I first came to cottontails because my wife ordered something and asked me to pick it up on the way home from work which was mildly out of the way. They gave me a nice drive and it was not terrible to get there or home from the shore to the New Braunfels area. The store itself is in the end of a strip mall. Inside the store. It is fairly spacious and what I would describe as well organized. I browsed around some of the items just to see what they had and it seemed like everything was in really good condition. The item we got my wife called ahead for and asked if they can hold it for a day and they were willing to do that. Which was very nice because when you have a newborn it reminds me of the Steinbeck quote. The plans of mice and Men often go awry and we just couldn't make it there the day she saw the items she wanted. The woman behind the counter was super friendly and a pleasure to interact with. All in all we really like the store for a number of reasons. Outside of getting a great deal, another big concern of ours is the textile waste and product plastic waste from getting new toys, clothing and baby items. They often outgrow them quickly and while the items may be small when you're constantly buying new contribute to landfills. Shopping at consignment shops like this are a great way to help combat that by making sure gently used goods don't end up in the garbage. Truly a great store. Constantly restocking items, good prices, wide variety. Reviewers that are complaining about rude employees and inappropriate music are not representative of the DOZENS of times that I have visited this store to BOTH buy and sell items. If you are mad because they wouldn't take your stuff, one of two things is likely true. One, your stuff is not as good as you think it is. Two, you did not read ahead to find out what items they are currently taking. Remember, you are giving them things you do not want. Don't be so arrogant to assume that anyone else will, let alone someone who would like to sell them. I personally absolutely love this concept and this store. This place is totally a hit or miss depending on what you are looking for. My sister's all come here and we recommend other people who are having children or have children to come here if they can. Newborn and children in general grow very quickly. Sometimes you find that they have clothes, toys, car seats, strollers, and other items that were very lightly used or never have been used at all. Cottontails children's consignment is the best place to bring lightly used children's clothing and other related items. They are very picky about what they will buy from you because they only sell quality items. They accept a certain amount of pieces at a time. What they don't sell in their stores they will donate the rest. You can use the credits that you get from selling your items to purchase other items as your children grow without breaking the bank. read more

This is my favorite store to go to for my grandson. It is merchandised very well and fun to shop in. I've gotten so many great things there from designer clothes to toys and lots of books. Recently I was looking for a shopping cart and Marissa remembered and sent me a message. She went out of her way and nowadays that means a lot. read more

This place is a great resource for gently used kids items. I have been shopping hear for years, since it was in a different store front in the same strip mall. The staff is always nice to me and my kids. The prices are great and they really have good quality items consistenly. My kids are always able to find clothes they like and that fit them. We usually have good luck with shoes and rain boots too. read more

Wish I could give no stars! Owner was extremely rude, disrespectful, pushy and unprofessional in more ways than one. I was trying to consign some children's clothing prior to moving out of state. This woman basically threw my clothes to the side, making a mess of my things, insulted me numerous times and ended up taking nothing after wasting my time. All of this was in front of customers. She does not belong in a position where customer service is part of the job. I don't recommend this consignment store to anyone! Take your business elsewhere! read more

Really not impressed with the staff. My first time in the store and a woman named Marissa was very dismissive, cold and condescending. I left upset because of how she made me feel. The clothes are not cheap for second hand clothing. Some cute stuff but Once Upon A Child is so much more friendly and has more to offer. read more

Clean and well organized. Staff were helpful and wearing masks, as were the other customers. The clothes are like new quality, and nice brands. Got three new Mini Boden dresses and a few other items from French brands. It's not dirt cheap, but it's reasonable for what you are getting. We have used cottontails..to purchase and sell for 18 years. They do have a large variety of stuff, some can be priced high for something used but for the most part the prices are fair. Selling has worked ok for us, there have been times we were told they wouldn't accept an item only to see the same item on the floor that was in poor condition. I don't agree with only taking name brand items from high end stores everyone has a budget and this is not giving some people a chance to shop for cute items because they are not from macys or nordstroms. read more

Great store for parents!! I have been purchasing things for my son and nieces for a few years now. I love the brand name clothes at great prices and everything is always in perfect condition. I have always found something in the toy and book section to bring home to my son. I even purchased maternity clothes for myself when I was pregnant and loved them, a few pairs of jeans and some really nice shirts. Used to love love love this place. Always found great deals and a clean and organized store. The last few times I've been in it has been definitely not that. It's been messy, under stocked, lines to check out, and most sadly they have changed their pricing system. I have been a consignor with Diane for 10+ plus years. I absolutely love the way she operates her business. The on-line appointment maker is GREAT! I have NEVER had any difficulties with consigning at Cottontails. The folks working there are always so nice and helpful. I highly recommended not only consigning at Cottontails, but shopping there as well. I still shop and manage to find SOMETHING each time I am there to drop off the last of my three childrens' items. I would also recommend Cottontails to Grandparents to pick-up extra "baby equipment" for when Grandchildren come to visit. I have both shopped at and consigned with Cottontails. I love their staff. Pricing can vary sometimes, I am guessing that it depends on who tags it. They run great sales on holidays, and have a return policy, which is great when you have kids that won't use a fitting room. read more

I've been a customer of Cottontails for over 5 years and I am a bit dissatisfied with store lately. It seems the quality has gone down quite a bit with stained clothing, randomly organized racks and mis-marked sizes on tags. Diane is so "picky" about what she accepts, yet today alone I found clothing made in 2008 (right on the manufacturers tag) on the racks, target, kmart & walmart clothing labels and stains on several shirts. This is not consistent with the high standards alleged by the store and I just have to wonder what's going on. read more

Not worth the trouble to consign with them. Don't get much $ for the stuff that I've brought in. For the boatload of children's stuff that I had, most was rejected by the manager and I got less that $50 for my trouble. Better just donate to a church or Lunch Break - they are much more appreciative. read more
