I had my surgery with Dr. Paveloff. This center is top notch and I have high standards as a retired RN. The center is spotless, the nurses do their documentation on paper and really listen and pay attention to you. They assure you are comfortable and warm, and explain every step of the way. The receptionist is caring and the center runs on time with the surgery schedule. As for Dr. Paveloff, he explains everything in detail not only pre-op but during the procedure, and seems to really care about his patients. Thank you!! Not only was I afraid of having scary surgery, I was also afraid of going to a new surgery center outside of Cottage. My surgeon at Samsun was gone until next year, so I was referred to a surgeon who operated at this clinic. If this also happened to you, let me reassure you that the experience and the staff here are equal to the team at Cottage. The SB Surgical Center is connected to the Trader Joe's parking lot, so it is easy to find. The interesting thing is, it appears that the surgery center is computerless, so everything is recorded the old fashioned way - by paper and pen! I found it charming and honestly, the good natured nurses and pleasant staff were more present with me because they weren't typing away on a computer with their backs turned towards me. The team communicated with me every step of the way leading up to the surgery, and then, again, after. I left feeling really cared for and they followed up with a phone call and a letter. What was once scary in my mind, actually turned into an exceptional experience. Fun Tidbit: It is a small world because one of my nurses turned out to be a local Yelp celebrity, Mr. Richie himself. It was really nice to have met him in person and he's incredibly sharp and kept it professional, even though I really wanted to ask for an autograph. read more

My fiance had surgery here today, and we were so impressed with this experience. First off, you can feel quite nervous because you are having surgery, but we were greeted kindly by the office staff and we were brought back in a timely manner. There were several different staff members and all of them were kind, and very personable. The level of care they offered put us at ease, and the nerves subsided. Extremely frustrating, aggravating and costly in terms of both time and money was my experience. My case was mismanaged by Santa Barbara Surgery Center and Dr. David Laub (urology). Also, be aware this facility was embroiled in a 2017 lawsuit concerning alleged sterilization practices/violations, and other questionable conduct. For some reason the lawsuit was abruptly retracted and the plaintiffs publicly refuted their earlier claims. You decide. You can along that same line note that I've contacted my attorney as well in the event I realize any medical complications. In any case, however, as I've stated I'm already out quite a bit of time and money. read more

SBSC is incredible! We came to them from 2 hours away and they were all so accommodating. Our 2.5 year old was slated for surgery and they made us feel secure, cared for and loved. They all treated my little boy like he was their own. He's quite the uncooperative little fella and they didn't seem to mind. He was treated with respect, love and understanding. As a Mama, that's the most important thing when you have to watch your baby go into surgery. I felt comfortable with everyone there and trusted my baby to be with them. I had cataract surgery on both eyes, everything went perfect! The staff was absolute professionals and exceeded the job requirements and made me feel comfortable and at ease. Every person I met was upbeat, concerning, and good at their job with excellent bedside manners. Dr Wu did the procedure and I'm glad he is my eye doctor, I would not trust my vision to anyone else. I I have been to many surgery centers in my lifetime whether it's for me or a family member. Santa Barbara surgical center is far the best. Between Dr. Anderson., Dr. Hofer and all the nursing nursing staff I could have not been more pleased. They explain everything and they care so much. Highly recommend. This is a top notch surgery center. My dad had sinus surgery here and everyone could not have been more helpful.Everything was done so well! The staff is friendly and well-trained. I saw them constantly cleaning everything around me so I felt that everything was hygienic. You could tell that the doctors and staff had a great working relationship. The surgeon, the anesthesiologist, the nurses and the tax all seemed to have a well oiled machine. My procedure was brief and I was out shortly thereafter. I certainly would recommend anyone needing their services not to hesitate. I have been a patient here for over 10 yrs. The nursing staff is amazing. They are all very friendly and caring. However, this facility has recently changed ownership.I have it from great sources that the new administration has been making some extremely bad decisions. I have nothing but problems with scheduling and billing. Somebody dropped the ball in the middle of getting an insurance approval, scheduled 2 procedures that were not approved. Hence, insurance did not pay these bills. I knew NOTHING about this until 6 mos later when i needed to have this regular treatment again. I was notified the day prior to my procedure, that i could not come in unless i paid $3000 in advance. So frustrating when you are in pain to be getting jerked around for weeks. I eventually wound up having the procedure done at another facility. Will NEVER go back here. Stear clear of this place. Try Summit or Premier. I was treated like royalty. read more
