Problem 1: At pickup my lamp was tagged $55 for repair. Eva couldn't explain why, said the person was confused but she would charge me $35. Problem 2: Before bagging the lamp and driving back home with my lamp I ask Eva to plug it to confirm it turned back on. The lamp didn't turn on. Clearly it wasn't fixed or checked by anyone prior to calling me for pickup. Eva says leave it and I will have the repair person look again. Problem 3: Eva calls me back and says well the lamp should be rewired to replace the plug and thats going to be $65. I was quoted $35 to fix the lamp. The lamp should be fixed at the quoted price $35. The lamp should have been checked prior to calling for pickup. Complete waste of my time.

When I got it home and out of the box, it was awful, to say the least. I called the shop, and Eva J there went off on me when I also added that my receipt was ripped half. She started yelling about conspiracies and asked what I was accusing her of. I was not accusing her of anything, just asked a question. She said to bring the lamp back to be re-done. I have had to eat that $90 charge as I will NEVER set foot in that place again and will take my lamp elsewhere to see if the damage can be fixed. Scary person, and I honestly felt threatened by her reaction.

I was eye to eye with at least 6 employees and NONE of them spoke, offered assistance, or seemed to care about me being an actual paying customer. I guess discussing their happy hour plans was more important than assisting the customers. After I grabbed the items I wanted, I got in line. I saw that register one was open and didn't have any customers, so I proceeded to it. Instead of letting me know she wasn't open, I had to ask and the cashier said, "we are open, not ready for you yet." Rude and should've been handled much better, but whatever. I then head back to the line but another line opened up. As soon as I approach, the cashier said, "no, she's next!" Talking about the woman behind me. I said, "No! I'm next. I just went to register one and they're not open!" She apologized and said she thought I came the wrong way into the line. Now, why would I do that? I can clearly see where the line starts and ends and I clearly understand the concept of a line! That interaction was the icing on the cake. I won't be returning to this location. Home Goods in Rockville, do better!

The store itself is beautifully laid out. It's expensive, but it feels like you get what you pay for so it's OK. My issue with the store and what cost them two stars is their service. I was walking outside the store today about 3 minutes before it opened and three people were in the store and looked at me and didn't even acknowledge me until I waved at which point they signaled I would have to wait. It really would not have cost them anything to open the door 3 minutes early. Small acts like that make a really big difference and show customers that they matter. If there were three people running the store and everything was already laid out, there was really no reason not to open the door and when I came in, there was no acknowledgment of that either. I might have at least said "I saw you waiting there. Sorry we couldn't open the door earlier. Thanks for waiting " or something like that. Whatever. Not a huge deal, but I'm not crazy about the people who run the place.

I visited there for the first time today and had selected several items. The saleswoman informed me of the color discounts in effect today. One of items I selected was a hexagonal side table. On to was a sticker with a price of $35 and the words "red sticker!" That meant the sale price was to be 25 percent off $35. I brought the sticker to the saleswoman and informed her that I was interested in the table. I asked if she could keep the sticker so she will know to hold the item when I was ready to pay. She looked confused and then told me that she wasn't sure that was the actual price for the table. I informed her that the sticker was firmly on that table. Later, she started explaining that she wasn't sure that that was the right price for the table because it had been listed on Facebook marketplace by the shop owner for a different price. She scrolled through her phone and found the purported listing for the table, which was priced at about $235. I told her I prefer to pay the price that was on the sticker that had been attached to the table. No other price sticker was on the table. I asked her if she could ask the shop owner who apparently is on vacation. She texted the shop owner and then informed me that the shop owner apparently said the sticker did not belong on that table. I couldn't see the text that she was attempting to show me. And how would I know it's the shop owner? This table was a 70s style piece of furniture that was veneered and had gold metal handles. It definitely was not worth $235. The shop apparently was trying to sell the item on Facebook marketplace as a mid-century modern piece of furniture. The $35 plus the discount was definitely a fair price. At that point, I told the saleswoman that the situation was shady, and I wasn't going to buy anything from the shop. I left.
