The defendant declined to pay the fees presented immediately after trial so a hearing needed to be held. That first hearing got scheduled in June 2025. The day before this hearing my attorney advised me that the defendant's attorney had a medical emergency and needed to reschedule. I am a little suspect of the timing, but let's assume this delay was unavoidable. The second attempt for this hearing was scheduled for July 2025. The defendant's attorney did not show up for this hearing and apparently the cause was that Mr. Wentz did not file the correct paperwork. To his credit he told the judge it was his fault and he would get it corrected. The third attempt at this hearing finally occurred in August 2025. Let's not forget though that each delay adds cost to the client. Attorneys sending e-mails back and forth to each other can add up quickly at $250/hr. Even after the third attempt, Mr. Wentz had not calculated the attorney's cost correctly see my review on BBB.com. Which she didn't even bother to drive to, even though she had promised to do so. Instead she was allowed to do a through the phone. When going paperwork to help establish child support with my ex-wife she didn't bother to check my her income. She just took my ex-wife's attorney's word that was her average income. I was kept in the dark about most of the process of my case. I was working overseas and never had any follow up emails about any steps to finish the divorce. Nor was there any information about the next step would be. When I came home for mediation and called her office to setup an appointment to prep for the mediation. I was told that she would call me back and never did. Instead she sent me a copy of her filing saying she didn't want to be my attorney anymore to the court. All without even saying anything to me. I always paid her on time and paid her the full amount. But after she filed to withdraw, she sent me a $200 bill for her "time" it took to file to withdraw. I seriously do not recommend. You will not have great service or experience. The billboards are a nice advertisement for her but don't be fooled.

I filed for divorce in 2013 and hired this attorney. I found this incredibly unprofessional and immediately saw red flags. My children and I were also going through domestic violence at that time, which was not disclosed to her, but it should go without saying that a good, decent divorce attorney should be careful when it comes to certain subjects. At that time, I decided to reconcile, but she never even closed out my case and kept the rest of the retainer anyways! When I went to file for divorce again in 2016 (nearly 2 years later) is when i discovered that the first case was never closed. Being unfamiliar with the legal process (hence the reason why ppl hire attorneys in the first place) and suffering from a rare brain disease shortly after reconciling in 2014, I was even more disgusted by her professional ethics to have put me and my children in a situation where it appeared as though I had an open divorce for that long. To top it off, I recently requested my file from her, where she at first blew me off saying they are in storage-but as I kept pushing the issue- she has only given me emails of court records and an empty pdf, nothing more, all of which consisted of a few emails, with several of the same (duplicate) emails. She knows she did wrong and I dont usually ever write reviews about ppl/businesses...but in this case, when someone is dealing with your LIFE, the LIFE and FUTURE of your CHILDREN (who have already suffered so much), while taking thousands upon thousands of dollars, I have to speak up. I want to warn others from making the mistake of choosing/hiring this lawyer. I know lawyers dont have the best reputation, but there are some who truly do care and will have you and your childrens best interest at heart, while not grossly overcharging you. When I went to refile in 2016, after thoroughly researching candidates, (a lot more in depth this time around) I hired Mr. Clark Henderson. At that time, he was at a law practice called Campbell & Henderson, and was literally sent by God himself. Completely different experience with him, which I will write a separate review. Just trying to save ppl time, money, and heartache!!!

I made one phone call and within minutes I was contacted by Sherry Ivey Jones. I hired her based upon a strong reputation from other clients testimonials as well as her timely response. My probation was re-instated and extended for a year. She filed a motion and I managed to report to the court without ever being arrested or spending a moment in jail. Her staff kept me up to date all along the way. Here is an email I just sent her: One week ago at this moment I sat in Judge Stone's courtroom with my immediate future hanging in the balance. The previous day, sitting in a hotel room with my mother, was one of the most traumatic experiences of my life. Knowing the stress she was under made my reality a burden I never want to endure again. Looking back, the severity of the situation I was in, didn't fully sink in until after we met with you (Ms. Jones) Monday evening. Neither one of us ate much at all, nor slept for that matter, before getting back home. This past week we both have been going through a range of emotions. The best way I can describe the ordeal is that of an out of body experience. From the time you (Ms. Jones) walked into the courtroom it was as though you were escorted by protective angels. The calm, organized spirit of the entire proceeding was remarkable. Both myself and my Mom were struck with how professional and compassionate everyone was, even The Honorable Judge William F. Stone seemed to have my best interest in heart, as well as the prosecutor. You (Ms. Jones) mentioned at your office how you (Ms. Jones) sometimes are able to work a miracle, I think my case qualifies. Given my mental health issues, as well as the facts in the entire case, I was not deserving of jail or prison and fully agree that justice was done and I accept and appreciate a second chance to fulfill my probation requirements. Another aspect that is remarkable is how quickly everything was accomplished. I was out of court in less than an hour and departed the probation office at noon and was on my way back to Alabama. We arrived home around 6:30PM. Two days later I heard from Florida probation office instructing me to report to my local probation here on Tuesday, which I complied with yesterday. I am eternally grateful to you (Ms. Jones) for helping me; it is extremely beneficial to have representation from an attorney who obviously has the respect of the court officers. Thank you Paula (Ms. Jones' Assistant) as well for keeping me informed throughout this ordeal. Regards, Jeffrey Scott Hightower scottower@gmail.com
