. While performing the tire rotation, the technicians at the center found and informed me that a lugnut and a stud on the rear left wheel of my vehicle were damaged. Over the phone, I told them that I only had the tire serviced at their center before so if there were any damages to the wheel, they must have been the fault of the center. They told me to complete a claim form and seek repairs at a different auto shop. After filling in the form, I asked two staff members and got confirmation from them that I could go ahead with the repair and could return to Costco Tire Center with a receipt for reimbursement. I complied with their instructions, and on October 24th, I had the damaged components fixed by a Firestone shop at a cost of $350. Eager to have this issue resolved, I revisited the Costco Tire Center in Wheaton on October 27th, expecting to have the tires properly rotated and to receive the promised refund for the repair costs. To my dismay, the staff and the manager at Costco Tire Center attempted to avoid their responsibility and dragged their feet in addressing my concerns. They cited the need to review security camera footage to confirm the agreement made regarding repair and refund, as well as claimed that my case required higher management intervention. Furthermore, I was informed that another lugnut and stud on the same wheel were found to be in poor condition, and they refused to perform the tire rotation. It's important to note that I had purchased my tires from this same center in September 2022, and they had been exclusively serviced by Costco Tire Center for rotation. The implication is clear: any damage to the lugnuts and studs must have occurred during their previous service visits. This situation is not only exasperating but also erodes the trust I once had in Costco Tire Center in Wheaton. It's worth mentioning that this is not an isolated incident. In March, the same center caused a similar problem, but at that time, they promptly acknowledged their mistake and refunded me for the repair. While it inconvenienced me, I appreciated their commitment to rectify their error. However, this time, their conduct has been nothing short of evasive, casting doubt on their willingness to uphold the service commitment associated with the tire package I purchased from them. I strongly urge other customers to carefully reconsider conducting business with this center. Left store went online , created an account , put all info in , and it says to call store to see if tires are available. Very busy store all day everyday! Parking is nuts but there is plenty. Lines are long but organized and super helpful! Ms. Tanya took care of our entire 300$ basket including gathering our box. Very nice customer service and after the lines and crowds this positive attitude was so appreciated. My granddaughter's Fourth birthday party was last Saturday. She loves pizza. Costco sells large pizzas for $10! My daughter and I arrived about 10 am. We ordered 6 pizzas at the order screen as we were paying with credit. This turned out to be enough plus some for leftovers! My daughter went to off to pick up a few Last minute supplies inside the store. I waited with a cart for my number #894 to be called. My daughter finished up & joined me. Just then our number was called but it was not to tell us that the order was ready. We were asked if we called the order in?? It had been about 20 minutes. As I continued to wait while my daughter went out to put her stuff into the car & to pull the car up at the front entrance. Then we both waited & waited!! It took 40 more minutes to finally get called back up to the counter! I went up 2 times just to inquire about it. By the time our number was called they were serving guests with numbers in the 930's. The cash only orders done at the counter that were smaller had all been finished! I don't know when they actually started on our order! We left immediately. It was after 11 am and the party had already started. In about 10 minutes we were home. The pizzas were a hit with the kids. First trip to the Wheaton Costco today. I've been to the College Park and Gaithersburg Costcos a few times so had some idea of the store lay-out. Friend and I entered the mall near Elevation Burger. It seemed to be a general mall entrance but there was a Costco membership sign-up desk to the left and a Costco food carry-out window and picnic-style tables on our right. I filled in an application for membership and was much surprised when the nice assistant told me I already had a membership. A friend had added me years ago and I had no idea I was still active, but I went ahead and opened my own membership to get my husband a card. The nice young woman also asked where we parked and pointed out there is a parking garage with an elevator (take that Gaithersburg!) on the other side of the mall. Husband and I have been shopping at Sam's in Gaithersburg for years. The Costco, being new, seemed so clean and the aisles wide--I didn't feel claustrophobic here. Friend and I just came on our first visit for me to get a membership and for us to get a general idea of what they offered. There are "basics" that I get at Sam's that I wanted to see if Costco carries (chicken broth cubes, cheese wedges, Greek yoghurt, etc.) I found most, some no, but I just may have missed them on first-time cruise through the store. The store is huge with lots of variety. They were busy but the lines moved fast and we were checked out in 10 minutes or so on a Thursday morning. The staff was all friendly and helpful...shoppers were happy and chatty. Will definitely keep Costco membership because of the quality of merchandise and the proximity to my home; Sam's club, we'll see. read more

Honestly, I wish I had Costco stock! Their entire concept is brilliant and their samples are the bomb. I'd be so rich now. Ha I go to Costco at least twice a month and I never leave empty-handed. As a matter of fact, I often leave with something I never even needed to begin with!! With anything you could possibly need or want or even if you just wanted to stroll around their warehouse when you're bored, Costco is the ultimate go-to store. It's competing with my other favorite store, Target! While I tend to go to the one in Beltsville to get gasoline, I also go to this one in Wheaton because it's very convenient when I go to the mall. Besides that, at this particular location, they also sell their food outside of Costco so anyone can order from their ridiculously cheap menu. $10 for a giant supreme pizza is how I roll:) Sometimes, I even consider an entire chicken bake too. Knowing that Costco is ridiculously busy I only go when it's a weeknight. Otherwise I might just die waiting in line on a Friday or Saturday. But it's always worth the wait because Costco sells anything and everything you can think of, from fresh cut flowers to seasonal furniture, pianos and even diamond rings!! Lastly, here are a few things to keep in mind. They have coupons and specials throughout the month. Don't think twice about purchasing because oftentimes, whatever they have in stock is usually it and then they order new items to replace it. Shop online too. OMG! A costco inside a MALL? MIND BLOWN! Anyways, this costco just opened last month (april 2013) and it is closer then all the other costco's around the area so we checked this one out. Since it was brand new, its clean, well organized and stocked. It wasn't too crowded like the one in pentagon city. Parking is not bad either. I'm not fond of the set up where the food court is in the mall area, it creates a lot of congestion. Also, we tried asking employees where certain things were and NOBODY knew. I know its a new costco, but come on, at least carry a map or something. Finally we just gave up and left. But, this is a great addition to wheaton. read more

A box of Huggies size 5 with 162 diapers for $39 shipped to my house for free YES PLEASE! -I'm pretty sure a HUGE box of wipes is also $34 dollars -a pack of 48 fruit roll ups for only $9 If you are looking for electronics this is the place to go. Their return policy is phenomenal! You can literally carry your camera to the customer service desk in pieces and they will give you as brand new one. Compare to the Costo at Gaitherburg and Beltsville, this Wheaton Costco Tire Center is the best. Hats off to Michael O and Michael P. This is the first time I came to Wheaton Costco Tire Center and my experience is a lot better than the other two. The wait time is not so bad. They tell you to expect the long hour but I sat in and waited. Took less than expected. Mike O and Mike P are the managers that I dealt with. They are very professional, very courteous, and very honest. They explained to me in details my car situation. They fixed the issue I had in my car and very pleased with the result. While waiting for my car I heard people in the line to get their car serviced are from Virginia, Washington DC, even from Annapolis. They too prefer this Costco. My message to Costo and their CEO, please keep Michael O and Michael P whatever it takes to keep them happy working at your Costco Tire Center in Wheaton.
