I purchased 4 lbs of thomasvile skirt steak the day before Labor Day and on Labor Day opened it to use. It was foul smelling and had a slime even though the exp date was still okay. Upon returning it to the store a few days later with the original packaging they refused to refund or even give me store credit because I didn't have original receipt. I showed them the transaction from my credit card account but to no avail. What that tells me is they didn't believe me and they don't back up their product. Overall this grocery store location is decent. The positive is that parking is always ample. The location is also 5 minutes away from where I live. I suggest getting the App so you can always be aware of savings and to track your purchases. I go here if I want to pick up the basics such as Milk or snacks (Doritos). As per meat or chicken I don't feel it is as fresh as at Costco or Trader Joe's. Finally it's usually not crowded so you are in and out in no time. read more

Do not shop here!!!!!!!unless you want to be treated like a felon. The night time manager threatened me spoke to me like I'm an idiot followed me around the store, treated me with disrespect even until I tried to pay for my groceries. I canceled my transaction because of her fowl attitude. It also seems like she does this a lot because there are plenty of complaints about her doing this to other people. When I requested a phone number she told me I had to speak to Frank and Melissa English and wrote a 9 digit phone number. She then later said we were cool because I didn't take anything. Had a not so good experience today. Had a coupon for $5 off $25 . Our groceries were over$70. I forgot to give her the coupon until the end. She said I wouldn't be able to use it on this order and I would have to use it next time( ends 3/20-like I am going to spend another $25 just do I can get it?. I have been shopping here since the store opened as live close by. The staff is always very pleasant and overall good deals. Today I needed two cases of bottled water. It was stacked really high and I just had a medical treatment (dialysis)! across the street and not able to reach or lift. I approached the register and politely asked if the woman would call someone to help me get some water into my cart. She said yes and proceeded to ring up customers. Finally a lady, a customer, got out of line and came over to help me. It was obvious I was being ignored and it was as if the cashier was enjoying seeing me standing there! Completely rude! In any case I was in her line to pay and I let her know that I had 2 waters and ice in the cart that I couldn't put it on the belt and asked her to scan it. Not sure what her problem was but she was unpleasant and unfriendly and then I let her know that by the way I didn't ask her for help with water for fun, I sincerely needed help and told her I had just came from dialysis and couldn't lift anything that high up.' She replied she was busy with other things. At that point reminded her that I had waited quite a while and a customer actually got out of her line, smaller than I am and helped with the water. She again responded that she would have helped when she was finished with her customers. I replied you couldn't just call someone for me? A few more snotty comments by her and a need to rudely one up me, no apology, but I shouldn't have expected it since she was enjoying making me wait. She then told me to get the ice out of the cart and hand it to her. I was so pissed at this point I told her no. She then made me push the cart out of line around the check stand and over to her at the register "if you want to buy it" This is the rudest anyone has ever treated me in any retail situation! So Abby, how about learning to be nice to regular paying customers! I was nice to you. I sincerely needed help. And while you were purposely making me wait, my husband with stage 4 cancer was sitting in the car waiting for me to come out with just a few items. I'm new to San Jose and still searching for a good grocery store, since there do not seem to be any decent ones near me that aren't super expensive or that I'm familiar with. I was excited to come across this GO. It's larger than any I've ever been to. It was clean and new, which I liked and I scored some deals just like I always do at the good Ol Grocery Outlet. Service was friendly as well. I've found some expensive grocery retailers here and I can appreciate saving money on items to fill up my pantry for my kiddos, especially since they're stuck at home from the school closures and homeschooling. Inexpensive snacks and produce are great here. I also picked up some meat and cheese that was good prices as well. Everything is so expensive here in San Jose, I'd prefer not to gouge my wallet on food that we go through so quickly with 3 little growing boys. :) Otherwise I like to go to the Costco on Raleigh to stock up on larger items. Today was a day of restocking at the grocery outlet they had boxes of all my favorites from coffee creamer, water and even eggs!! The team was kind and helpful as usual and anything that wasn't yet stocked they just opened a box so you could help yourself! I was glad when this store opened and filled in what had, for years, been a vacant space. I like the selection, the service, and the prices. I've been dismayed at times, during the early days of the pandemic, to see some of the employees either not wearing their masks. I wrote an email to the manager, who got back to me quickly, and resolved the issue. Today, I was mighty annoyed to see a few employees doing the "mask under the nose" thing. I was pondering my email to the manager...until I saw the manager telling some unmasked, entitled, Covidiots that they couldn't shop in his family market unless they were wearing masks. The entitled ones said something to the effect of "you don't want us shopping in your store?" The manager said something along the lines of "not in my family market." So, with that, I'm not going to complain about some employee's poor choices to have their noses hanging over their masks. I'm completely ambivalent about folks who want to be ignorant. What I want to do in this bloviating post is give a "way to go!" to the manager who stood his ground against the entitled Covidiots who selfishly put their own crap ahead of the common good. I'm sure they "did their own research." Kudos to the manager for a clean, well-lighted place to shop, for having good stuff at good prices and for looking out for the health of his shoppers. read more

Hmmm.. went back to this grocery outlet recently and realized I may need to re-evaluate my initial review as there were 2 main things that deserve a minus star here. 1. The cell service (at least for AT&T) doesn't work at all inside the store. This can be a big issue if you like to research food items before buying them or see wine reviews on Vivino like me. 2. The cashiers seemed to not figure out the system yet. In 2 separate lines there was a major hold up for some reason. I started in one line, and the person in front of me got held up so I switched to another line. Then when it was my turn I got held up because the cashier wasn't sure how to ring up the herbs I was getting. After a few minutes I decided to just not get them. All in all GO is still one of the best grocery stores for the value so if I'm back in the area I'll still go, but this location in particular has a few issues. I think with time they'll be able to work out #2 and I can update my review to 4 stars, but I can't do 5 if the service doesn't work inside. read more

This location always has a great selection of products and often times, many name brand products will be advertised as 2 for 1 deals. I will buy most items here but from time to time the produce doesn't look that great and every once in a while, you will find some dairy products that are past their expiration date or getting close to it. so if you just pay attention to labels you can get plenty of good stuff. read more

I've been going here since it opened. Have had good experiences , up until Covid. The masking situation with the employees is not good. Today there were three employees that I saw with their masks pulled down exposing their noses.. one checker, one stocker and one employee walking the floor. I went to the checker who was wearing her mask correctly, over her mouth and nose. I brought my own bags so I am aware I have to bag my own groceries. not a problem. The only problem was the checker let the next customer to her register, before I had finished packing. The customer went to the card reader immediately and I had been at the end of the outer bagging, until she moved too close and I backed away until she was done. This put me in the position of having to ask your customer to move back 6 feet. not cool. As far as the masking, I know it is miserable and I know it gets hot, so please.. if your employees get too hot that they need to pull down their masks for a while.. let them have a break so they can go outside I am not sure I will be coming back.. I won't for at least awhile to see if you can make improvements in compliance read more

Least favorite Grocery Outlet! Last 3 trips had to deal with incorrect pricing. Get to the register and items ring up double the price. Take them to see posted tag....they remove tag...then say that's not the price. Ask to speak to Manager they are unable to do anything except to say wrong price. I came in for a quick run with my toddler and a incident that started off at the parking lot. I drive a suv and I was making sure which spot I would fit and able to open the door for my kid, another car with a woman wearing a hat came in the opposite of my direction and she literally gave me a death stare and angry sign language I signal to her if she wanted to park either left or right I gave her priority no she drove by me and I was like what??! I parked on my left side and she drive thru in between the cars on my right and parked an isle away from me. I kept my guard up not knowing what was her intention. As I was walking toward to produce area that lady came at me out of no where and said with a angry irritated attitude that she was asking me which parking space I wanted and I said don't come at me with that attitude and she pointed and walk towards my daughter and she said "your showing great examples!" I said what do you mean when your the way who's coming at me just bc u waited for barley 1 second at the parking lot and you got angry and now your saying all these nonsense. Mind you I was the only Asian person there and with all the anti Asian attacks and harassment going on I will always put my guard up. A employee saw what happen and I said she's being disrespectful and coming at me rude and another male walk up to the staff and I told him over a parking and the white lady said something to the male worker and after a few seconds he walked off. No employees came to ask if I was ok even though I had my toddler with me. The male cashier had a little more sympathy then the first 2 employees. I was actually scared not knowing what she could do especially getting close to me and my daughter. Makes me more scared to go here now knowing no employees will step up if you're Asian. Just opened, lots of cool stuff! I'll update and give 5 stars if I go again and still find cool stuff! I went there about a week after it opened. I spent $37 and saved $59. I'll take those savings, thank you very much! I actually found some very good deals on dairy free ice cream and dairy free yogurt! $2.49 for a pint of dairy free ice cream is awesome!!! They had Quaker flavored oatmeal tubs 2/$1. This place was fun! I want to go back and peruse the wine section, which was really big. I also have heard that they have a very good gluten free section, so I'll for sure go back. Having said that, I don't think this replaces the regular grocery store, because from what I understand, their stock is constantly changing, but it will be a fun place to go once in a while. They have product that it's expired, which is to be expected there, but they are still charging quite a bit of money for that product. Some of the products are really not reduced in price. I noticed on the prices on the products it'll say sold somewhere at a higher price, and then grocery outlet has their price, but when I go to other grocery stores to compare the same product it's the same price or even less. Need to watch out for that, if you looking for a bargain. On the plus side the store is organized, clean and the cashiers are friendly. read more

This location is close to my office so very convenient. I avoid certain things at this particular store as they keep expired products on shelves to sell. I once bought chips that I didnt notice until I had tried them were a month past expiration. Taste was awful. I then got duped on a box of cereal that while not expired until next month tasted a year old. I didn't spend enough to worry about getting my money back. Just be warned. The owner, Abed, is great! This store is always clean and fully stocked. The only issue is they allow women to have their purses, no matter what size, and no backpacks for other women. Most women carry purses and some prefer backpacks. They should ban purses too if we can't have small backpacks. If they think backpack carriers are thieves, actually it is easier to put stuff in purses than taking off a backpack and then putting it back on. We have been shopping in this store since day one and we are treated like criminals. Very insulting and humiliating. read more
