My wife visited this urgent care today for treatment. We have never had any issues with Cottage in the past until this incident. She waited four hours to be seen, which we understood given that it is Super Bowl weekend and the urgent care was likely understaffed. However, the main issue occurred when she was finally called back after waiting four hours, only to be told that our insurance was not accepted and that she would need to pay $200 out of pocket to be seen. We feel this information should have been verified or communicated much earlier in the process, especially with patients who are experiencing extreme pain, which my wife was. read more

every time I call for the appointment same day, the appointments are full. Which leads me to believe that they are understaffed. When I walk in, I'm waiting for hours.. And no one is there to answer questions, etc. It's a very cold place.. it certainly does not live up to its name urgent care. I guess we have different definitions of urgent. Plus this facility and one's like it cost the taxpayers a fortune. Money not well spent. I always end up calling my doctors office and getting an appointment with a nurse practitioner at least. read more

I have unfortunately have had to come here regularly for several years now since it's the only urgent care in the valley and our pediatrician is in Santa Barbara. Essentially, there is nothing urgent about this place. Every time I come, it is slow as molasses in every way possible. The wait. Every interaction. The front desk, the first nurse you see that takes vitals, they spend more time staring at the screen clicking away thru their software than addressing what we actually came in for. The front desk you are lucky to even get eye contact. It is like all independent thinking has been trained out of the employees here. There's one or two physicians and nurses that have nice bedside manner and actually look at you when you're speaking and interact, but 90% of this place could honestly be replaced with AI. To sum it up, I wouldn't be surprised if someone came in with a gunshot wound they'd ask them to wait while they go thru intake questions. Ultimately, you'll get the script or bandage you need, but don't expect to be in and out in less than an hour even if you have an appointment. read more

I walked in and was greeted by a very friendly lady. I waited only a few minutes before I was taken back to a room. Another very nice lady took my vitals. Shortly after the Dr. came in and ordered chest x-rays which were done on site. While I was waiting for the results, the first lady I met upon arrival brought me hot tea with lemon. Soon after the Dr. came in with my chest xray results. Prescription was sent to my pharmacy and I was good to go. I appreciated the care and concern i was given here. I unfortunately had to go to urgent care, but this was the best experience I've ever had going to one! It was a Saturday morning and no wait at all. I was able to call ahead to learn about potential wait times and upon arrival was immediately taken into a room. The staff were quick to address my issues and my whole visit took less than an hour. Had to bring my daughter into Cottage Urgent Care in Buellton during our vacation in June 2024. The visit was very average. There was a rather lengthy wait to be checked in, but that can sometimes simply be a product of patient volume; since my daughter had upper respiratory symptoms, we had to wait in a patient room and could not see what kind of volume there was at the time. When we were finally seen, they didn't check the height or weight of my daughter. This becomes a problem is with the prescriptions we were given, dosages which were (we later found out) much too low for her at her current age. The dosages prescribed matched what she received when she was five years old. The staff was otherwise pleasant to interact with, and we were grateful to have an option available to us while on vacation. But, there was certainly room for improvement. read more

Went to cottage urgent care in Buellton waited two hours the power went out and they would not help me. I have a severe bacterial infection feeling miserable. All he had to do is write a prescription and I could walk into CVS and start feeling better immediately but no, they got hung up in their stupid system. I've attempted to get help from this urgent care location 3 times in 3 years and been turned away every time. Once at the beginning of COVID since you had to schedule tests, fine, but the next time it was because fever was one of my symptoms and these morons believe all fevers are COVID so you you get to go untreated until you get a COVID test elsewhere. The third time I was in pain from an ear infection and they turned me away with a "sorry no provider so we're closed today, try this other city 40 minutes away". Buellton would be better served even by even a 6th fast food restaurant rather than wasting this building space on this useless health care "provider". read more

I've been coming here at least twice a month for the covid test. They are efficient and organized. Good thing is they are only few miles away from Lompoc. I'd rather drive here to get seen by professionals cause I know I will get treated the way I wanna be treated. They see walk-ins and by-appointments. I highly recommend this urgent care to anyone who needs to be seen for their non-emergency medical needs, and for sure they will send you to emergency room if needed. As a 70+ individual who has lived in several states, I've visited an array of Urgent Care Clinics. Obviously, Covid has complicated all visits to numerous clinics. I knew I had a sinus infection by experience, plus I had interacted with one of my physician's office staff as my doctor was on vacation. They suggested I get a Covid test, "just to make sure"; and yes I've been vaccinated. Once I had a negative result, I walked in to the clinic. I waited 15-20 minutes outside. When I was called in, I was evaluated , had an X-ray, and was then discharged with medication, which they called into my pharmacy of choice. The entire staff is efficient, respectful, sensitive, and humorous when appropriate!!! Yes, I will return! Also, since I have a history with Cottage Hospital System, so they had access to my records and history. This obviously made my visit go along smoothly. Highly recommend!! read more

I recently went to Urgent care for the first time and was very happy with the care provided. I was met outside and taken in to an exam room with no waiting. The LVN was kind and compassionate while taking my history and vitals. The NP Chris was gentle and kind also. He called in my new prescription and I was on my way in less than 30 minutes! I called to ask a question and ask about wait times and they helped me just make an appointment so I'd have 0 wait time! When I got there, I was seen right away, treated super respectfully and all my concerns were addressed fully. They even followed up a few days later to see how things were going. The facility is beautiful and super clean as well. Also, since it's Cottage, everything goes straight to MyChart and the rest of my dr's have access to it already and they are great about communicating with outside providers too. This has been such a valuable resource for our valley. It is wonderfully simple to make an appointment. We've been there 5-10 times over the last year and only once did we have to sit in the reception area because an emergency walked in behind us. The other times we were met at the door and taken straight to a room. The check-in process is streamlined and efficient. The staff is always helpful and caring. Definitely not real doctors, best described as a Covid testing center. Went after 2 weeks of bronchitis told them I've been drinking robitussun by the bottle and not helping I needed a dm syrup and inhaler. They gave me inhaler and robitussen like wtf I just told you it hasn't worked for 2 weeks a big waste of time and money. read more

I generally do not like medical facilities, but gave the Cottage Urgent Care in Buellton a call on a Sunday morning for my wife who needed a growth drained as she was in great pain. They got us an appointment within 90 minutes of calling. I was amazed at this place, the super friendly and helpful staff, the cleanliness, efficiency and everything. I didn't feel like the usual experience I was used to. Cindy took great care of my wife and held her hand during the procedure, which can be quite painful. Cedar, who performed the procedure, was absolutely great as well, explained in detail what was going to happen, and almost most amazingly, asked us several times if we 'had any questions'. I'm used to having to chase doctors down the hallway to get my questions in. All in all a great experience. We really felt cared for. Front desk medical assistant Brandy was horrible! My son has a bad cough so I took him to be seen, keep in mind he is a four year old CHILD! I called first to explain that he was on antibiotics for a tooth infection but has developed a cough and I wanted to have him seen. She puts me on hold then tells me to go to the dentist. It is Sunday! I told her I wanted him seen for the cough not the tooth, so she told me a cough is a sign of Covid and they won't see him. I call the cottage emergency room and they informed me that urgent care has to take walk ins. I show up and BRANDY comes outside Immediately knowing that it was me that called asked me my son symptoms once again refuses to see him and tries to tell me that they are booked up for the day. I called college emergency room again, told them the situation they not only excepted in my four year old son into the emergency room, but they called and made a complaint for me. So if you are looking for help and friendly people I definitely advise you to go to the emergency room instead. Apparently medical assistant Brandy has all the power and refusing people and making judgment calls. The emergency room also informed me that I wasn't the only person that was refused to be seen! read more
