Cottons has one of those small shop fronts that's easily missable if you're not in the know, but this bar and restaurant is rather deceiving, inside there are 3 different rooms that can hold up to 80 people and the bright and colonial decor reflects the tropical ambience of the Carribbean. I've found myself in here on a weekday evening knocking back daquiris and cuba libres. No, not because I'm a raging alcoholic but because at £4.50 for happy hour drinks it was too good to pass up. The food here is supposed to be incredible too, with traditional jerked meats and curries firm favourites.

Best way to warm up in winter... Spicy food and a fire place! Cotton's in Camden is a gem, from a beautifully put together menu, polite and friendly staff to cosy surroundings and wonderful food. You can't really go wrong with this combination. This is what I would call a "up market" Caribbean place, with fabric napkins and a bill that will come to £25 a head with a cocktail. It's worth it though, these cocktails are brilliant. Rum, ginger, tropical fruits. You can warm yourself by the open fires and close your eyes sipping away at a beach island dream in your glass. I really loved this place as if someone asked me for a perfect date venue, I'd recommend coming in here. Perfect.

It's often difficult to find a decent Caribbean restaurant in London but Cottons is definitely worth a visit. Each room is named after three Caribbean islands (Barbados, St Lucia and Margarita) and once you step inside Cottons you forget you are in Camden. Their platters (meat, fish or vegetarian) are great value for £12.50 and a great introduction for anyone not familiar with Caribbean food. At the weekends there is a great party vibe with a DJ on the decks until 1am. Cottons offers stylish authentic Caribbean food in a great atmoshphere- don't for to book to avoid disappointment!

If you like rum and you like West Indian food then look no further. You'll need more than one visit to work your way through the 300 strong rum collection. The only let down about this place is the small space near the bar. Otherwise this could be the perfect place to spend the night in Camden.

Appalling service, especially from the front of house staff. Mediocre and overpriced food. Very disappointing, do NOT eat here.

While it may be a bit on the pricey side, the experience is undeniably worth every penny, especially if you're looking for a night of shared dishes, attentive service, and great atmosphere. the mood is perfect for an intimate dinner or a celebration with friends, as it was when i came here for my birthday! the guac was prepared on the table, and had a great freshness to it, but was not worth the money imo bc it tasted pretty ordinary to me. same for the antichuchos de pollo - they were so small and tasted like regular skewers to me - they had a nice smoky flavor, but nothing that couldn't be achieved at home easily. i liked the trio de maiz, which had many different types of maiz, and was presented beautifully! the dish was very fresh and almost nutty. also liked their take on patatas bravas, which was perfectly crispy and with a delicious creamy sauce. love love loved the tiradito de pez limon, which had the most melt in your mouth yellowtail crudo/sashimi. it was paired with an amazing slightly spicy green chili sauce, and overall flavors were phenomenal. the orange tobiko wasn't there though... the salmon was one of the best things i had that night - perfectly cooked and tender, melty and delicious! amazing flavor pairings, scrumptious overall! dessert was one of the highlights of the meal as well. the churros were citrusy and fried to perfection, and paired with a great sauce. my personal favorite was the passionfruit mango pavlova thing, which had such a bright tartness! everything was served on what looked like homemade pottery, so lovely! the price point seemed a little irrational for what we received, but everything was delicious, and the overall experience was amazing! highly recommend if you're feeling a bit posh or just want to treat yourself!

On our second visit we were served by Gabrielle who gave us excellent recommendations. I forgot to take a picture of the lentil soup which was light and tasty. Every dish was expertly prepared. The ratios of ingredients and spices were just right. We were never made to feel rushed so we took our time enjoying the flavors and textures -- it was a delightful experience and we plan on returning when we're back in London next year.

I hate it because I don't live in London. I also hate that no one else to my knowledge has thought to add whipped cold foam to espresso martinis. A non-alcohol alternative was also listed with its respective ingredients (I assume this is wherever applicable), and I appreciated the inclusivity.
