I went to Port Erin on a beautiful day not quite sure what I would do for lunch and ended up at Cosy Nook based on the reviews. I was very pleased. First, on a nice day, it is the perfect place. Literally on the beach, with views out to sea (I could see a cruise ship on the horizon) and of everyone enjoying the beach. Outdoor dining so really taking advantage of the weather.
The food was also good. I decided to go hyper-Manx so had queenies with bacon and garlic as well as chips with cheese and gravy. Both were quite good, though the portion of queenies seemed small. That said, they were well cooked, flavorful and the bacon was plentiful. The salad was surprisingly good, not just lettuce/rocket, but tomato, cucumber and even strawberries.
The chips with gravy and cheese was also nice. Served very hot, the chips were very crispy and the cheese plentiful.
All in all, a great experience on a great day. read more
