My girlfriend talks about this store the way my friends talk about their gym grind. Constantly. So I finally went, mostly to kill time while she shopped. Annoyingly, she was right. It's a discount spot but everything's sorted into actual sections -- clothing, appliances, household stuff, food -- so it's not the dig-through-a-bin situation I expected. Then I turned a corner and found the exact silver watch I'd been eyeing online for weeks and had talked myself out of buying like a responsible adult. Here, the price made being responsible irrelevant. So now I own it. Walked out with that, some work clothes, and a couple of household things we apparently needed. Prices were low enough I stopped doing the math and just grabbed stuff. Staff was helpful even though it was busy. Came to kill time. Left with the watch I told myself I didn't need. IMHO Interesting place. Finally got a chance to check it out after reading about it. I'd read that it is really cramped and unorganized. I found that there was enough room to move about and aisles were clear. Yes, product is stacked high but not dangerous to navigate. There was one gentleman working, and we said hello. He said if we had any questions, to just ask. We had no idea what to expect or what we were looking for. You really have to take the time to slowly walk around and look high and low. I suppose you can find great bargains if you know your prices and are willing to spend some time there. They had tons of bedding, kitchen appliances, light bulbs and fixtures, huge rugs, weighted blankets, shoes, Water Piks, name brand luggage, and a ton of clothing on racks and some piled to be picked through, plus a bunch of other stuff. I even found some packages of pepperoni, but they were just thrown on a shelf. I guess they're shelf stable... All of these items are close-outs or returned to Costco, or just out-of-season (like the Christmas trees and wrapping paper I found.) If you like going on a treasure hunt, this is your place! This store seems to carry Costco products . It's a bit unorganized, but the deals are great. I've seen many items I've bought at Costco for much less here. Kinda like how one grows to love a tick bite, but love is love. Quick refresher, this place essentially gets returned and out-of-season Costco items and sells them at a (sometimes) deep discount. Basically, if Costco sells it, it just might be here. Here's a Good, Bad & Ugly: The Good: -They have a great selection of clothes for outstanding prices. I've picked up Lucky®, Calvin Klein® and Buffalo® brand jeans for well-below $20. The Kirkland™ brand can be had for less than $10. Occasionally they'll have additional 20%-off clothing but it's not always advertised. -I like the guy who's been running the front as of late. He's nice and will haggle with you and give you additional discounts if one asks, of course. -Large selection of stuff from food and clothing, to TVs and housewares. You kinda need to come in often to checkout the selection. The Bad -Store is still terribly organized and just way too full of stuff. Walking around is a bit of a shit show―esp if there's other patrons about. -The prices aren't always that much cheaper than Costco. So be aware of how much things actually cost. -Avoid buying electronics; especially if they appear to have been opened. They do give a 30day warranty on that stuff, but I'd avoid it in general personally. Too many bad experiences... The Ugly -This place can be disgustingly hot in the summer and bitterly cold in the winter, due to it being a warehouse. Overall a fun place to shop for bargains and treasure hunt. And don't be afraid to ask for additional discounts if you see any little bit of damage; they'll almost always do 10%. read more

My mom paid more at Costless Brand Names for a used, 2-year old item than the Costco price for the same item new. We discovered this after she brought it home and asked me about it. I'm assuming this place buys the big boxes of Costco returns and resells each item individually, but there's no point in buying old, used items here when there are no savings. And in our experience, we ended up paying more than Costco's price. read more

Good place to come look for deals, but it can be overwhelming since things aren't exactly in the most organized presentation. They seem to get stuff Costco won't/can't sell or last season's stuff. After reading all those 5 Star reviews, I was very interested shopping at this store. Since I buy a lot of items from Costco, I thought I may get some good deals. They have a lot of items, I felt they just dumped everything there. They have furniture, electronics, food and some kitchen items.The prices are not so cheap, maybe 5 - 10$ lesser than regular price at Costco. If you buy products at Costco during the sale, they are very much cheaper. For example, I checked Amope Pedicure set. Regular price is 49.99$, but if it is on sale we will get it for 39.99$. In Costless Brand Names, it was 34.99$ a used or returned item.I was disappointed after visiting this store. read more

I knew this store when it was called HD Electronics and although they have a name change they are still the same store they just got 10x better. The owners of this store are Vinh and his wife and I have to say, anyway possible I can support them I will! These people are so down to earth and amazing! They really care about making their customers happy and it definitely shows. They have awesome workers who truly love the people and it's such a welcoming place to come in to. The location can be hard to find but its right across the street from the fairgrounds. Located in a warehouse with tons of stuff! Costless brands sales mostly Costco items that has been not open or bought, returned, damaged and unwanted items. We all know that prices at Costco can be sometimes shocking to look at but once Costless Brands has their hands on the item the prices drop dramatically. Prices range from less than $7 all the way to no more than $60. The sale canned and boxed foods, TV, Bikes, Home Décor, clothing and Kitchen items. I recently bought a Bike here and the originally price at Costco was $700 and Costless Brands sold it for $125 to me! I can't beat that! If you are in Union City, they also have a location there. I tend to go to the Union City location more than this one because its closer to my house but both locations are great but sale different items at different times and I believe this is because each Costco is different. Items here do not last long so you have to come routinely to be able to find some good deals. There are weekends where I walk out empty handed and times where I walk out spending tons of money. Ever wonder what happens to all the merchandise that gets return at Costco? Well it gets bought up by liquidation wholeseller. It's randomly package to a pellat and sold. You never know what Costless Brand Name will carry. One thing for sure it's from Costco. They have lots of clothing, not in any particular order. And the rest of the items are household items, vacuum, soap, luggage, can goods, etc. and a few flat screen tv's. If you don't have a Costco membership than the prices are decent otherwise wait for coupon deals at Costco. Plus you get the great return policy at Costco. Come here with a lot of time and patience because there's definitely a lot here to look at! The store could look like a thrift shop but it's mostly new items (or returned but still it good condition) Came here looking for a small heater and found one! Org. Price was $90 bought and bought it for only $20!!!! There's not much sizes that are small in women's clothing, they're mostly sizes large and higher. Not sure what the hype is after visiting. As others mention in their reviews, the place is in complete disarray like a garage overflowing with stuff. All of it appears to be indeed old/discontinued Costco inventory and/or returns. I didn't see (or expect) any big items such as TV's, appliances, or electronics. Pricing isn't as deeply discounted as touted. Bags of water softener salt sold at Lowes for $5-6 are $8 each. A bunch of stuff seem to be normal Costco pricing which isn't necessarily cheap. There so much stuff in the back piled on top of everything that it's an archeological dig. One positive note is, if you happen to need 'another one' of what you got at costco and it's been discontinued, you might find it here. I suppose one could haggle for better pricing but we left disappointed. Sigh. read more

Frugal Mama approved. If you don't mind digging and hunting for bargains, you will like this place. The clothing isn't very fashion forward (a lot of clothing from Costco), but I was able to find some great bargains on slacks and shorts for the family! The clothing racks are stuffed, so you'll need time to weed through them, so if your looking for a department store experience, you will be disappointed - but like I said, whatever you do find will be worth it. If you are a larger size, there is a large stock of larger size clothing. There was a fitting room at the back of the store, just let someone know you need to use it. The owners were very friendly, and they mentioned they get new merchandise on Friday afternoons. This will be my first stop when I need new furniture, or a new TV, or even a new handbag. I never been to a place like this before. Honestly it is like a costco but better. Everything is discounted and well priced! They have electronics, utilities, and accessories. The gentleman that helped me with finding my new tv was Vinh. He is certainly a character, a funny one. He is very knowledgeable, funny, and accommodating. He was able to sell me a TV that fit my needs and attached the proper accessories I need with this TV. Great guy, and good business. I got 13 pouches of mountain house backpacking food for $36. That's an average of $2.70 per package. They usually cost about $8 per pack so I'm pretty pleased! However, a variety of their other items are not a good deal. They're basically the same price as Costco. read more

Who knew this place existed?! Now I know what happens to Costco's returned items. I found out about it and stopped by yesterday. They have all kinds of stuff-- food, kitchenware, TONS of clothes, vacuums, luggage, Christmas decorations, etc. You can definitely find some great deals here if you're patient enough to look through their stuff. It was very unorganized but you really can't expect much from a place like this. Also make sure you inspect your items before purchasing. My family bought a coffee maker with a missing carafe. Fortunately, they accept returns within 14 days! They also have another location in Hayward that receives shipments 4x a week (versus 1x here). Seriously the best deals. My mom found out about this place about two years ago and I've been coming ever since. I tell everyone about it! I've gotten TVs, kitchen stuff, clothes, snow gear, pjs, canned dog foods to even flash lights. The deals are great and they have a pretty good exchange policy. Sometimes they even offer anywhere from 10-25% off when they have too much stuff. Shipments come every Friday and they vary and most stuff gets on the floor by Monday. If you are a bargain hunter and love to find deals, this is the place for you. A relative told me about Costless and mentioned that all the merchandise comes from Costco and is heavily discounted. The store front is nothing spectacular, but when you peel back the layers and actually begin looking thru the merchandise, you'll find items/brands that are famaliar to you if you regularly shop at Costco. Some of the items are overstock and some are irregular (i.e., case of Kirkland water that may be missing one or two water bottles), however, the prices are very reasonable. They also carry electronics (flat screen tvs, surrond sound systems, computer monitors, sounds bars, etc) that come from Costco. I went out on a limb and purchased a 70" Vizio Smart TV + Sony Surrond Sound system for HUNDREDS of dollars less than what the TV alone would have cost had I purchased it from a big box store. I simply told Vinh (I think he is the store manager) what I was looking for and he was able to get the TV for me in a few days. I have hooked up the TV/Surrond System and have had NO issues with either. I am more than pleased with this purchase! I purchased a wall mounting TV bracket from elsewhere and when I mentioned this to Vinh, he told me that he could have gotten that for me too, and for $30 cheaper! Also wanted to mention that they carry alot of clothes, however, they are in no particular size order, so you have to have patience to weed thru them, but again, they come from Costco, so you'll see famaliar brands, but for much less than what you would have paid at Costco. I saw an ad on Craigslist for TVs here and thought it sounded too good to be true. Luckily I was wrong and am now the owner of a brand new TV that I got for an awesome price! I called them up from home to check what they had in stock, and they were happy to give me details about the different TVs they had. They also gave me part numbers so I could look up the details online and check pricing. We agreed on a price over the phone and when I drove over it was ready to be picked up. Tai asked if I wanted to see it on, and went to the trouble to hooking up a DVD player and rolling down the door so there was no glare on the TV to look for defects. When I got back home, I found out the included power cable was the wrong type and when I called, they were very apologetic and said I could come by to switch the cable. (Since the cable was in a sealed factory bag, I'm not sure if it was the TV manufacturers fault or if the bag/cable was replaced and resealed?) In any case, I got the correct cable and also a discount card for next time - great service! read more

One of the best finds in the Bay Area. Discovered a lamp that cost me only 8.99 that looks like it's 90$. The woman "Noon" that works there is very polite & helpful. She showed me the lamp & I asked if they had any Saffron and she went to the back and found that for me as well. A lot of the inventory comes from Costco and it's usually discounted by 50% or more. I was surprised to see some prices higher than the original Costco price. They had several kitchen trash cans at good prices but the stainless was scuffed and the condition of the auto opening functionality was unknown. This place is awesome. I found a 65 inch Samsung LED tv for 700 less than retail because it was open box. The tv worked perfectly and their service was excellent, five stars. Tai and Vinh worked with me on the pricing, made sure the tv was functional, wrapped and loaded it onto my truck. I got better service here than any big box store around. I liked the place sooo much, I bought a stainless steel bbq too. These guys were great and went out of their way to make me, the customer, happy as a clam!!! Thanks guys and I will most definitely be buying from you guys again. They get new shipments every friday on alot of name brand items.
