When I saw this in the distance I asked if we could come here. I have seen videos and stories about how magical one of these places are. I was not disappointed upon entry. I can't explain it, but this place was clean. I don't mean all neat and tidy, what I mean is that it was bright, welcoming, and white, almost to the point of feeling sterile. However, don't take that as a negative. It was different to be in a store and not feel like you were dirty. The brightness of this place drew me in. I wanted to shop. I also did not feel lost in the least. I would be in a department and have an item in mind and be in front of options in minutes. What I really liked about this is how the grocery store portion of this place wrapped around other departments. Like it meshes in with the store and doesn't overpower your experience. It also did not put a hard divide in the store where you needed to switch modes to shop. I could hop over to the hard lines and grab what I needed right after throwing a bag of cheese into my cart and then go right back to the groceries with ease. I was pleasantly surprised with this store and now I'm a bit envious of those that get to call this your neighborhood market.

I don't own a restaurant but the careful shopper can find deals on larger items like frozen "family size" dinners and find a wider variety than you'll likely see in chain grocery stores. My suggestion is to browse the store slowing using a shopping cart. If you're good at pricing choose items that you use, that aren't necessarily perishable and notice the larger sizes. Be careful, everything isn't a "value." You'll find an "island" of deli meats & cheeses that is quite extensive, in larger quantities, poultry, pork & beef as well with whole chickens, selected parts, ground beef, roasts and more. They also have seasonal fruit & vegetables that are quite tasty when allowed to ripen properly. Frozen deserts are excellent, try the Chef Pierre Hi-Pie selection out of frozen foods. And the cheesecake selection is to die for. If you're entertaining they also have a great selection of vegetable & cheese/meat trays available and a wide variety of dips. Also, when entertaining or having backyard BBQ's GFS has a very good selection of plates & plastic utensils all high quality. Plastic "Solo" cups, cocktail glasses, even wine & champagne vessels. As I said, learn the store, make it fit your needs & lifestyle. Go back and teach yourself how to carefully shop & you'll most likely succeed in obtaining high quality products at value prices in the bulk to semi-bulk category. Excellent for large families. I don't recommend GFS to replace your other grocery shopping venues but to enhance them and to widen your ability to save money particularly if your a budget conscious & careful shopper. Me, on the other hand, I am not fond of the store. Not that it is bad, but I don't think that I need to travel all this way to shop at a store that reminds you of a Big Lots. This location was really weird. The set up was kind of in dysfunction. When you are funneled into the store you are kind of spit out into this area where it was a mishmash of items. Can't really give it a department name, as it was a mix of items from fireworks to tea towels. My Dad scurried off and went into the depths of the store before my brother and I left the mishmash area. We were able to locate him before we paid for our purchases and tell him we were going to head outside. I had a small bag and then went on my way outside to wait for dear old Dad to come out with more bags than my brother and I had combined.
