Some people make reservations for their favourite tables. They certainly make sure every is clean and chairs aligned. Four of us were sitting around a very small round table, so I put my camera case and bag on top of a neighbouring table (they were only 20% full). My wife told me they were staring at me. After I took it off and put them on the floor under my seat, they cleaned the table; must clean off any dirt I might have on my stuff! They have been open for 3 years. They allow photos using a phone but not a DSLR. They said they would charge $250 for me to take photos. One staff member recommended I speak to the owner. The owner was concerned that I take photos of his prices: this makes not sense since I can also do it with my phone! He finally allowed me to take photos of just the food, and he asked the staff to take it out for me onto a table! I was thankful! There is indoor and outdoor seating. There is free WiFi. I couldn't even finish the dessert because I was unsure if the tiramisu went bad or if there was something new in the ingredients. Furthermore, the service could be better improved. Each time the server was taking a new order, they'd have to go to through the kitchen doors and get a box (why couldn't the boxes be by the desserts?). There are also no labels on the desserts which causes a lot of slowness as people in line inquire about each dessert and the ingredients in them. This causes significant build up in the line as we wait for each person to review each dessert. I was in and out within minutes - exactly what I like. There were also a lot of people sat down for a Sunday at 4:30pm. The cake itself was delicious. It didn't look like the image online when I ordered - it was actually much more beautiful in person. It was a hit with my Asian grandma and family, including the kids - so you know it's good. You could really taste the strawberry and lychee flavours. The jelly strawberry layer was still frozen when we cut into it a few hours later (stored in the fridge) but it was still very good. Will definitely be ordering again!

The service is consistently warm, and the pastry case is hard to resist. We've tried many of their cakes, and the blackcurrant queen cake is hands down our favorite--tart, elegant, and just sweet enough. Their salted caramel croissant is beautifully laminated and filled with just the right amount of caramel. In fact, their croissants across the board are solid--flaky, tender, and buttery without being greasy. The sourdough bread is excellent, and the espresso drinks are reliably strong and well-crafted. It may look like Paris inside, but don't let that inspire your inner Francophile--the staff are lovely, but no one's following your French. Still, this is the kind of place that keeps regulars coming back. We're definitely among them.

We cut the 6" cheesecake into 12 small pieces, and it was perfect for a sweet little treat at the end of our meal :) The staff were courteous and ready to help. It was quite busy even on a Saturday evening around 6pm. There are also tables inside the shop for dining in. Other than whole cakes, they do have slices of cakes available and other mini desserts + a lot of macarons! We did request the shop to write HBD on the cake, but the staff said they are unable to do it at this location (not sure why, maybe don't have the proper tools?).
